Abstract

Port clearance is an important document for ships that will sail. However, in practice, the issuance of port clearance often experiences problems and obstacles. This research aims to determine inhibiting factors, as well as efforts to optimize the issuance of SPB or port clearance. This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive data analysis technique using the fishbone method, and data collection techniques through interviews, documentation, and observations as research data. Referring to the research results, it shows that factors such as negligence in monitoring ship documents and ineffective communication cause delays in the SPB verification and issuance process, which have an impact on delayed ship departure schedules and increased operational costs. Efforts that can be made to mitigate the consequences of the delay in the departure of MT. Samudra Sindo 38 are efforts to improve ship document monitoring and improve internal and external communication to help optimize the SPB issuance process. Thus, these steps are expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of SPB issuance at PT. Taraka Samudera Sejahtera.

Abstract

Technological developments and modern industrial needs increasingly demand high energy efficiency in refrigeration machine operations. In this context, the development of a more efficient cooling machine control system is very necessary. Portable cooler boxes using Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) technology are an innovation to improve the quality and durability of fish caught by fishermen in Surabaya. This research aims to design and test a cooler box that can maintain low temperatures for a long time. This research method uses experimental methods, a series of tools and uses two test plans, namely: static and dynamic testing. The components used are three Peltier elements supported by a 12V 54A power supply, a 10K NTC temperature sensor, and a passive thermal regulator heatsink with fan. Precision testing data on the comparison sensor (thermodigital), obtained an average value of 3.75%. The error value is still categorized as a safe difference value and the tool works according to its function. Test data shows that the Cooler box can maintain a temperature between 5°C to 10°C, this temperature is ideal for slowing down the process of fish spoilage. Testing was carried out by integrating an Arduino Nano for real-time temperature monitoring which is displayed on the LCD and stored on a MicroSD. Test results show that this cooling system is effective in maintaining a stable temperature under various conditions of use, with an electrical energy consumption of 3111.38Wh per 6 hours.

Abstract

This study examines the passage planning process and the application of Risk Assessment Analysis on the MT. Kasim vessel, focusing on the route from Tanjung Gerem to Bengkulu. Through a mixed-method approach, the research identifies and evaluates critical risks in voyage planning. The findings demonstrate that integrating Risk Assessment Analysis into the passage planning process is crucial for enhancing ship safety and operational efficiency. The analysis reveals several key risks, including extreme weather conditions, navigational hazards, and potential technical failures. The study also emphasizes the critical role of the Second Officer in creating the voyage plan, with final oversight and approval from the Captain. In conclusion, the systematic application of Risk Assessment Analysis in passage planning represents a significant best practice in improving maritime safety. Recommendations include regular training, upgrading navigational technology, and developing a comprehensive risk database. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of risk management in the shipping industry and highlights the importance of a proactive approach in ensuring navigational safety.

Abstract

This research aims to design a HFO Settling Tank monitoring simulation tool using an ultrasonic sensor that displays the fuel level in real time and accurately. The research that will be carried out is by utilizing Arduino Uno microcontroller technology and utilizing ultrasonic waves from ultrasonic sensors to determine a height in a tube container. These sensors as inputs will be received by Arduino Uno and the data results from the sensor will be displayed on the LCD and notification from the buzzer. In this study the authors used a research method in the form of the Rnd (Research and Development) method, which begins by analyzing and conducting in-depth research on an object or tool. Then the author designs a tool design which will then validate the design design, and revise the product if the design is deemed insufficient. For the last stage, testing the product, if the tool does not work according to the expected function, a redesign will be carried out. The result of this research is that the ultrasonic sensor is able to detect the height of the simulated container. The results of the detection are processed through Arduino and displayed on the LCD so that all parties can know the water level in the tube container.

Abstract

Loading and unloading activities are activities carried out on land, sea and air (Permenhub). In the field of loading and unloading, one of the loading and unloading companies will be observed, namely the company PT. Berlian Manyar Sejahtera plays a big role in supporting the needs of loading and unloading activities for handling clinker dry bulk cargo. One of the tools that supports clinker dry bulk loading activities is by using a bucket. A bucket is a tool that can support clinker dry bulk loading activities. where this tool functions to transport dry bulk clinker to the truck properly. The research method used is the Quantitative Method which explains Bucket Efficiency in dry bulk clinker loading activities at PT Berlian Manyar Sejahtera. Data collection techniques through observation, documentation, interviews and questionnaires. The results of this research show that buckets are more efficient than using grabs because in the dry bulk loading process the clinker bucket has a target which can be realized according to the target, whereas for grabs the target and income are bigger but cannot be realized properly according to the target. The advice given is to prepare supporting equipment such as grabs and well-maintained buckets because this can support clinker dry bulk loading activities and additional loading and unloading workers are needed so that the clinker dry bulk loading process will be more efficient and faster.

