Abstract

The mangrove zoning and landscape express the correlation between mangrove vegetation (density, biodiversity and species distribution) with environment factors like as water inundation, seatide, and soil properties. The research was conducted in Segara Anakan Lagoon to analysis community structure and mangrove landscape based on species distribution, biodiversity, environment factors, and mangrove zoning. The results showed that (a) Segara Anakan Lagoon had 4 mangrove zone's were dominated by Sonneratia alba, Rhizophora mucronata, Avicennia marina, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora styllosa, and Nypa frutican; (b) the structure of ecosystem was showed by trend of mangrove ecosystem with equation y = 35.34x2 923.85x + 12817 with x = time (year) and y = mangrove area (ha), mangrove density between 1333367 ind ha-1 (West Segara Anakan) and 899–567 ind ha-1 (East Segara Anakan), dominated species were Nypa frutican, Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora apiculata, and Aegiceras corniculatum and mangrove biodiversity between 2,572,65 (moderate); (c) structure of environment factor showed single and semi double-type tides, water debit between 0.360.73 m s-1; water depth between 0.20–23.7 m and water inundation between 480cm; soil texture was clay and loam, soil nitrate of 1.5 mg 100 g-1, soil phosphate of 1.5 mg 100 g-1, C organic of 1.31%, soil pH of 6–7, and soil salinity of 6.5–10 ppt.

Abstract

Energy and electricity demand in Riau Islands is increasing rapidly due to the fast-growing population, urbanization, industrial development, and economic growth. The limitations of energy and electricity in the Riau Islands caused frequent blackouts. To support the high demand for energy and electricity in the Riau Islands, renewable energy is the most suitable alternative energy solution. Renewable energy is not only playing a key role in providing energy but also providing long-term clean and sustainable energy. We investigated the wave energy potential in the Riau Islands Sea in four different consecutive monsoons (North monsoon, East monsoon, South Monsoon and West Monsoon) using ECMWF data during January 2018 to December 2018 with 0.125o x 0.125o and 6 hourly spatial and temporal resolutions. We extracted bathymetry data from NOAA’s database ETOPO1 and forecasting wave characteristics use the SPM (Shore Protection Manual) method. The potential wave energy simulation from significant wave height (Hs) and energy period (Te) was shown in spatial distribution based on different monsoon. Our studies found that the potential wave energy was higher in north monsoon with maximum spatial of wave power density 3.240 – 3.640 kW.m-1. The east monsoon tended to be lower potential wave energy with dominance of wave power density at 0 – 0.127 kW.m-1. Keywords: wave power density, potential wave energy, ECWFM, monsoon

Abstract

The lagoon conservation in Segara Anakan is developed to reduce tidal flooding, abrasion, water pollution and tsunami disaster. Vertical and horizontal akuaponik system aims to reduce impact of water permanent inundation in mangrove conservation area. The socialization of mangrove conservation aimed to teach and give information of mangrove conservation, rehabilitation model using vertical and horizontal aquaponic and the planning bioploc in mangrove area. This activity used the focus group discussion and demonstration plot. The results of this activity were socialization of  socio-economic factors to support mangrove and coastal management, Oceanographic factors of mangrove and coastal management, Mangrove rehabilitation using aquaponic vertical and horizontal systems, Improvement of water quality in catfish cultivation with biofloc system, the conservation of mangrove ecosystem, and analysis of main stakeholder to support lagoon conservation.

Abstract

Industri batik skala rumah tangga merupakan bisnis kecil yang menghasilkan limbah tidak terlalu banyak tetapi tersebar luas. Sedangkan, air limbah yang dihasilkan dari industri rumah tangga langsung dibuang begitu saja tanpa pengolahan terlebih dahulu. Limbah industri batik ini berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran logam berat yang dapat memberikan dampak buruk bagi organisme perairan maupun kondisi lingkungan disekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pencemaran tiga logam berat (Cd, Cr, dan Fe) di anak sungai Pelus sekitar industri batik Dusun Kauman, Sokaraja dengan menggunakan 4 jenis indeks yaitu CF, EF, I-Geo, dan PERI. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan April 2023, dengan stasiun sampling terbagi menjadi empat stasiun meliputi hulu, sebelum industri batik, setelah industry batik, dan hilir yang bertempat di Anak Sungai Pelus, Desa Sokaraja Tengah, Kecamatan Sokaraja, Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah. Logam berat dianalisis dengan metode APHA 23rd Edition, 2017 dengan alat AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai CF untuk ketiga jenis logam berat (Cd, Cr, Fe) berkisar antara 0.0189-3.433 yang berada pada kategori low degree of contamination hingga considerable contamination. Nilai EF logam berat Cd dan Cr berkisar antara 0.014-3.433 yang berada pada kategori pengayaan rendah hingga pengayaan sedang. Nilai I-Geo logam berat Cd, Cr, Fe berkisar antara -6.31-1.19 yang berada pada kategori tidak tercemar hingga tercemar sedang. Nilai PERI logam berat Cd, Cr, Fe berkisar antara 0.038-103.00 yang berada pada kategori berisiko rendah hingga berisiko besar.
