Abstract

Good quality children are closely related to optimal growth and development, especially in the three first years of life (toddler). The Covid-19 pandemic condition affects the level of parental visits to health facilities, thereby reducing the frequency of monitoring of child development by health workers. This condition increases the risk of delaying the discovery of a child's developmental disorder. Or community service activity is carried out to increase parental participation in screening and stimulating child development independently. The activity was carried out at the Delima Posyandu (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu) in the Puskesmas Gribig, area of Malang City in October 2021. The children involved in this activity were 12-36 months old, accompanied by parents or primary caregivers, and in healthy condition. Children suffering from acute illnesses such as fever, cough, diarrhea were not included in this activity. The activities consist of screening children's development with the Developmental Pre-Screening Questionnaire (KPSP) instrument and providing education with booklet media to parents on how to screen and stimulate development independently. Education was conducted on 24 parents individually and the results of developmental examinations showed that the majority of children had normal development or appropriate with their age, but more than a third of children had a doubt and delayed development. These results need to be a concern for health workers and “kader” to monitor the development of children in the area, especially those who have been detected had a doubt and delayed development

Abstract

Family-Centered Care (FCC) is needed in nursing care for children with critical illnesses in the PICU, but the implementation of FCC has yet to be effective. This is due to family visit restrictions, direct care involvement, and decision-making. Family- Centered Rounds (FCR) are a multidisciplinary professional approach to decision-making by facilitating family involvement in medical decision-making. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing FCR in the PICU on patients' parents' satisfaction. This study used a quantitative experimental design in which Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) design with a post-test-only control group was used. Sixty-four parents of patients in the PICU unit at RSCM were recruited by consecutive sampling and randomly assigned to two treatments (room standard intervention for the control group and FCR for the intervention group). Treatment in both groups was carried out for two days then the satisfaction level of parent respondents was measured using the Pediatric Family Satisfaction in intensive care Unit 24 (pFS-ICU 24). Bivariate analysis used an independent t-test to analyze differences in family satisfaction scores in both groups. Statistically, there was a significant difference in the mean score of patient family satisfaction between groups with FCR and no FCR with p=0.001 (p<0.05). It was concluded that FCR was effectively carried out, which impacted increasing the satisfaction of the patient's parents. FCR is very effectively implemented in the PICU unit as a development of the application of the FCC concept, which can benefit the patient's family.

Abstract

Background: Health promotion regarding the provision of nutrition to children who experience stunting is closely related to the role of mothers in using their knowledge, belief and abilities in improving nutrition and fulfilling adequate nutrition in children. Objective: to analyze the ability of mothers to fulfill nutrition in children aged 6-24 months who are stunted. Method: the research design used a quasy-experiment with a pre-test post-test control group design approach with a sample size of 114 mothers with stunted children who were taken using a random technique with cluster sampling. The independent variable in this study is health promotion based on the health promotion model and the dependent variable is the mother's ability to fulfill nutrition in children aged 6-24 months who are stunted. The research instrument used a questionnaire for each variable. Data analysis in this study is the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney. Result The ability of mothers to fulfill nutrition in children aged 6-24 months who experience stunting with indicators of continuity of breastfeeding 74.636.85 (p-value = 0.000), food preparation and processing 95.105.35 (p-value = 0.000), complementary feeding 87.316.89 (p-value=0.000) and responsive feeding 87.927.27 (p-value=0.000) and there is a difference between the treatment group and the control group regarding the mother's ability to fulfillment of nutrition in stunted children with a p-value of 0.000 Conclusion: there is a significant difference in the ability of mothers to fulfill nutrition in stunted children
