Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to increase students' understanding, skills, and participation in managing productive waqf as an instrument for achieving sustainable development. The training was held at the Unwaha Jombang and IAIN Kediri campuses, involving a total of 80 participants. The methods used in this training include delivering relevant materials, case studies, group discussions, field practice, and visits to productive waqf institutions. During the training, participants are given an in-depth understanding of the concepts of productive waqf, financial management, reporting, and evaluation. They are also involved in field practice to apply the knowledge they have acquired to actual productive waqf management. The evaluation results show that this training succeeded in increasing participants' understanding of productive waqf and the importance of the role of students in pushing for the realization of the SDGs. In addition, participants also develop practical skills in managing waqf assets and formulating sustainable business plans. This training also encourages collaboration and networking between students, lecturers, and related institutions to create synergies in the development of productive waqf.

Abstract

The Prosperous Village Livestock Program at LAZNAS Nurul Hayat Kediri City serves as a model for utilizing zakat to bolster local communities towards sustainable development goals. This qualitative case study employs document analysis, interviews, and field observations to delve into the efficacy of this program. Despite challenges in zakat fund administration and economic limitations, findings indicate its effectiveness in community empowerment through livestock company financing, training, and social network enhancement. This study uniquely focuses on zakat-driven empowerment to combat poverty and foster sustainable development at the grassroots level. By addressing the research problem of how zakat can be leveraged for long-term community development, it fills a critical gap in existing literature. Phenomenologically, the subject of this study encompasses individuals involved in or affected by the Prosperous Village Livestock Program, while the object is the empowerment process facilitated by zakat utilization.

Abstract

The epidemic has had a considerable impact in some Indonesian areas, including Nganjuk and Kediri. In the midst of this economic crisis, the Gusdurian Peduli movement made a significant contribution to those in need, particularly those affected by the epidemic. The Gusdurian Peduli for COVID-19 Action is one of the community activities that helps with COVID-19 management. The Gusdurian Network's philanthropic targets are peripheral groups of people impacted by COVID-19 who are regarded as economically unable. This study employed a field research methodology, whereas this research approach was qualitative. The data used in this study was analyzed using inductive analysis, whereas the data collected was analyzed using descriptive analysis. According to the findings of this study, the Gusdurin Cares campaign plays an important role for people afflicted by COVID-19. It has alleviated the load on those affected by the uncertain economic volatility through its actions and donations.

Abstract

Introduction: This paper explores the role of Islamic values in promoting tolerance and preserving cultural heritage through community empowerment in Kampung Tahu Educational Tourism. The study provides a background on how integrating Islamic principles with local wisdom contributes to sustainable development and strengthens social cohesion. Research Methods: Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis to examine the management strategies employed in empowering the Kampung Tahu community. Results: The findings reveal that the combination of religious values and cultural practices has positively impacted the community’s social and economic dynamics, enhancing unity and cultural preservation. The Kampung Tahu model demonstrates how educational tourism can drive economic growth while maintaining cultural identity. This research offers insights for other regions looking to implement similar strategies, emphasizing the significance of Islamic teachings in fostering harmony and sustainable development. Conclusion: The study concludes that religious and cultural integration is essential for community resilience and prosperity.

Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi digital membuka peluang bagi usaha lokal untuk berkembang melalui e-commerce. Namun, warga Desa Pehserut masih menghadapi kendala dalam memanfaatkan platform seperti Shopee akibat keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan digital. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan digital warga agar dapat memanfaatkan e-commerce dalam memperluas pasar dan meningkatkan pendapatan. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) dengan memanfaatkan potensi dan aset lokal. Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada 27 November 2024 di rumah salah satu warga desa, dengan materi mencakup teknik pemasaran digital, pengelolaan toko di Shopee, serta pemanfaatan fitur promosi. Program ini diikuti oleh 20 peserta yang mayoritas merupakan pemilik usaha kecil dan pelaku UMKM desa. Evaluasi keberhasilan dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan peserta. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa peserta mampu menguasai keterampilan dasar pengelolaan toko online, seperti pembuatan akun, pengaturan produk, dan penggunaan fitur promosi. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman terhadap strategi pemasaran digital, yang tercermin dari peningkatan jumlah produk yang diunggah serta interaksi di platform Shopee pascapelatihan. Pelatihan ini membuktikan bahwa edukasi berbasis aset lokal dapat meningkatkan kapasitas digital warga desa. Untuk keberlanjutan program, disarankan penyelenggaraan pelatihan lanjutan yang lebih mendalam, termasuk pendampingan intensif bagi peserta dalam membangun dan mengembangkan toko online secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of integration of productive zakat and women's empowerment in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on the Kampung Zakat of Besole Village, fostered by BAZNAS Tulungagung Regency. Productive zakat, which is used as business capital for beneficiaries, combined with women's empowerment programs, aims to improve social welfare and economic inclusion. The research method uses a qualitative approach, with data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the integration of productive zakat and women's empowerment has a significant impact on increasing family income, access to education, and women's participation in local economic activities. In addition, this program also supports poverty reduction and gender inequality, which are part of the SDG targets. These findings emphasize the importance of productive zakat as an Islamic financial instrument that can contribute directly to sustainable development, especially in the context of women's empowerment in rural areas.

