Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) can grow well in soil and environmental conditions that are under growing requirements and accompanied by good management also. The land is a natural resource with a permanent nature, while the human need for land continues to increase and the high need for nutrients in sugarcane causes a rapid decline in nutrients in the soil, especially monoculture sugarcane. This study aims to determine the effect of the response of sugarcane growth on the depth of juringan and the dosage of P fertilizer. The experiment was carried out at Wedomartani Experimental Garden, Ngemplak, Sleman, Yogyakarta from January to March (3 months). The experiment used a factorial randomized block design. The first factor is the depth of the rod with three treatments, namely: the depth of the rod 15 cm (K0), the depth of the rod 30 cm (K1), and the depth of the rod 45 cm (K2). The second factor was the dosage of P fertilizer with three treatments, namely: without P fertilizer (P0), P fertilizer 13 g / seed (P1), and P fertilizer 22 g / seed (P2). Six treatment combinations were repeated three times so that there were 27 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of two plants, so there were a total of 54 plants. The results showed that there was no interaction between the different depths of the net and the dosing of P fertilizer on all observed variables. Application of different P fertilizers had a single effect on plant height, number of tillers, and leaves. Application of P fertilizer (22 g / seed) resulted in higher plant height and number of tillers compared to without P fertilizer. Keywords: monoculture, phosphorus, sugarcane, production.

Abstract

Penggunaan media tanam merupakan salah satu penentu keberhasilan dalam pembibitan kelapa sawit. Media tanam berperan sebagai media tumbuh dan penyedia unsur hara dan air. Penggunaan top soil sebagai media tanam telah banyak dilakukan dan kemungkinan keberadaannya akan berkurang. Penggunaan abu sekam padi dan arang kayu dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif sebagai media tanam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji respons pertumbuhan dan biomassa bibit kelapa sawit terhadap pemberian abu sekam padi dan arang kayu sebagai media tanam di pre-nursery. Penelitian ini dari April sampai Juli 2022 di kebun percobaan Wedomartani, Kecamatan Ngemplak, Kabupaten Sleman. Percobaan mengimplementasikanmenggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial. Faktor pertama dan kedua berturut-turut adalah komposisi abu sekam padi dan arang kayu dengan masing-masing faktor terdiri dari empat taraf perlakuan, yaitu: 0, 10, 20, dan 30%. Terdapat 16 kombinasi perlakuan dengan pengulangan tiga kali. Pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan terhadap pemberian kombinasi perlakuan abu sekam padi dan arang kayu terlihat pada peubah tinggi bibit pada umur 10 dan 12 minggu setelah tanam (MST), bobot segar dan kering pucuk, dan bobot segar akar bibit kelapa sawit. Tinggi bibit, bobot segar dan kering tajuk, serta bobot segar akar bibit kelapa sawit tertinggi diperoleh pada saat aplikasi abu sekam padi (20%) tanpa penambahan arang kayu (0%). Bobot kering dan panjang akar bibit kelapa sawit tidak dipengaruhi oleh komposisi abu sekam padi dan arang kayu.

Abstract

One of the characteristics of urban areas is the increasingly limited land that can be used for plant cultivation. Only now, a lot of yard land has yet to be utilized optimally, especially for cultivating vegetables. Klitren Village, in the center of Yogyakarta City, has community-owned yard land that can be used even though the area is limited. This service activity aims to maximize the use of yard land for cultivating vegetable plants, herbal gardens, and food storage. This service activity was carried out in Klitren Village at the Asoka Farming Women's Group (FWG) in July 2022. The service activity was attended by 81 people who were a combination of women members of Asoka's FWG, the Village Head of Klitren Village, Village Agricultural Extension Officers, Lecturers, Students, Research and Community Service Units, and the Klitren Village community from various. The service is carried out through several activities, including making planting media for cultivating vegetable plants, arranging herbal gardens, and providing food barns. 100% of the evaluation results stated that the activity participants knew how to make planting media and food storage. In comparison, 66.7% said they knew how to organize and maintain an herbal garden. 66.7% of the participant's responses to the activities indicated that they were helpful and hoped they could be sustainable and improved.

Abstract

Kenalan Village is located in the Pakis, Magelang Regency. The village occupies 3.71% of the total area in Pakis District, with topography characterized by peaks and slopes. These topographic conditions have potential for agricultural activities, especially for horticultural crops (vegetables). The fertility of land used for crop cultivation can continuously decline if it is not balanced with soil fertility improvements. Harvesting fresh vegetables alone will not be sufficient for farmers' income; therefore, a digital marketing strategy is needed to increase added value. This service activity will be carried out from June to November 2024 in Kenalan Village, Pakis District, and Magelang Regency. The service is carried out through several activities, including socialization on increasing land fertility, analysis of vegetable farming, and marketing strategies for vegetable products. Technical guidance can improve the knowledge and technology obtained, especially in knowing the fertility level of the land owned and the marketing system for vegetable products so that farmers do not rely only on sales to collectors.
