Abstract

This research focuses on phonology. The objective of this study is to dig student’s phonology in reading anecdote story for thefirst grade in junior high school. The research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative. There are two students takento read the anecdote story. Their voice is recorded and analyzed. It is found that the students’ phonology specially in readinganecdote story was both of them still lack in the word of countries [k ʌntris], wearing[w ærin], same [seim], clothes[kl ədz],difficult [di;fik əlt], whether[w əde;r], gentleman [dj əntlm ən], Washington [Wasin tən], tired[t ærd], down [daun].

Abstract

This study deals with Theme and Rheme in A Little Golden Book. The objectives of the research were to find out the most dominant type of theme used in A Little Golden Book especially in My Name is Elmo Series.The sentences in A Little Golden Book: My Name is Elmo Series is 41 sentences used as the source of data in this research. This research was performed by using the descriptive qualitative method. The technique for analyzing data were typing all the sentences in Ms. Word to be printed out, separating each sentences to be analyzed based on the story of pages, analyzing every sentences in the column of the sentence based on the types of theme, classifying the theme based on the type of Simple Theme, calculating the percentage of each theme, finding out the dominant type of theme in A Little Golden Book: My Name is Elmo Series.The findings indicated that Simple Theme there were 87.80% of Theme (Unmarked) and 12.20% of Theme (Marked). It means that the dominant type of Simple Theme in Oprah Winfrey was Theme (Unmarked) that was 87.80%.

Abstract

This study discusses about language use occurred by male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study are male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show. The data are the utterances produced by male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show. This research focuses on the show broadcasted on October 2016 by taking 4 videos randomly. The objective of this study is to describe kinds of the language use uttered by male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show. The findings showed that the kinds of language use consist of 6 parts. The dominant language use uttered by male host is expletive, because male’s utterances are frequently stated in a negative connotation. On the other hand, female host utterances are found in specialized vocabulary as the most dominant because female host has more interest in talking family affairs, such as the education of children, clothes, cooking, and fashion, etc. Women also tended to talk about one thing related to the home and domestic activities. However, the representation of language use uttered by male and female are deficit, dominance and different. Keywords: Language Use, Gender, Talk Show

Abstract

This study discusses about language use occurred by male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show. The research is conducted by applying qualitative descriptive design. The subjects of this study are male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show. The data are the utterances produced by male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show. This research focuses on the show broadcasted on October 2016 by taking 4 videos randomly. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe kinds of the language use uttered by male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show, (2) to elucidate language use represented by male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show and (3) to describe reasons of different language use by male and female host in Hitam Putih talk show in the ways they are. Additionally, the data are analyzed by applying theory of Interactive Model. The findings showed that the kinds of language use consist of 6 parts such as specialized vocabulary, expletives, empty adjectives, tag questions, polite form and telling joke or humor. The dominant language use uttered by male host is expletive, because male’s utterances are frequently stated in a negative connotation. There are common expressions generally referring to English expletives such as: bad language, profanity, swearwords, cursing, foul language, etc. On the other hand, female host utterances are found in specialized vocabulary as the most dominant because female host has more interest in talking family affairs, such as the education of children, clothes, cooking, and fashion, etc. Women also tended to talk about one thing related to the home and domestic activities. However, the representation of language use uttered by male and female are deficit, dominance and different. And the reason of this matter because of some factors such as psychology and different social status.Key words: Language use, Gender, Talk show

Abstract

Setelah munculnya wabah covid-19 dibelahan bumi, sistem pendidikan pun mulai mencari suatu inovasi untuk proses kegiatan mengajar. Terlebih adanya surat edaran dari mentri pendidikan dan kebudayaan yang menganjurkan seluruh kegiatan di institusi pendidikan harus jaga jarak dan seluruh penyampaian materi akan disampaikan dirumah masing-masing. Ada beberapa metode yang dipakai, project based learning, daring method, luring method, home visit method, integrated curriculum, blended learning, pembelajaran melalui radio.

