Abstract

The Church is a community of all God's people, namely all believers who have received baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and have been united with God the Father through the person of Jesus Christ. As believers, we are called and sent to continue the work of Jesus Christ in the world. This call and mission came from Jesus Christ when He sent His disciples to preach the Gospel throughout the world. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you. And know that I am with you always until the end of time (Matt. 28:19-20).” In continuing Her work, the Church hopes that all of God's people will take part. The Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), produced sixteen documents and one of them was the Decree on the Apostolate of the Laity (Apostolicam Actuositatem). In the Lay Apostolate Decree, lay people are called to apostolate. Lay apostolate is a form of involvement of lay people to take part in the Tritasks of Christ, namely as Priest, Prophet and King. Lay people have duties and responsibilities in actualizing their faith through the work and tasks they carry out every day. The faith lived must be expressed and practiced. In actualizing faith, lay people can carry it out through various areas of life, including: in the Church, family, social environment and politics, both nationally and internationally. The involvement of lay people in various areas of life, the Church hopes that their presence will be salt and light for the world. The laity always strive to fight for the common welfare with the spirit of the Gospel. So that with its presence, the Kingdom of God becomes more real in the world and becomes a blessing for many people and becomes the glory of God's name. In this way, the world increasingly knows, accepts and acknowledges Jesus Christ as the only way to the Father because He is the only goal of life.

Abstract

The group investigation type cooperative learning method is a cooperative learning model that is based on group discussions and involves students in small groups, compiling material and creating a learning environment that allows students to be brave and appear confident in expressing ideas or opinions, enjoy collaborating, actively participating. , so that students get a meaningful learning experience. The group investigation type learning method encourages students to be actively involved in learning planning from the beginning to the end of the learning process. This research was carried out using a literature review approach, where the researcher tried to examine ideas about group investigation type cooperative learning methods from many references. It was found in the research that the application of the group investigation type cooperative learning method contributed to student learning achievement. This learning method succeeds in creating an active learning environment and helps students to work cooperatively in solving problems. Apart from that, this learning method can grow students' thinking abilities and provide opportunities to learn more meaningfully in a social context with their group friends. Because of this, according to researchers, the group investigation type cooperative learning method should be the teacher's choice in the learning process.

Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PBL) method in enhancing student learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education and Character Education in Phase D for ninth-grade students at UPTD Negeri 3 Lolofitu Moi. Using a quantitative approach, this study involved 10 students from the school and employed an experimental design to analyze the impact of PBL on understanding the material related to Rights and Obligations as Members of the Church and Society. Data were collected through observations of teacher activities, student activities based on observation sheets, group discussions, the learning process, and the completion of student worksheets. The results showed that teacher activity in implementing PBL improved from 68.7% (good) to 98.8% (excellent). The findings indicate a significant increase in quiz test scores, from 50% (good) student mastery to 90% (excellent), suggesting progress in material comprehension. Further observations revealed that student engagement in the learning process and group discussions increased from 68.7% (good) to 98.4% (excellent), which not only enriched their learning experience but also developed collaborative skills and critical thinking. These findings confirm that the PBL method, with a focus on collaborative learning, can be an effective strategy for enhancing learning outcomes and student motivation in religious education. This study recommends the broader implementation of the PBL method in religious education curricula, as well as further research to explore other variables that may influence student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning interest through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) aided by PowerPoint in the subject of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) with the topic of Jesus' Passion and Death for 8th-grade students at SMP N 11 Putussibau. The background of this research is the low student interest and understanding of the material. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, where each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results show that the PBL method with PowerPoint media can enhance students' interest, understanding, and skills. In cycle I, the observation results showed that students' learning interest was still in the sufficient category, but significantly increased in cycle II after improvements were made. The average cognitive score of students increased from 78 in cycle I to 87 in cycle II, while affective and psychomotor scores also showed significant improvements. This improvement is also evident in the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) dimension, especially in the aspect of Faith in God Almighty and Noble Morality. This, the application of the PBL method with PowerPoint media proved to be effective in improving the quality of learning and students' interest in the Passion and Death of Jesus topic.

