Abstract

Antioxidant compounds can reduce the adverse effects on the skin due to the presence of free radicals. One of the plants that contain antioxidants is guava red leaves (Psidium guajava L) which in the past, the Bengkulu community, especially young women, often used guava leaves as a face mask that was pounded and rubbed on the face. There are developments in the times that demand everything in a more practical form so that the aim of the study was to find out whther the formulation of a gel mask from guajava leaf met the physical requirements for a gel mask. The method in this study uses an experimental method, which begins with the extraction of red guajava leaf using the maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Gel masks were made with various concentrations of guava leaf extract F0 0%, F1 3%, F2 6% and F3 9%. Further evaluation of the preparations included Organoleptic Test, Homogeneity Test, pH Test, Spreadability Test, Viscosity Test, Irritation Test, Adhesion Test, Dry Time Test and Hedonic Test. The evaluation results show that the four formulas have met the required evaluation requirements.

Abstract

Health promotion activities between lecturers and students have been carried out at one of the elementary schools in Bengkulu City. This activity aims to provide information to students of SDN 15 Bengkulu City on the importance of vitamin C in terms of benefits, dosage, and signs of deficiency. This health promotion activity was carried out in collaboration with teachers and students of SDN 15 Bengkulu City. The form of activities that we carry out is delivering information on how to maintain endurance by utilising vitamin C. Using power points and forms of service, we provide samples of vitamin C, posters, snacks, and desserts. As well as questionnaires for students about how to maintain endurance by utilising vitamin C. All forms of efforts made can help students know and understand the kinds of ways to maintain endurance by utilising vitamin C. The results of the implementation activities that have been carried out on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, make students of SDN 15 Bengkulu City start to get used to eating fruits and vegetables and supplements that contain vitamin C. After the promotion, students can learn about the benefits of vitamin C found in many fruits, vegetables, and supplements.

Abstract

Siwalan tree or commonly referred to as palm tree (Borassus flabellifer) is a type of palm (areca nut) that grows in Southeast Asia and South Asia. Palm fruit has many benefits, one of which is that it can be processed into a variety of foods. This encoding program aims to determine the benefits of palm fruit and the processing of palm fruit can be in making pudding. The type of service carried out is experimental descriptive education. The sample used in this study was palm fruit and the result was in the form of pudding then organoleptic test to 10-15 respondents. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that lontar fruit pudding is favored by the majority of corensponden bai k in terms of taste, aroma and color so that it can be used as a business opportunity for the community. Abstract

Butterfly pea flower is a plant that has many pharmacological benefits, including antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic, antidiabetic, anticancer, antihistamine and immunomodulator. The results of phytochemical screening of telang flower leaves are contain secondary metabolites is flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, quinones, polyphenolates, triterpenoids and steroids. The presence of flavonoid compounds in butterfly pea flowers allows for antioxidant activity. The aim of this research to determine the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract butterfly pea flower leaves (Clitoria ternate L.) using DPPH method. Simplicia butterfly pea flower leaves (Clitoria ternate L.) were extracted using maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. The extract obtained was antioxidant test using spectrophotometry UV-VIS with a wavelength of 517 nm. The data obtained for the antioxidant activity value and expressed as IC50 (inhibition concentration) value which shows the concentration of antioxidant compound that inhibit 50% of DPPH radical activity. The results of the research show that ethanol extract of butterfly pea flowers leaves (Clitoria ternate L.) has the ability to act as a very strong antioxidant with an IC50 value of 6,056 ppm.

Abstract

Anggur laut (Caulerpa racemosa) adalah salah satu jenis alga laut berbentuk seperti anggur dan sering sekali dimanfaatkan masyarakat sebagai lalapan dan bahan obat tradisional. Anggur laut juga termasuk tumbuhan yang mengandung senyawa aktif sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan obat dan sebagai antibakteri yang mempunyai senyawa alkaloid, saponin, flavonid dan tanin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah penetapan dari kadar flavonoid serta menguji ekstrak anggur laut sebagai antibakteri dari pantai air lengkap kabupaten kaur. Metode yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini adalah maserasi. Maserasi adalah metode yang mudah dimana memasukan serbuk simplisia menggunakan pelarut tertentu dan membiarkannya pada suhu ruangan selama beberapa hari serta terlindung dari paparan sinar matahari langsung. Metode dalam menganalisis Kadar flavonoid menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Metode difusi digunakan dalam Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dimana kertas cakram yang digunakan berukuran 6 mm. Dari hasil skrining fitokimia terdapat kandungan senyawa flavonoid, alkaloid dan steroid pada ekstrak anggur laut. Pengukuran kadar flavonoid menggunakan pembanding kuersetin dan didapatkan persamaan garis lurus y=0,07048x-0,0428 dan R2= 0,9893 diperoleh kadar flavonoid ekstrak anggur laut 1,611 %. Ekstrak anggur laut mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staipylococcus Aiureus pada konsentrasi 40%, 60% dan 80% dengan diameter zona hambat adalah 3,06; 3,81 dan 4,98 mm dimana kekuatan yang masih relatif lemah
