Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul Hubungan Konsep Diri dengan Prestasi Akademik Taruna d.'“ Politeknik IImu Pelayaran Makassar. Studi Kasus pada Jurusan Ketatalaksanaan Angkutan Laut dan Kepelabuhanan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hubungan konsep diri dengan prestasi akademik taruna Jurusan Ketatalaksanaan Angkutan Laut dan Kepelabuhanan di PIP Makassar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan pendekatan korelasional dengan mempelajari sebagian dari populasi atau survey sampel. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah taruna PIP Makassar jurusan K/'-.LK berjumlah 65 orang dan menggunakan metode total •ampling. Analisis data menggunakan metode anal›’sis deskriptif dan analisis korelasi sederhana dengan uji statistic Fearson. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dikemukakan, maka kesimpulannya adalah (1) Mayoritas taruna PIP Makassar jurusan KALK memiliki konsep diri positif (n——63;9 7%) dan negatif (n ——2; 2,3%), gambaran diri DOsltif (n ——56; 86%) dan negatif (n ——9; 14%), ideal diri yang realistis (n——60; 92%) dan yang tidak reaiistis (n——5, 8%),‘ Manga diri yang t/ngg/ (n——58, 89%) dan harga diri rendah (n——7; 11%); kepuasan peran (n—— 53; 82%) dan ketidakpuasan peran (n——12, 18%, kejelasan identitas diri (n——55; 85%) dan ketidakjelasan identitas diri (n ——10; 15%),' (2) Konsep o/ dengan prestasi akademik menunjukkan hubungan yang bermakna dengan r —— 0,395 dan p —— 0,001.

Abstract

The background of the study concluded that previous cadets had difficulty getting optimal test results, so the researchers assumed this problem was related to the difficulty of cadet in absorbing subject matter provided by lecturers or instructors, where they had not used adjustments to teaching methods with the tendency of cadets' learning styles. The research aims to describe the learning styles of cadets of Politeknik Pelayaran Barombong class of 64 years of 2020-2022 training. This study is a qualitative study to describe the learning styles of class 64 cadets. Respondents were all cadets of class 64 who met the research criteria, totaling 153 cadets. The research instrument used the VARK version.8.0 test which has been translated into Indonesian and analyzed using a percentage form which describes the frequency characteristics of the cadets' learning styles. The learning styles of cadets studied in this study were visual learning styles, auditory learning styles, reading learning styles and kinetic learning styles. Through this research, it was found that the learning style of cadets class 64 which was the most dominant was the kinesthetic learning style with a percentage of 51.6% of the total research respondents

Abstract

This study aims to describe the kinesthetic learning styles of cadets of the Barombong Shipping Polytechnic class 64. This study is a qualitative study to describe the kinesthetic learning styles of cadets of class 64. The research respondents were all cadets of class 64 who met the research criteria, totaling 153 cadets. The research instrument uses the VARK version 8.0 test which has been translated into Indonesian and analyzed using the percentage form that describes the frequency characteristics of cadet learning styles. The tendency of the cadets' learning style studied in this study is the Kinetics learning style. Through this study, it was found that the kinesthetic learning style of the 64th generation of cadets was the most dominant with a percentage of 51.6% of all research respondents.

Abstract

This research delves into the motivations propelling cadets at Politeknik Pelayaran Sulawesi Utara as autonomous learners in the realm of English language acquisition. Employing a comprehensive questionnaire, the study explores the intricate factors influencing students' commitment and enthusiasm for independent language mastery. Results indicate a pronounced inclination among cadets to adopt autonomy both within and beyond the traditional classroom, emphasizing a proactive approach to English language learning. Motivations identified encompass the intrinsic joy derived from engaging with English instruction, coupled with the obligation inherent in the maritime context where English proficiency is imperative. Further, this present study delves into the interplay between academic success and motivation, revealing a compelling desire for high grades as a driving force. External factors, including praise and punishment, also contribute to shaping the motivational landscape. Additionally, the research uncovers supporting elements such as clear learning objectives, a passion for language acquisition, conducive learning environments, stimulating teaching materials, active participation opportunities, and collaborative interactions with study partners. This comprehensive exploration provides valuable insights into the nuanced motivations of cadets at Politeknik Pelayaran Sulawesi Utara, offering a foundation for informed educational strategies and interventions tailored to foster an environment conducive to autonomous language learning