Abstract

This research aims to increase students' learning interest in the subject of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education through the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) using Canva media in the 8th grade at SMP N 11 Ngabang. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The results showed that the implementation of PBL with Canva media was able to improve students' interest and engagement in learning, as well as enhance their understanding of the material. By the end of the second cycle, 80% of students showed increased learning interest, and 75% actively participated in learning activities. This improvement was also reflected in the evaluation results, where 80% of students demonstrated a good understanding of the material. Thus, PBL with Canva media can be an effective alternative to improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

This writing originates from the author's concerns or the reality of the laity's unawareness of their identity or existence as members of the Church. The author sees a lack of involvement of the laity both within the Church and outside the Church. The main issues raised by the author are who lay people are and how a lay believer finds his or her identity as a true Catholic both within the Church and outside the Church. The purpose of this writing is to deepen the understanding of lay people finding their identity as well as their duties and involvement. Meanwhile, the method used in this thesis is literature review, namely studying the theme of this thesis by utilizing ideas and discussions from books, journals, encyclopedias, Church documents, the internet and other literature. The results of the discussion obtained are that lay people are all Christian believers except those classified as priests or religious recognized by the Church. So, Christian believers who, thanks to baptism, have become God's people in their own way share in carrying out the priestly, prophetic and royal duties of Christ. The characteristic of the laity is their worldly nature. Lay people are invited to be more active and committed in carrying out their vocation, both in the internal life of the Church and the world, bringing a positive impact and Christian values ​​in all aspects of life.

Abstract

The research entitled, "The View of the Catholic Church on the reality of Elopement at the Santa Odilia Balohili Simanaere Station of the Holy Cross Parish of West Nias" intends to find out the reality of eloping at the Santa Odilia Balohili Simanaere Station, West Nias Holy Cross Parish. Marriage is a lifelong alliance between a man and a woman in forming a family. However marriage cannot always be carried out by someone. Some of these marriages were held because they did not get the consent of their parents and because the dowry/honesty was so large. The reality today is that there are many marriages or marriages that are held outside the authority of the Catholic Church, such as underage marriages, elopements, and secret marriages that are only recognized by government law. This study intends to explain and describe the main reasons why members of the Santa Odilia Balohili Simanaere Stasi made the decision to elope in forming a new family.

Abstract

God created human being in His Image and endowed them with the holy dignity. The women has a special call to be a mother. This vocation united with noble aspects of motherhood and virginity. The understanding of motherhood and virginity is sometimes not appreciated as a special gift. Consequently, the vocation of motherhood is marked by discrimination and violence against women. The aim of writing this research is to explore the noble aspects of women as motherhood and the virginity. This will open new understanding and awareness to respect women on their vocation as a mother or a nun. To explore this research, the researcher uses library research method. The researcher collects various sources and analyzes them systematically. The researcher explores aspects of motherhood and virginity and relates it to the figure of Mary both mother and virgin. These two dimensions unite in the person of Mary who was chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus. To explain aspects of motherhood and virginity, the researcher explores the document Mulieris Dignitatem. Women as the image of God have the privilege of motherhood and virginity like Mary. This dimensions of Mary are important spirituality on this present time. The implication of this research will open new understanding and awareness on dimension of motherhood and virginity which often underappreciated and abused. This research aim will empower the spirit of the dimensions of motherhood and virginity as the dignity of women and measured of image of God.

Abstract

In the Code of Canon Law, marriage between different churches and different religions is prohibited in the Catholic church. This prohibition does not mean prohibiting people from marrying in different churches. People who wish to marry in a different church must provide a reasonable reason to obtain permission from the local area. Catholics in mixed marriages with different churches. Based on research results found in the field, at first glance it is far from what the church wants. This mixed marriage couple belonging to different churches stated that the moral obligation to pass on the faith according to Catholic beliefs to their children was not successful. To be clear, they made many attempts, but none of them succeeded. In fact, these children did not receive an education based on Catholic beliefs at home, because they were baptized and educated according to Protestant beliefs. Based on the facts above, the church must participate in assisting them to obtain education based on Catholic beliefs. The Church should give serious attention to accompanying and providing pastoral care to mixed-married families. This kind of assistance can be a reinforcement for Catholics to maintain and transmit the faith based on Catholic beliefs to their children.
