Abstract

This research aims to understand the development and impact of the Islamic education reform movement in the Banten region during the Dutch colonial period. It uses qualitative literature research methods to identify, analyze, and compare the roles of K.H. Mas Abdurrahman and K.H. Syam'un in this movement. The research describes the history of the Islamic education reform movement in Banten and focuses on the comparison of educational leadership between K.H. Mas Abdurrahman and K.H. Syam'un. Additionally, it provides deep insights into their roles in this movement and its impact on further understanding of Islamic education reform and leadership in the Islamic Education Reform Movement in Banten.

Abstract

The Islamic boarding schools are the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia but still exists in building and developing education in Indonesia to date. The uniqueness of the role of Islamic boarding schools is certainly inseparable from this professionalism and the intelligence of the Kiai in leading the pesantren education community. It is at this point that the main reason for this research is raised. The main focus in the discussion is the Kiai's situational leadership skills which focus on skills in diagnosing, skills flexibility his leadership style and partners for success. It is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques with observation and interviews. Data analysis technique with data condensation, data display and conclusion drawing/verifying. The results of this study include the Kyai's skills in diagnosing by giving a potential test to the pesantren community which aims to determine the ability and commitment of subordinates. Flexibility various leadership styles depend on the competence and commitment of the pesantren community.

Abstract

Total Quality Management (TQM) needs to be carried out in educational institutions as a form of efforts to improve the quality of education. This is important for carrying out management functions in every educational institution. This study discusses the implementation of total quality management (TQM) in educational institutions and efforts to improve the quality of education in achieving predetermined quality standards. Every educational institution should show better quality. This is intended so that educational institutions continue to gain the trust of the community and stakeholders. One way to keep getting this is to make continuous improvements, both from physical and non-physical aspects. So that it becomes a quality educational institution and its quality is guaranteed. The implementation of TQM in the world of education provides continuous improvement which refers to the quality standards of educational institutions as the basis for developing quality.
