Abstract

Long beans are one type of vegetable hortcultural plant that is popular throughout the world which is widely used as food or daily consumption, produced to be used as seeds and used as medicines in the world of health. This study aims to determine the effect of applying various fertilizers on the growth and production of string bean plants. This research was conducted in Lembang Village, Banggae Timur District, Majene Regency, Sulawesi Barat Province. The treatment in this study was designed with a simple Group Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 4 repetitions, namely P0 = No Fertilizer (control), P1 = Leachate 5 ml, P2 = MOL 5 ml, P3 = NPK Fertilizer 5 ml. Leachate and MOL as liquid organic fertilizers dissolved in water and applied per week after planting. NPK fertilizer as an inorganic fertilizer that is thawed with water and applied per week after planting. The results showed that the treatment of various fertilizers (P0, P1, P2, and P3) did not have a real effect on the growth and production of string bean tama, especially on the number of fruits. while the application of leachate water fertilizer dose of 5 ml (P1) gave higher results on the height and number of leaves of long bean plants compared to without fertilizer (P0) and the application of MOL 5 ml (P2) and NPK dose 5 ml (P3). The effect of applying NPK 5 ml (P3) fertilizer on the growth of long bean plants only appears in the variable number of leaves.

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Empowerment Program (PKM) activity is to apply microcontroller-based smart dryer embedded system technology that can help speed up the drying time of seaweed in the Karya Bersama cultivation group. In addition, it also provides new knowledge and skills in terms of post-harvest seaweed management by making processed flour products from cottonii chips. The method of activity implementation consists of observation, post-harvest seaweed management counseling activities, training in making smart dryers, and training in making Cottonii Chips. The results achieved in this PKM activity are (1) the existence of a seaweed smart dryer embedded system; (2) increased knowledge and skills of partners in conducting post-harvest seaweed management. Partners have been able to use the seaweed smart dryer embedded system well and partners have been able to make Cottonii Chips flour.

Abstract

Watering plants by farmers or urban residents who like gardening generally still uses traditional methods such as buckets or hoses directly. This method is less effective because it relies on human power, takes a lot of time, and produces uneven air distribution in each planting medium, so it is necessary to develop sprinklers that can solve this problem. This research aims to design a gravity drip irrigation device and conduct performance tests. The form of this research is engineering research, research data is obtained from the results of equipment testing and observations of the air distribution process and coefficient of variation analysis. The data analysis method used is quantitative with a descriptive statistical approach. As a result of the research, it was obtained that the coefficient of variation value for the emitter of output channel 1 had an overall average value per minute of 0.13%. output channel 2 every minute is 0.11% and the coefficient of variation in the water distribution reservoir has an overall average value every minute of 0.12%. The average percentage value of the uniformity level at each minute is in the medium category but close to the good category.

Abstract

The problem faced by the people of Semangki Village is that crop productivity is decreasing as a result of unnatural use of natural resources which is not supported by the expansion of reforestation, resulting in unproductive land conditions or critical land. The expansion of reforestation is not optimal due to lack of information and knowledge of the community in making efforts to minimize critical land. Through this activity, the public can obtain the widest possible information. The method used in carrying out this activity uses the lecture and question and answer method. The results of this activity showed the high enthusiasm of the community and increased knowledge after obtaining information on educational activities. The increase that occurred from the initial ability analysis data was obtained by 25% and the final ability was 85%.
