Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) graduates are prepared to be able to compete in the world of work. To be able to compete, vocational school graduates are expected to have hard skills and soft skills. Likewise, Sakti Gemolong Vocational School tries to provide skills to its students through training. The problem is that to fulfill this, SMK Sakti Gemolong must collaborate with other agencies. Seeing this, the Community Service Team tried to help by providing MS Project training. The aim is to increase knowledge and skills in using project scheduling software. The target is students of Class XI Sakti Gemolong Vocational School, Department of Construction and Property Business (BKP) in Sragen. Activities are carried out in two stages, namely problem identification (preliminary survey to find out the curriculum and competencies), problem-solving approach (using presentation techniques as a lecture method, demonstration and direct practice on the computer as well as evaluation to find out the level of absorption of the material). In carrying out Community Service activities, before training a pre-test is carried out. The results obtained were that 95% of students did not understand how to use MS Project software. Meanwhile, after training, a post-test is carried out. The result was that 91% of students understood how to use MS Project software. From the evaluation results, it shows that there has been an increase in understanding and skills by 86%.

Abstract

After graduating, many vocational school students take part directly in the work. One of them is vocational school students majoring in construction who can immediately work in the world of construction or projects. In the implementation of construction, many work accidents occur which are caused by human factors, because of understanding of the dangers in construction projects. It was recorded by the Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) for Employment that from January to November 2022 there have been 265,334 work accidents in Indonesia. Therefore, students need to be given education about Occupational Health and Safety (K3). The aim is for the graduate to always apply K3 during construction so that graduates do not experience work accidents. Education was carried out through the presentation of material about K3 by the USM PKM team and continued with a question and answer session. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in educational activities. It was shown from a lack of participants who asked questions to the PKM team. Apart from that, the results showed that 81% of the students thought that the PKM material was in line with community needs and that the overall PKM activities provided benefits.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa SMK N 3 Semarang dalam melakukan pengujian daya dukung tanah menggunakan alat Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP). Pengujian DCP merupakan metode sederhana dan efisien untuk menentukan nilai California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tanah dasar yang penting dalam perencanaan konstruksi jalan dan bangunan. Mitra kegiatan, yaitu jurusan Konstruksi Gedung dan Properti SMK N 3 Semarang, menghadapi keterbatasan pemahaman serta pengalaman praktis dalam penggunaan alat uji DCP. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui metode pelatihan yang meliputi pemberian materi teori, demonstrasi penggunaan alat, serta praktik langsung di lapangan. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest guna mengukur peningkatan pemahaman peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa, dengan rata-rata peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 87,88%. Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kesiapan siswa menghadapi dunia kerja di bidang konstruksi serta memperkuat kompetensi praktis dalam pengujian tanah.

Abstract

Volume sampah meningkat seiring dengan kemajuan suatu daerah yang berakibat jumlah laju produksi sampah sering tidak sebanding dengan proses penangananya. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari kebiasaan serta perilaku masyarakat. Permasalahan sampah bukan lagi hanya masalah kebersihan lingkungan saja, tetapi menjadi masalah sosial yang dapat menimbulkan konflik seperti di Kelurahan Tlogosari Kulon Semarang. Salah satu penyelesaianya adalah dengan pembuatan lubang biopori. Manfaat biopori selain untuk resapan air juga sebagai tempat untuk menjadikan sampah organik menjadi pupuk, dengan demikian jumlah sampah oragnik yang ada dapat dikurangi dengan kegiatan ini. Akan tetapi masih banyak masyarakat yang belum dapat membuat biopori dan pupuk kompos dari sampah organik. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini mendorong pemahaman masyarakat dan budaya pengolahan sampah yang tepat guna untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan khususnya di wilayah Kelurahan Tlogosari Kulon. Hasil dari kegiatan pembuatan biopori tersebut adalah masyarakat merasa terbantukan dalam mengolah sampah organik serta mendapatkan manfaat dari pengolahan sampah tersebut.
