Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan dilatar belakangi oleh semakin banyaknya tuntutan masyarakat terhadap perbaikan dan peningkatan mutu pelayanan, untuk mengetahui kepuasan masyarakat terhadap kualitas pelayanan pendidikan dan pelatihan di Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka penulis merasa tertarik untuk mengetahui besarnya Indeks Kepuasan Masyarakat (IKM) yang dimiliki oleh Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya. Berdasarkan tujuan tersebut, penelitian akan difokuskan pada aspek–aspek pelayanan yang diberikan oleh pegawai Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya kepada masyarakat. Adapun aspek-aspek yang diteliti adalah: a. prosedur pelayanan, b. Persyaratan pelayanan, c. Kejelasan petugas pelayanan, d. Kedisplinan petugas pelayanan, e. Tanggung jawab petugas pelayanan, f. Kemampuan petugas pelayanan, g. Kecepatan pelayanan, h. Keadilan mendapatkan pelayanan, i. Kesopanan dan keramahan petugas, j. Kewajaran biaya pelayanan, k. Kepastian biaya pelayanan, l. Kepastian jadwal pelayanan, m. Kenyamanan lingkungan, n. Keamanan pelayanan. Atas dasar itu, maka penulis dapat menyarankan kepada pendidikan politeknik pelayaran surabaya agar dapat tetap mempertahankan mutu pelayanan yang diberikan dan memperbaiki kembali pelayanan-pelayanan yang masih kurang sehingga dapat memuaskan keinginan masyarakat yang menggunakan pendidikan dan pelatihan di Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya

Abstract

Dalam pengoperasiannya, boiler tidak selalu bekerja dengan baik. Boiler mengalami beberapa gangguan yang dapat mengganggu proses untuk memproduksi uap, salah satunya gangguan pada burner. Oleh karena itu diperlukan perawatan yang baik dan benar untuk mengoptimalkan kinerja burner pada boiler. Dalam penyusunan karya ilmiah terapan ini jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis kualitatif deskriptif, dimana metode ini melakukan pengamatan secara langsung terhadap boiler diatas kapal, dengan menanyakan pada orang-orang pada bidangnya, untuk menjelaskan dan mengurai objek yang diteliti dari fakta-fakta di lapangan tentang optimalisasi kinerja ketel uap. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan bahwa kinerja burner yang kurang optimal disebabkan oleh nozzle dan bahan bakar yang kotor, maka dari itu perawatan dan pengecekan burner harus dilakukan dengan rutin. Abstract

The ship engine cooling system is critical for maintaining the operational stability of main and auxiliary machinery. However, biofouling within sea chests and seawater pipelines remains a prevalent issue, leading to flow obstruction, reduced heat transfer efficiency, and potential engine malfunction. While the Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS) is designed to mitigate this via electrolysis, marine growth persisted on MV Ever Clear, indicating suboptimal system performance. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the MGPS in preventing biofouling and to identify factors contributing to its performance degradation. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, data were collected through direct onboard observation, interviews with the engineering crew, and document analysis. Results indicate that the decreased effectiveness was primarily caused by insufficient electrode maintenance, unstable electrical parameters (current and voltage), and inadequate operational monitoring. These deficiencies compromised the electrolysis process, preventing sufficient ion release. It is concluded that MGPS efficacy is contingent upon stable electrical parameters, rigorous preventive maintenance, and consistent operational supervision in accordance with established procedures.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of shipping route optimization on exhaust gas emissions on the KMP Gilimanuk II operating on the Ketapang–Gilimanuk route. The research method used is a quantitative approach utilizing primary and secondary data obtained from the Deck Log Book and Engine Log Book during the sea practice period. Data analysis was carried out by calculating fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions using the Activity-Based Emission Calculation method. The results show that shipping routes influence the amount of fuel consumption and the level of exhaust gas emissions produced by the vessel. Differences in operational conditions such as travel distance, sailing duration, and ship maneuvering cause variations in fuel consumption and emissions on each route. A comparison between Route 3 and Route 19, which have the same sailing time (16 hours), shows that Route 19 produces higher emissions of 2,099.39 kg CO₂e compared to Route 3 which produces 1,994.30 kg CO₂e.Based on these findings, it can be concluded that optimizing shipping routes plays an important role in improving fuel efficiency and reducing ship exhaust gas emissions. Optimization efforts can be carried out through selecting more efficient sailing routes, regulating ship speed at an economical level, and improving operational management of shipping activities.