Abstract

This study explores the uncharted territory of integrating drama into literature and language teaching, aiming to unveil its untapped potential for English language learning. Titled "Toward Literature and Language Teaching: Uncovering the Potential of Drama for English Learning," this research embarks on a systematic examination of the benefits derived from the symbiotic relationship between drama and language acquisition. The investigation delves into existing literature on the subject, acknowledging drama as a powerful pedagogical tool. Drawing inspiration from Budiarto's assertion that "Drama is a powerful teaching tool," the study positions itself within the broader discourse on innovative language teaching methodologies. The primary focus lies in unraveling the multifaceted advantages of incorporating drama in language instruction, emphasizing its relevance in literature-based language learning. The geographical emphasis of the study aligns with the prevalence of current research in Asian countries, primarily those where English is taught as a foreign language. Abstract

Prestasi belajar mahasiswa merupakan hasil akhir dari interaksi kompleks antara berbagai faktor internal dan eksternal yang memengaruhi proses pembelajaran mereka. Salah satu faktor internal yang menjadi fokus utama adalah kecerdasan emosional. Kecerdasan emosional memainkan peran krusial dalam kemampuan mahasiswa untuk mengelola emosi, mengatur diri, dan menjaga motivasi serta konsentrasi dalam belajar. Selain kecerdasan emosional, motivasi belajar juga menjadi faktor penting dalam menentukan seberapa jauh mahasiswa akan terlibat dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Motivasi belajar mencakup berbagai dorongan psikologis dan tujuan individu yang mempengaruhi tingkat komitmen mereka terhadap proses pembelajaran. Motivasi yang tinggi dapat mendorong mahasiswa untuk mencapai pencapaian akademik yang lebih tinggi. Di samping faktor internal, lingkungan belajar juga berperan signifikan dalam membentuk pengalaman akademik mahasiswa. Lingkungan belajar mencakup aspek fisik (seperti fasilitas dan ruang kelas) dan sosial (interaksi dengan dosen dan teman sebaya) yang dapat mempengaruhi kenyamanan, motivasi, dan kesuksesan akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian mengenai faktor-faktor ini menjadi penting karena memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang bagaimana setiap faktor berkontribusi terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Dengan memahami interaksi antara kecerdasan emosional, motivasi belajar, dan lingkungan belajar, dapat dikembangkan strategi pendidikan yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan pencapaian akademik mahasiswa di berbagai tingkatan pendidikan. Artikel ini mereview faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi Prestasi Belajar, yaitu Kecerdasan Emosional, Motivasi Belajar dan Lingkungan Belajar, suatu studi literatur manajemen pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara kecerdasan emosional, motivasi belajar dan lingkungan belajar terhadap prestasi belajar baik secara simultan, maupun secara parsial. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analisis dengan jenis penelitian survey, dan teknik analisis dengan Regresi Ganda dan korelasi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner, dengan populasi seluruh Mahasiswa SemesterGenap Tahun Akademik 2023/2024. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini guna membangun hipotesis pengaruh antar variabel untuk digunakan pada riset selanjutnya. Hasil artikel literature review ini adalah: 1) Kecerdasan Emosional berpengaruh terhadap Prestasi Belajar; 2) Motivasi Belajar berpengaruh terhadap Prestasi Belajar; dan 3) Lingkungan Belajar berpengaruh terhadap Prestasi Belajar.

