Abstract

Waqf plays an important role in advancing the economy and prospering Muslims in many places in the world. The purpose of this study is to analyze the literature related to waqf for poverty alleviation. The method used in this study is a narrative review study, where this method approach is based on the literature review method which is carried out systematically to collect, evaluate, and present findings from various studies conducted by other previous studies. Based on the results of the study revealed that in eradicating poverty, one cannot only depend on zakat. But it is also necessary to rely on waqf, where this can be an alternative in solving the socio-economic problems of the people which include problems of poverty, inequality and increasing costs of living as well as in promoting social welfare in society.

Abstract

This study examines the evolving dimensions of Muslim consumer trust in halal-certified cosmetic products within the context of Islamic economic principles, particularly maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and ethical consumption in the digital era. This study employs a narrative literature review through thematic synthesis of forty-five peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2025. Relevant studies were systematically selected from major academic databases to identify the key determinants shaping Muslim consumer trust. The findings reveal four interconnected dimensions influencing trust formation: religiosity and spiritual identity, halal certification and perceived authenticity, digital engagement and electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM), and eco-consciousness as an extension of the halālan ṭayyiban principle. The study demonstrates that halal trust is no longer shaped solely by certification, but increasingly reinforced through digital interaction, ethical awareness, institutional transparency, and perceived integrity. Halal certification also functions as an institutional governance mechanism that strengthens trust across the broader halal economic ecosystem, including Islamic finance. This study is limited by its reliance on secondary data and narrative synthesis, which may reduce contextual generalizability across different regions and industries. This study proposes an integrative conceptual framework linking religiosity, digital engagement, ethical governance, and halal trust formation within Islamic economics, offering insights for strengthening sustainable and trust-based halal governance systems.

Abstract

Perkembangan layanan Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) dalam ekosistem perdagangan digital telah memperluas akses masyarakat terhadap fasilitas pembiayaan. Di sisi lain, penerapan denda keterlambatan pada layanan tersebut menimbulkan persoalan mengenai kesesuaiannya dengan prinsip-prinsip syariah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis praktik denda keterlambatan pada layanan ShopeePayLater serta menilai kesesuaiannya dengan Fatwa DSN-MUI No. 17/DSN-MUI/IX/2000 tentang Sanksi atas Nasabah Mampu yang Menunda Pembayaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian hukum normatif dengan pendekatan peraturan perundang-undangan (statute approach) dan pendekatan konseptual (conceptual approach). Data penelitian diperoleh melalui studi kepustakaan terhadap fatwa, regulasi, literatur ilmiah, dan ketentuan resmi ShopeePayLater. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa denda keterlambatan pada ShopeePayLater memiliki karakteristik yang lebih dekat dengan konsep ta'zir dan gharamah dibandingkan dengan ta'widh. Dari sisi tujuan, penerapan denda menunjukkan keselarasan dengan fungsi sanksi sebagai instrumen pengendalian dan pendisiplinan. Namun demikian, masih ditemukan persoalan pada aspek penentuan subjek yang dikenai sanksi serta transparansi pengelolaan dana yang berasal dari denda keterlambatan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa praktik denda keterlambatan pada ShopeePayLater menunjukkan kesesuaian yang bersifat parsial terhadap Fatwa DSN-MUI No. 17/DSN-MUI/IX/2000.