Abstract

This research examines the implications of the Indonesian Ulema Council's (MUI) Fatwa No. 83 of 2023, which supports the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation, focusing on its theological foundations, the concept of religious moderation, and the dynamics of economic jihad through the boycott of Israeli products. Utilizing a qualitative approach, this study analyzes the fatwa's position within Islamic jurisprudence and its impact on global humanitarian responses to the Israel-Palestine conflict. The findings indicate that the fatwa serves as a non-violent instrument, promoting peace and human rights while advocating for humanitarian aid to Palestine through zakat, Infāq, and donations. It also highlights the potential effects on Indonesia's foreign policy, urging the government to take a firmer stance in international relations regarding Palestine. Furthermore, the study discusses the effectiveness of the boycott as an economic strategy and its moral implications, emphasizing the importance of addressing the humanitarian concerns of civilians in both Israel and Palestine. Overall, the fatwa reflects a balanced approach to supporting the Palestinian cause while adhering to the principles of moderation and compassion inherent in Islam.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the significance of a communal strategy for confronting the global challenge of climate change and fostering sustainable development in the Islamic world. The paper develops a framework for the economic integration of the Islamic world through a review of the literature and case studies of successful countries. The technique employed entails a thorough qualitative examination of pertinent policies, international collaboration, and Islamic principles. The findings show that cross-border collaboration and community empowerment are critical to the Islamic world's economic integration in order to solve climate change. The article also demonstrates how Islamic ideals like amanah, tawhid, and takaful contribute to a community approach to sustainable development. This research has the advantage of providing complete recommendations for Islamic countries and the international community on coping with climate change and fostering sustainable development. The originality of this article lies in its comprehensive approach to economic, environmental, and social issues in the context of the Islamic world. As a result, this paper has the potential to bring fresh perspectives and significance to tackling this critical worldwide issue.

Abstract

This activity aims to provide opportunities for students and lecturers to develop communication skills and become reliable and professional MCs. By involving 30 participants, the training was held on July 17, 2023, with Gendhis Widhi, an expert in the field of Master of Ceremonies and public communications, as speaker. The interactive learning methods used, such as group discussions, simulations, and hands-on exercises, succeeded in increasing the participants' understanding of the training material. The evaluation results showed a high level of satisfaction among the participants. They stated that there was an increase in communication skills and self-confidence after attending the training. The participants also appreciated the selection of experienced presenters and relevant materials. This activity succeeded in creating a generation of students and lecturers who are better prepared to face the challenges of a competitive world of work. With better communication skills, participants are ready to contribute to various events and activities on campus and in the community.

Abstract

Sewing training is one of the effective solutions to empower housewives to be more economically independent. This activity is motivated by the need to improve women's skills in the field of sewing, which can open up small business opportunities, both as home convection and sewing services. By collaborating with Indonesian Taylor as a training partner, this training activity is designed to provide an understanding of basic pattern making and sewing techniques. The training was attended by 10 housewives, held once a week with different locations to maintain participant enthusiasm. The implementation method includes providing theoretical material, pattern making practice, and basic sewing techniques. Mentoring is carried out intensively to ensure that participants can master the skills taught. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' abilities in making simple patterns and sewing. In addition, participants felt motivated to start a small business in the field of home convection. This program has succeeded in providing new skills that are relevant to the economic needs of participants and have the potential to increase family income.
