Abstract

In this modern era, cities play an important role in the country's development strategy, urban planners and designers and all stakeholders build a strong image and reputation in order to compete between cities and introduce them to the world for sources of regional cash income. City branding is one of the city's strategies to display uniqueness so that it is easily recognized and as a differentiator between a city. Currently, many cities in Indonesia have implemented a city ​​branding strategy and some have mascots as part of their city ​​branding. Mascot is part of the visualization of city ​​branding which has a role to strengthen brand identity. Malang City is one of the big cities in Indonesia that has implemented a city ​​branding strategy, namely Beautiful Malang. The city of Malang also has a mascot which is part of the city ​​branding of the city of Malang, namely the mascot of Osiji which is the official mascot of the Malang City government. This research is a study that examines the Osiji mascot in terms of its application. This study discusses the use of the Osiji mascot as part of the city ​​branding strategy of Malang City and how the visual perception arises from the application of the mascot. The purpose of this research is to find out the strategy that has been implemented by the Malang city government in applying the Osiji mascot as part of the city ​​branding of Malang City and to know the visual perception created from the application of the Osiji mascot. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The theory used in this research is Gestalt's theory of visual perception and Anholt's The City Brand Hexagon theory. The final results in this study indicate that the city ​​branding of Malang through Osiji is considered less than optimal so that the popularity of Osiji has not been able to strengthen the positive image of Malang City. The low popularity of the Osiji mascot is due to the application strategy that does not consider the design principles and concepts of city ​​branding.

Abstract

Brand lokal Indonesia di dunia produk kecantikan semakin memperluas pangsa pasarnya melalui berbagai ide kreatif dan ide yang baru. Tepat pada tanggal 27 Agustus 2022 produsen brand lokal bernama Dear Me Beauty melakukan kolaborasi kedua kalinya dengan brand ternama yaitu KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) tak hanya dengan KFC tetapi juga dengan brand – brand dan merk ternama yang sudah lebih dulu dikenal namanya di masyarakat yang mana mampu memikat konsumen dalam memilih dan berbelanja produk tersebut. Strategi menggunakan cara kolaborasi merupakan salah satu cara yang dinilai berpotensi memberikan profit yang lebih baik dari aktivitas penjualan produk atau layanan yang diberikan. . Metode riset yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan melakukan pendekatan kualitatif dan dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan metode Miles dan Huberman. Dalam dunia seni dan desain, peristiwa kolaborasi desain dan merk mampu memikat target konsumen yang luas, meningkatkan Brand Awarness terhadap produk dan merk itu sendiri, dan memiliki keunikan dan estetika sehingga menjadi ciri khas dalam merk tersebut. Kolaborasi desain menjadi salah satu cara dalam menciptakan seni dan desain agar menjadi penyegar dalam menarik minat daya beli terhadap target marketnya. Oleh sebab itu hal ini perlu dikaji lebih dalam, serta dapat digunakan dan diterapkan dalam strategi branding pemasaran untuk produk-produk lainnya yang memiliki kesempatan dalam berkolaborasi.

Abstract

Indonesia kaya akan warisan budaya dan objek wisata yang saat ini semakin banyak dicari oleh wisatawan baik wisatawan dalam negeri maupun wisatawan luar negeri. Salah satu di antaranya adalah asset berharga yaitu bangunan cagar budaya yang banyak mengandung pelajaraan bersejarah pada bangunan tersebut, dan perlu untuk dijaga kelastaiannya. Surabaya memiliki banyak bangunan cagar budaya, khususnya Surabaya Utara. Akan tetapi media yang menginformasikan dan mendokumentasikan bangunan-bangunan ini sangat minim. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang berbasis perancangan yang bertujuan untuk merancang buku ilustrasi mengenai bangunan cagar budaya sebagai upaya untuk melestarikan sekaligus meningkatkan eksistensi aset budaya milik Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian ini berbentuk buku ilustrasi yang terdiri dari 48 halaman berisi tentang informasi-informasi bangunan cagar budaya yang ada di Surabaya Utara.

Abstract

In a community, there is something that is important and has a function as a comparison between one community and another, namely the presence of a logo. The founding of the Tanda Mata Kreatif community began with the desire of Ari Nanda Suria as Chair of Tanda Mata Kreatif to develop potential and interest in filmmaking and enrich culture through audio-visual media so that Tanda Mata Kreatif becomes a forum for students who have an interest in the world of film. However, the Tanda Mata Kreatif community does not have a permanent logo identity so this community is difficult to recognize for students or students to join. Therefore, it is necessary to study the literature to design the right logo for the Tanda Mata Kreatif Sign community and apply qualitative methods to analyze branding in the Tanda Mata Kreatif Sign community. This research explains the logo design process for the Tanda Mata Kreatif Sign community. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with interview and observation collection techniques. Analysis was carried out in three stages: data collection, reduction, and presentation. The results of the research are logos, visual identities, and supporting media for the Tanda Mata Kreatif community.

Abstract

Bis Mania Community is a community of bus lovers, especially regional coordinators in Surabaya, which was founded in 2012. In 2024, precisely on November 10, 2024, Bis Mania Community held its 12th Anniversary in Tulungagung. In celebrating this 12th Anniversary not only organizes Family Gathering and garage visits, but the Bis Mania Community also sells various kinds of Merchandise as a medium to display identity. One of the merchandise that will be made is a T-Shirt. Merchandise offered by brands or communities in the form of T-Shirts currently has value and appeal to the community itself. Merchandise itself is a souvenir that is often found in the community as a container or means in the form of promotion of a product or brand. Merchandise itself is made with various forms or items that are commonly used daily such as T-Shirts, Tumblers, Totebags, key chains, and others. Designing a Merchandise requires research and the right illustration design so that it can attract buyers to have the merchandise. In doing the design for the Bis Mania Community Anniversary Merchandise with the theme of a vacation to the beach featuring the Object Bus, Sura and Baya Characters, and Echo Beach as the destination chosen by the Bis Mania Community. Therefore, the use of merchandise can be a souvenir that is appropriate, memorable, and as a promotional medium as well as a souvenir.
