Abstract

Abstract

A vital component that supports human life's well-being is health. World Health Organization (WHO) and Indonesia's Law No. 36 of 2009 both define health as the state of being physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. Another acknowledged basic human right is health. This study emphasizes the value of public health programs that target the general public and work to prevent and improve health. Nonetheless, the community has not made the best use of the healthcare facilities that are available. The purpose of this study is to raise public awareness of health care facilities and encourage greater usage of them. The approach is outreach through talks, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions. The results show that public awareness of health facilities is quite high, yet incomplete information leads to difficulties in using available facilities. In order to increase public awareness and trust in government health services, comprehensive education and clear information are essential.

Abstract

Namun angka ini belum mencapai target World Health Organization (WHO) yaitu kurang dari 20%. ABSTRACT The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI) has announced Indonesia's success in reducing the prevalence of stunting from 24.4% in 2021 and then down to 21.6% in 2022. However, this figure has not yet reached the World Health Organization (WHO) target of less than 20% . Meanwhile, the national target in 2024 set by President Joko Widodo is at 14%. This certainly requires various interventions and collaborative efforts from both ministries and other institutions in Indonesia. Immunization and nutrition are important factors in preventing stunting. This community service activity is to carry out monitoring and education about immunization and nutrition status. The method of community service activities carried out at the Toddopuli Community Health Center (Puskesmas), Makassar City, is by checking nutritional status and monitoring the Healthy Way Card (KMS) as well as observation and interviews. In addition, by providing face-to-face health education materials to the public. The result of this community service activity is increased public awareness about the importance of controlling nutritional status and immunization in infants and children to prevent stunting, so that it is hoped that achieving a Stunting Free generation will be more easily realized.

Abstract

Inflammation is the body's physiological response to stimuli such as infection, trauma and chronic disease. Its exacerbation can lead to deterioration in health and damage to tissues in organs such as the lungs, kidneys and liver. The drive behind the development of anti-inflammatory drugs is to improve treatment efficacy and reduce adverse effects. The primary aim of this article is to deliberate on the pharmacological properties of compound from C.tinctorius as an anti-inflammatory agent. Through an extensive study of data we made a literature review of 17 research conducted to unravel the potential of compound from C.tinctorius as an anti-inflammatory agent. The ability of Carthamus tinctorius to alleviate inflammation is demonstrated by its ability to inhibit the activation of the NF-κB pathway and suppress the binding of the TGF-β1 promoter. These molecular processes hold the promise of ameliorating lung injury by attenuating the inflammatory response through suppression of the TLR 4-dependent signalling pathway, thereby improving the health of rats suffering from pulmonary fibrosis, a condition characterised by inflammation and vascular tissue repair. In addition, compounds in C. tinctorius are effective in reducing T lymphocyte (CD4) apoptosis in sepsis through their anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects. The anti-inflammatory mechanism is also demonstrated by reducing inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 in the lungs, kidneys and liver.

Abstract

Introduction. Signs of acne vulgaris, a condition of widespread inflammation in pilosebaceous units, include blackheads, papules, pustules, and nodules. Acne vulgaris affects 85% of teenagers and young adults between the ages of 12 and 15. Acne vulgaris is primarily caused by hyperkeratinization of the pilosebaceous ducts, inflammation, mycobacterial infection, and excessive sebum production. The term dysseborrhea refers to the changes in sebum levels that happen during puberty, both in terms of quantity and quality. Apart from exogenous factors such as cosmetics and comedogenic medications, endogenous elements such as hormones and genetics can also contribute to the issue. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the use of face care products and supplementation and the incidence of acne vulgaris in medical students at the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar (Unismuh). Methods. For the study, a cross-sectional technique was used. The sample method used is simple random sampling. A sixteen-item questionnaire was used to gather data, which the Chi-Square test was then used to analyze. Results. The analysis yielded two significant results, a value of p=0.552 (p>0.05) showed no significant correlation between the incidence of acne vulgaris and the use of face products, and a value of p=0.132 (p>0.05) showed no significant correlation between the incidence of acne vulgaris and consumption of supplements. Conclusion. There is no correlation between consuming vitamins and using face care products to stop pupils from getting acne vulgaris.

Abstract

Background:  Patients with COVID-19 experience a range of clinical symptoms, from asymptomatic to multi-organ failure. It is believed that factors including age, gender, systemic disease, and the inflammatory response that takes place have a significant impact in rising morbidity and mortality.3,4 Dysregulation of proinflammatory cytokines might result from the inflammatory response brought on by innate immunity.5 The prognosis of COVID-19 patients is characterized by an elevation in the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), which are regarded to be inflammatory marker parameters.3 Because vitamin D is known as an immunomodulator that is essential for addressing the cytokine storm mechanism as disease development in COVID-19 patients, vitamin D deficiency has lately been believed to play a significant role in the success of therapy.6Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive analytic research approach was applied in this study, which included 88 COVID-19 patients from the Hasanuddin Teaching Hospital divided into two groups. Results: The results showed a significant difference between the NLR (2.82 + 1.86 ; 8.09 + 5.40) and PLR (11.35 + 6.98 ; 34.35 + 16.52) in both groups with higher NLR and PLR levels in patients with severe grades. Although vitamin D levels in both groups were within normal limits, vitamin D levels were lower in patients with severe COVID-19 compared to mild-moderate levels with a mean value (19.62 + 7.89 ; 16.62 + 6.28).Conclusion: Vitamin D insufficiency can be considered when evaluating the therapeutic response and NLR and PLR levels can be employed as markers in measuring the inflammatory response.