Abstract

Bimbingan merupakan proses membantu orang perorangan dalam memahami dirinya sendiri dan lingkungan hidupnya dan konseling diartikan sebagai suatu proses interaksi yang membantu pemahaman diri dan lingkuangan dengan penuh berarti, dan menghasilkan pembentukan atau penjelasan tujuan-tujuan dan nilai perilaku di masa mendatang. Bertumpu pada pengertian diatas, bimbingan dan konseling akan sangat membantu lancaranya proses pembelajaran dalam suatu lembaga pendidikan, apalagi pada masa sekarang ini, dimana para kaum muda sudah banyak sekali mengalami problematika-problematika kehidupan. Keadaan seperti ini sangat sekali membutuhkan suatu wadah(bimbingan dan konseling terutama di sekolah) untuk mampu membantu para kaum muda agar ia bisa mengatasi problematika yang ada sehingga ia bisa terus mengembangkan potensi yang dimilikinya secara optimal. Dalam makalah ini, penulis akan memaparkan secara khusus peran bimbingan dan konseling dalam sekolah. Karena dari beberapa literature yang penulis temukan, bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah sangat berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan tercapainya tujuan dari pendidikan. Selain itu juga sangat jarang sekali ditemukan bimbingan-bimbingan di luar institusi pendidikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perkembangan intelektual, sosial dan bahasa remaja terhadap tingkah laku siswa SD Negeri Kandang Mbelang. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik observasi dalam menggali data yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Kemampuan kognitif siswa memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap proses pembelajaran di sekolah, dan memiliki pengaruh terhadap tingkah laku dan kepribadiannya. (2) Pengaruh pergaulan sangat berpengaruh terhadap tingkah laku siswa. Anak yang berteman dengan siswa yang menunjukkan sikap dan kelakuan yang baik, maka perilaku anak tersebut juga terpengaruh ke dalam kelakuan yang baik. (3) Dengan memakai bahasa yang baik serta benar dan cara penyampaian yang santun disertai intonasi yang tepat, akan membuktikan kepada orang lain bahwa kita memiliki perilaku yang baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih dekat bagaimana proses pengurusan perpanjangan sertifikat konstruksi kapal pada kantor KSOP (Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan) Kelas I Dumai oleh PT. Wasaka Indonesia Jaya Dumai. Konstruksi kapal merupakan proses pembangunan kapal di galangan kapal yang didahului oleh desain dan dilanjutkan dengan pembangunan konstruksi kapal yang diawali dengan peletakan lunas, dilanjutkan dengan konstruksi rangka gading-gading, geladak, anjungan, kulit kapal. Sertifikat konstruksi kapal merupakan salah satu surat penting yang harus dimiliki oleh pemilik perusahaan angkutan laut. Sertifikat konstruksi ini dikeluarkan oleh Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut untuk kapal yang telah memenuhi persyaratan material, konstruksi, bangunan, permesinan dan pelistrikan, stabilitas, dan elektronika kapal berdasarkan hasil pengujian dan pemeriksaan.Masa berlaku sertifikat Keselamatan Konstruksi adalah 1 tahun, (masa berlaku akan menjadi 5 tahun dengan melaksanakan annual survey dan di-endorst). Annual Survey adalah survey yang dilakukan secara umum, terhadap struktur peralatan, system penyambungan dan penataan, sedangkan di endorst adalah di cap atau ditanda tangani oleh suatu Lembaga yang memeriksa sertifikat tersebut. Tata cara perpanjangan sertifikat konstruksi kapal dimulai dari surat permohonan dari pemohon serta menyampaikan kepada kepala kantor KSOP, memverifikasi persyaratan dokumen, mendisposisikan kepada Marine Inspector, meneliti Keabsahan Dokumen, melaksanakan Pemeriksaan Kapal dan membuat Laporan PMR kepada kepala sesi, memverifikasi keabsahan dokumen, hasil pemeriksaan, dan memproses penerbitan surat/ dokumen kapal, menyetujui dan menandatangani surat/ dokumen, menerima slip setoran, membuat nomor surat dan mendistribusikan kepada pemohon.

Abstract

Speaking is one way to communicate which ideas and thought as a message orally. This study focused on teaching method that implemented by a teacher while teaching speaking skill in senior high school. The research applied interview and observation method to conduct this study. The finding of this research was the teacher often implement the role play method while delivering speaking material since its really appropriate to the situation class and student interested. Furthermore role play was variety of activities in which students are provided with information presented in role cards that guide them to simulate real world given the freedom to choose the language they use and develop the personalities and the situations as they wish to make the activity enjoyable and successful as much as possible. Clearly, role play has many advantages, such as; acting requires the use of language. Hence learners will develop their ability of communicating and it provides spontaneous use of language during interaction

Abstract

Penguasaan istilah bidang kepelabuhan dan kelautan dalam bahasa asing, baik transportasi ataupun alat-alat pendukung lainnya, dapat meningkatkan kulitas bahasa masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meliihat kemampuan masyarakat pesisir di Pelabuhan Tanjung Tiram. Penelitian ini di laksanakan di Desa Bandar Rahmat Kecamatan Tanjung Tiram. Adapun jumlah sample yang diambil sebnyak 25 orang di pelabuhan Tanjung Tiram yang dipilih secara acak. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode ceramah dan metode praktikum secara langsung. Hasil dari penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa peserta memiliki kemampuan yan g cukup baik dalam hal mengingat kosa kata istilah-istilah Bahasa asing. Masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan hal tersebut dengan mengenalkan transpotasi kapal penyeberangan antardesa dengan menggunakan bahasa asing kepada pengunjung.