Abstract

Dalam perkembangannya posisi TKBM di Pelabuhan menjadi sangat penting, ini dapat dilihat dengan semakin banyaknya kapal-kapal nasional yang mulai memadati pelabuhan-pelabuhan di Indonesia sehingga sangat membutuhkan para tenaga kerja bongkar muat yang memiliki keahlian serta kehandalan dalam menggunakan alat – alat pada saat bongkar muat. Oleh karena itu, kinerja TKBM memegang peranan penting dalam proses bongkar muat di Pelabuhan. Artikel ini mereview faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kinerja tenaga kerja bongkar muat, yaitu kompetensi, pelatihan dan usia, suatu studi literatur bidang kepelabuhanan. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini guna membangun hipotesis pengaruh antar variabel untuk digunakan pada riset selanjutnya. Hasil artikel literature review ini adalah: 1) kompetensi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja tenaga kerja bongkar muat; 2) pelatihan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja tenaga kerja bongkar muat; dan 3) usia berpengaruh terhadap kinerja tenaga kerja bongkar muat.

Abstract

Kemampuan berbahasa asing telah menjadi salah satu syarat mutlak dalam dunia kerja sektor maritim, dimana setiap perwira diatas kapal laut dapat menggunakan dan memahami informasi dan pesan yang dikirim atau diterima saat berada pada alur pelayaran internasional. Aspek komunikasi juga menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam penilaian kompetensi peserta didik pada setiap jenjang pendidikan. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi masih banyaknya taruna pelayaran memiliki kemampuan berbicara Bahasa Inggris yang masih rendah sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya minat perusahaan pelayaran khususnya perusahaan pelayaran luar negeri untuk merekrut taruna lulusan politeknik pelayaran untuk magang (praktek laut) dan bekerja di kapal-kapal laut milik mereka. Artikel ini mereview faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan berbicara bahasa inggris taruna pelayaran yaitu: penguasaan kosakata, kompetensi pengajar, dan motivasi belajar taruna suatu studi literatur pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini guna membangun hipotesis pengaruh antar variabel untuk digunakan pada riset selanjutnya. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah kajian pustaka berupa (library research) dan review artikel ilmiah baik dari buku, hasil penelitian terdahulu yang relevan dan jurnal ilmiah. Abstract

Shipping activities, especially for fishermen, have significant risks. In addition to the unexpected challenges of nature, one of the serious threats that is often overlooked is the risk of ship fires. Fires can occur due to a variety of factors, such as mechanical failures, fuel leaks, or other accidents. The purpose of this study is to find out the socialization of ship fire prevention for fishermen in East Sapa village. The research method used in the socialization of ship fire prevention is a qualitative method. This approach was chosen to deeply understand the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of fishermen related to fire prevention and safety at sea. The results of this study show that community service activities carried out by the North Sulawesi Shipping Polytechnic in collaboration with the East Sapa Village government have succeeded in achieving their goals in providing education and practical skills to the fishing community. The program, which combines interactive counseling and training, has successfully increased the fishermen's knowledge and awareness of various important aspects of their work, including boat maintenance, life safety at sea, and fire prevention.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of CRS strategies in improving reading comprehension skills of the students’ of Politeknik Pelayaran Sulawesi Utara. Using quantitative research through pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test, the data analysis statistically carried out using descriptive analysis and Paired Sample T-test. To find that there is a significant effect of using Collaborative Reading Strategy (CRS), the data will be calculated by using SPSS 25.0 application. The results show that CRS strategies have been proven to be effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills. The CRS strategy used is able to help students develop interest in reading and overcome boredom in the learning process. The implementation of Collaborative Reading Strategy (CRS) strategies has proven to be highly effective in improving the reading comprehension skills of the 2nd semester Nautical students at Politeknik Pelayaran Sulawesi Utara. The study revealed a significant increase in students' comprehension abilities, as evidenced by the substantial rise in mean scores from the pre-test to the post-test. The study confirms that CRS is a valuable tool for improving reading comprehension skills among Nautical students. The significant improvement in scores demonstrates that CRS strategies are well-suited to the needs of students in specialized fields, where understanding complex texts is essential.
