Abstract

The business climate in the publishing sector has become quite a complex issue in Indonesia. But not only that, in publishing, licensing has its own dynamics. Media ownership must go through a licensing process which can be said to be easier than before. But in reality, there are still many Delivery Institutions that experience licensing problems, one of which is K2 FM Radio as a Local Public Delivery Institution (LPPL) in Indramayu Regency. In this research, the researcher wants to analyze what are the obstacles for K2 FM Radio, starting from its status which must comply with the law to the permit which has not been extended since 2022 and the researcher wants to know the government's role in the obstacles facing K2 FM Radio's licensing. This research uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews with 10 informants in the form of Focus Group Discussion (FGD), documentation studies and literature studies. The results of this research are that the obstacle to K2 FM Radio licensing is the dynamic change in position holders so that there is no official role that can focus on handling K2 FM Radio licensing issues. Apart from that, the government's role is minimal so that the budget support issued by K2 FM Radio as LPPL is not granted. K2 FM Radio needs someone who really loves radio so that the radio can develop.

Abstract

Background: The role of the community in introducing, communicating, or promoting Tarumajaya Tourism Village to the wider community outside is vital. Community Information Group (KIM) Cerdas Tarumajaya has a strategic role in connecting local communities with tourism and developing the tourism potential of Tarumajaya Village and the visibility of Tarumajaya as a leading tourist destination. Purpose: This study examined how KIM Cerdas Tarumajaya as public relations implemented strategies to enhance local potential and promote Tarumajaya as a leading tourist destination, and why these strategies were used. Methods: This study used a case study approach. Results: The communication and promotion of Tarumajaya tourism village cover the campaign for Tarumajaya as a whole tourist destination and a highlight for each attraction within the village, such as Situ Cisanti, Kilometre 0 Citarum, Paesan Hill, Pakawa Pine Forest, and Tawides. Every tourism site wants to be communicated and marketed simultaneously. Furthermore, the communication and promotion do not emphasise the differences between one tourist attraction and another. However, regardless of the achievement, the social media management of Tarumajaya Tourism Village is less consistent. Conclusion: Tarumajaya Tourism Village’s communication and promotion lack concentration and consistency. Implications: The success of communication and promotion depends on tourism differentiation, communication messages, and the consistency of information handling.

Abstract

Pangandaran is an area that is vulnerable to tsunami disasters. It is caused the sonic activity of the Indo-Australian plate’s in the southern coastal regio. Roda Jari Mas (RJM) Radio as a community radio has the role of informing the community about tsunami disaster information. This study aims to determine the role of media literacy for RJM Radio listeners in dealing with disasters in Pangandaran Regency. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study research method through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on 9 participants. The results stated that the most widely used media exposure of Pangandaran people is radio, which is RJM Radio, television, and social media. Sources of disaster information obtained by the Pangandaran community include television and social media (if a disaster occurs). There are three aspects influenced people's readiness to face disasters, namely media exposure, government attention, and infrastructure. Social media can be a source of disaster information. The community has participated in several disaster mitigation simulations, but has not been supported by adequate infrastructure. The conclusion of the study is that the Pengandaran community has low media exposure could have an impact on a lack of knowledge and low levels of government attention, which resulted in a lack of disaster preparedness training, not to mention low levels of infrastructure. All of these things had a big impact on one thing, namely low preparedness to face disasters.

Abstract

Jatigede Waste Management: Community Service through Talk Show on Trimekar Radio Abstract Sumedang Regency, particularly Wado District, faces serious waste management issues in the Jatigede Reservoir tourism area. Data from databoks.com (2023) shows that Indonesia’s waste composition is dominated by food waste (41.4%), followed by plastic waste (18.6%), along with other types such as paper, metal, and glass. In Wado District, the increasing number of tourists correlates with rising waste volumes, while waste management infrastructure remains inadequate. This situation affects environmental aesthetics and threatens the region’s tourism appeal. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach through a Community Service Program (PKM) conducted by the Fikom Unpad team. The program was carried out in the form of an interactive talk show on Trimekar Radio, aiming to raise public awareness about waste management. Data was collected through field observations, interviews with stakeholders, and engagement with radio listeners via a two-way communication platform. Thematic analysis was used to identify and categorize key patterns in community perceptions and participation regarding waste issues. The results indicate that government efforts in waste management in Wado District remain suboptimal, while public awareness of environmental cleanliness is still low. Feedback from radio listeners revealed that 80% of participants understood the importance of waste management after attending the talk show, and 70% felt more motivated to participate in environmental programs. In conclusion, radio-based talk shows are effective as educational and advocacy tools, particularly in areas with limited access to digital information. Sustainable waste management solutions require continued collaboration between the government, communities, and local media.