Abstract

Fish is one of the easiest foods to get, but fish easily spoil. So there are 2 methods to extend the life of fish so that they do not experience a spoilage, namely drying and salting. In the 4.0 era, technology is growing rapidly, one of which is IoT-based technology, in order to help all activities carried out by humans to be more effective and efficient. The purpose of this study is to design an automatic salted fish dryer system using the Internet of Things (IoT) and determine the performance effectiveness of salted fish dryers using the Internet of Things (IoT). The research method of this scientific paper uses an experimental method to test the hypothesis that will be proposed and is useful for predicting an event. Data collection techniques using literature study, data collection, needs analysis, application design and application programming as well as algorithm implementation. Based on the results of the research, the design of an automatic salted fish drying equipment system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) has the ability to monitor the movement of the tool through a smartphone. All components of the appliance can operate automatically just by pressing the start button and setting the duration of the time and the existence of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based salted fish drying device can facilitate and streamline the time when the process of drying fish into salted fish. Initially, small anchovies weighing 100 grams were dried for 3 days, but after using a salted fish dryer, the drying process was reduced to 3 hours (09.00 a.m-13.00 p.m) with a moisture content of 18 grams, while small flying fish weighing 100 grams required a drying process for 5 days (09.00 a.m-13.00 p.m) and would have a moisture content of 30 grams in 3 hours after using a salted fish dryer.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the suboptimal performance of hydraulic pump system on hatch cover performance on MV. Emerald Indah using USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) method and data collection techniques in the form of observation, documents, and interview. The purpose of this study is to determine the causes, effect and efforts in solving the problems discussed. The results of the study indicate that several factors cause the hydraulic pump system to not function optimally , including dirty filters, leak in the hydraulic pump and pipe, and operation that is not in accordance with procedures. The effect of the suboptimal hydraulic pressure which ultimately becomes the main problem that inhibits the hatch cover opening process. To overcome this problem, improvements are needed such as periodic filter cleaning, replacement of leaking components, and increasing crew understanding of operational procedures. This research is expected to provide insight for related parties in improving the performanceof the hydraulic pump system and the efficiency of the loading and unloading process on ships.

Abstract

The Influence of Dry Bulk Cargo Discharge Activities on the Occurrence of Short Cargo at PT. Terminal Trluk Lamong Dry bulk unloading activities using grab ship unloaders (GSU) and conveyors often result in an unloading process that differs from the specified loading plan, resulting in a quantity of dry bulk cargo that is lower than stated in the document, known as short cargo.This research uses an associative quantitative method to determine the relationship between loading duration (X1), cargo volume (X2), and short cargo (Y), as well as the simultaneous influence of each factor on short cargo. Multiple linear regression data analysis techniques are used to test the hypothesis, and the data are processed using the SPSS version 27 program. The results showed that unloading duration and cargo volume have a significant, though partial, effect on short cargo. They have an influence of 176.5% and 0.6%, respectively. The variables of loading duration and cargo volume cause short cargo to occur simultaneously. Thus, each factor has an 85.2% simultaneous influence on short cargo, while the remaining 14.8% is influenced by factors outside the scope of the study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the condition of existing activities in loading and unloading at the Teluk Lamong Terminal Port. Also, to find out how the strategy is to increase the effiency of loading and unloading time between the pier and container yard at Teluk Lamong Port based on a comparison of performance before and after the implementation solution. The background of this study based on the importance of operational efficiency of the Port in supporting smooth logistic and increasing the competitiveness of the marine transportation sector. The method used in this study is mix methods, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection was carried out through direct observation, interviews with related parties, field documentation, and statistical analysis using normality, homogeneity, and t-test tests. The findings show that the additional of equipment can significantly reduce loading and unloading process time and increase work effectiveness. Thus, the use of this tool contributes to improving operational performance at Teluk Lamong Terminal and supports faster and more efficient logistic services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the implementation of Supply Chain Resilience(SCR) on customer satisfaction at the Berlian Manyar Sejahtera Terminal, Gresik, which is part of the Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE) area. The background of this study is based on the importance of supply chain resilience in ensuring operational continuity, especially in the dynamic and competitive maritime logistics sector. The study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to terminal service users. The sampling technique used ispurposive sampling, with a total of 30 respondents. The data were analyzed using SPSS software version 27 with a series of statistical tests, including validity, reliability, normality, linearity, heteroscedasticity, simple linear regression, and t test.t. The results of the study show that the implementation ofSupply Chain Resiliencehas a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction. The regression coefficient value of 0.721 indicates that every one unit increase in SCR will increase customer satisfaction by 0.721 units. In addition, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.753 indicates that 75.3% of the variation in customer satisfaction can be explained by the SCR variable. This finding confirms that aspects such as HR readiness, operational flexibility, and coordination and communication in the supply chain have an important role in shaping positive customer perceptions of port services. Thus, increasing supply chain resilience is a key strategy in improving terminal competitiveness.
