Abstract

Indonesian people are increasingly aware of the importance of English language skills. Not only in communicating academically but also in communication that occurs daily as a result of the increasing flow of information through various media. For people who have access to a place to learn and practice English skills, of course, they will be able to master their skills more effectively. But not with school students who have to study online where not all students have sufficient facilities and access to learn and practice English. For less fortunate students, such as residents of orphanages, mentoring and training activities, both academic and non-academic, they need. So this Community Service activity was carried out. English language training for orphans and poor people was held at the Mutiara Bani Sholihin Orphanage. This activity uses the Quantum teaching method where this method fosters an atmosphere of togetherness, comfort and calmness in learning. Then at the end of this activity session, an evaluation of the material that has been implemented is carried out to measure learning achievement.

Abstract

Training as well as digital marketing guidance has been held for the disability community VirageAwie in Cimareme Village, Ngamprah District, West Bandung Regency. This activity aims to increase knowledge and skills in digital marketing, especially for disability community members. The program starts with FGD to identify problems, then to be continued with VirageAwie.com website creation and training themed Digital Marketing Introducing Business Through Social Media Content. Training covers discussion about marketing through social media, methods photography, videography, and product promotion. Findings show the existence of significant improvement in participants' understanding about digital marketing as well as their ability to use digital platforms to enlarge market reach. A good influence was seen in the increased ability and independent financial sustainability of the participants. This initiative needs more cooperation continued with communities, academics, and government to strengthen network marketing as well as quality power work, so that VirageAwie products can compete in the local to global market.

Abstract

This qualitative case study research analyzes TVRI West Java’s strategy in utilizing youtube podcasts to build a positive image as a Public Broadcasting Institution (LPP). Furthermore, this study identifies the challenges and successes in integrating digital content. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews with the new media content management, observation of the podcasts content, and documentation studies, then analyzed using data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, and validated by triangulation. The results indicate that the utilization of youtube podcasts is a highly effective media convergence strategy. The platform not only disseminates content but also successfully creates a new image that is more modern, relevant, and accessible, especially among the young audience. This strategy significantly strengthens TVRI West Java’s position amid digital media competition, demonstrating the LPP’s adaptability, and allows for a more personal reach to the audience.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola komunikasi organisasi di Divisi Pemberitaan TVRI Jawa Barat sebagai upaya mempertahankan eksistensi lembaga penyiaran publik di tengah persaingan media digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap pihak-pihak yang terlibat langsung dalam aktivitas pemberitaan di TVRI Jawa Barat. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman dengan mengaitkan temuan penelitian pada teori komunikasi organisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola komunikasi vertikal satu arah yang sebelumnya diterapkan cenderung menimbulkan hambatan komunikasi, memperlambat pengambilan keputusan, serta membatasi ruang partisipasi staf dalam proses produksi berita. Seiring dengan perubahan lingkungan media, TVRI Jawa Barat mulai melakukan transformasi pola komunikasi menjadi komunikasi dua arah yang lebih partisipatif. Perubahan ini mendorong peningkatan koordinasi kerja, terbukanya arus ide dan gagasan, serta lahirnya inovasi konten yang relevan dengan karakteristik audiens digital. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada pemahaman bahwa transformasi pola komunikasi organisasi yang dialogis dan adaptif menjadi faktor strategis dalam menjaga eksistensi dan relevansi lembaga penyiaran publik di era konvergensi media.

Abstract

The Tani Ruwatan Ritual is a form of local wisdom still maintained by indigenous believers in Kampung Cibedug, Cikole Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency. This ritual not only functions as an expression of gratitude for agricultural yields, but also serves as a medium of cultural communication representing the harmonious relationship among humans, nature, and God. This study aims to analyze how the meaning of the Tani Ruwatan ritual is constructed through communication interaction between indigenous believers and non-believers. The study employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann's social construction model, which includes the processes of externalization, objectivation, and internalization. The results show that the meaning of the ritual is built through cultural symbols, collective experience, and intergenerational communication that continues to be passed down. On the other hand, the indigenous believers adapt their communication through collaboration with the Muslim community and the utilization of digital media to broaden public understanding without eliminating the sacred values of the ritual. This study contributes to the development of cultural communication studies, particularly regarding the process of constructing local cultural meanings in a multicultural society amidst social change influenced by modernization and information technology development.
