Abstract

The research design used is "One Group Pretest-Posttest". The research population found 223 people and the research sample found 49 people, the sampling technique used purposive sampling with the Wilcoxon test. Research on dental knowledge before and before the test was carried out with counseling using roulette with the average value obtained before counseling was 5.31 and before counseling was 8.86. Based on the Wilcoxon test, the Asymp value was obtained. Signature. (2-tailed) 0.000 with a = 0.05 so that p < a. The conclusion of the study was that there was a difference in knowledge of dental procedures before and before counseling with media was carried out on students at MTsN 3 Hulu Sungai Tengah. It is recommended to use effective counseling with this rotating media because it increases dental knowledge in students. Keywords: Knowledge, Dental Media Method, Counseling, Spin Wheel

Abstract

Abstract: The proportion of people's behavior over 3 years old in brushing their teeth every day is 96% but 4-5.6% are doing dental behavior at the right time. One of the efforts to improve health (promotive) is counseling. Of the 10 children sampled for the preliminary study, it was found that 3 children had good knowledge, 3 children had moderate knowledge, and 4 children had less knowledge about teeth. This study aims to determine the effect of media use counseling on the development of dental knowledge in children aged 6-8 years at MIN 14 Banjar Martapura. This type of research is analytical research. This research design is a quasi-experimental. This research is a pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a population of 141 children with a sample of 63 children. The result of dental knowledge research is 6.22 pretest and posttest 1 is 7.46. Knowledge retention is 7, posttest 1 is 7, and posttest 2 is 7,36. Test the effect using Wilcoxon with a value of p = 0.000 and a value of a = 0.05 which means p <a. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of counseling using hand puppet media on the retention of dental knowledge in children aged 6-8 years at MIN 14 Banjar Martapura. Suggestions for conducting counseling, for further researchers need to add other media as a comparison of media that may also affect the development of teeth. Abstract

Based on 2018 Health research, 61.9% of Indonesians aged 55–64 and 54.2% of those over 65 had dental and oral health issues (Sari & Jannah, 2021). Meanwhile, 59% of people in South Kalimantan reported having dental and oral health issues. Just 2.1% of people in the 10–14 age range properly wash their teeth (Basic Health Research, 2020). The behaviour of people still unable to comprehend the significance of maintaining dental and oral health is one of the many factors that contribute the high number of dental and oral disorders. This is demonstrated by the fact that only 8.1% of Indonesians, out of 77.2%, clean their teeth correctly, and that 22.8% of the population does not brush their teeth (Ulfah & Utami, 2020). The focus of this community service project is to help improve the dental and oral health of SDN Antasan Senor Martapura students by using Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) and Fissure Sealant methods as both preventive and curative measures. Cross-sectional analysis and observation are the methods applied. Population represents 65 students classes I through V using total sampling method. After a preliminary assessment of sixty students, it was discovered that fifteen required ART treatment and twenty-three required Fissure Sealant treatment. Optimising dental and oral health using Fissure Sealant methods and ART as preventive and therapeutic treatments for dental and oral health is the suggested solution to this issue. The goal was accomplished since 23 students received Fissure Sealant and 15 students received ART. It is believed that SDN Antasan Senor Martapura is going to experience a decrease in dental caries and a rise in PTI as a result of this community project. To avoid tooth decay at an early age, it is advised that educators, parents, and students pay closer attention to dental and oral health
