Human being having a conscience and freedom to determine what is good and performing actions according to God's will. In today's era, phenomena show that human being sometimes ignores the Divine law and do not listen to their conscience. These acts of infidelity drive a human being to fall into sin and live contradict according to God's will. However, God through the Holy Church always gives the human being the opportunity to revert to God. The Church provides the special opportunity to repent, explicitly through the Sacrament of Reconciliation . It was emphasized by St. John XXIII in the Encyclical Paenitentiam Agere. The method used is a literature study, especially studying the Encyclical Paenitentiam Agere. The results of the study show that the spirit of repentance as proclaimed in the Encyclical Paenitentiam Agere says that only through repentance the Christians will nurture in the perfection of life. The repentance according to St. John XXIII is a repentance of the body and soul. The conclusion of this study confirms that inner repentance is a repentance carried out by Christians through a good confession of sins and taking part in the Eucharistic sacrifice and receiving holy communion. Inner repentance is realized in everyday life through daily actions called external repentance. By doing external and internal repentance, the Christians will obtain true happiness and salvation from God.

Abstract

Lay Christian believers are members of the Church who have been united through the sacrament of baptism and are called to take an active part in the life of the Church. Their role is reflected in their participation in Christ's threefold mission: as prophets who proclaim the faith, as priests who participate in the sanctification effort, and as kings who serve others with a spirit of loving service. This thesis specifically examines the rights and obligations of lay people as regulated in the Code of Canon Law, particularly canons 225–226, which emphasize their responsibility in realizing the Church's mission in the world. These rights and obligations form the basis for lay people to play a role in building the mystical body of Christ, while also expanding the proclamation of the Gospel Good News so that more people can experience the grace of salvation. This research uses a literature review method by referring to various theoretical sources, including Church documents, books, scientific journals, and other relevant literature, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the position, role, and contribution of lay people in the dynamics of contemporary Church life.

Abstract

Adolescents are at an emotionally unstable age and need social recognition and self-existence. Biologically, adolescents experience significant development of sex hormones such as testosterone and progesterone, leading to an increased attraction to the opposite sex. Socially, adolescents are highly vulnerable to entering the youth community and engaging in various juvenile delinquency activities. Therefore, sex education is necessary for adolescents to prevent promiscuity and prepare them for marriage. This study explores the importance of scientific knowledge and character in strengthening loyalty to their marriage vows. The research applies a survey method. Quantitative data are obtained from the results of the questionnaire. Data collection through personal interviews and group meetings with young people and families in St. Boniface Parish, Alasa, and Christ the King Gidӧ Parish are useful factors in this study.  The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The result showed science education, character and moral values, especially husband and wife morals, are fundamental in maintaining the sanctity of marriage. The virtues of life, especially morals, encourage a person to behave appropriately and correctly by applying moral values.
