Abstract

Anak usia prasekolah merupakan salah satu kelompok rentan terjadinya masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Pada usia ini, masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang sering dijumpai yaitu karies gigi. Hal ini dikarenakan struktur lapisan gigi susu pada anak lebih tipis dibandingkan dengan gigi tetap. Selain itu, konsumsi makanan kariogenik berlebih dan tidak diimbangi dengan keterampilan menggosok gigi yang baik menjadi faktor pendukung terjadinya karies gigi lebih cepat. Untuk mengurangi resiko terjadinya karies gigi lebih parah, maka perlu adanya upaya peningkatan perilaku pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi melalui program pendidikan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Keberhasilan pendidikan kesehatan gigi dan mulut dapat dipengaruhi oleh media pembelajaran yang digunakan.  Media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk belajar. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kebersihan gigi siswa KB Nurul Qolbi dalam pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi. Metode pelaksanaan program melalui tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Sasaran kegiatan siswa, orang tua dan guru KB Nurul Qolbi Desa Tanjung Kecamatan Pakis Aji Kabupaten Jepara Jawa Tengah. Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan 23-27 Oktober 2023. Media yang digunakan yaitu Ki’s Wocus (wooden abacus) dan loker penyimpanan sikat gigi. Intrumen pengumpulan data: format pemeriksaan, format hygiene index, format wawancara orang tua dan guru. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan ini terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan siswa, orang tua dan guru dalam upaya pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi, selain itu program menggosok gigi setiap hari disekolah.

Abstract

Background: The government and health institutions are trying to improve access to dental services through field activities, but are hampered by facilities, especially dental chairs. Portable dental chairs are considered effective because they increase patient comfort, support ergonomic working positions for operators, and maintain examination quality. This study analyzes the effectiveness of their use through evaluation of examination quality aspects, with data obtained from surveys, observations, and questionnaires on dental and oral therapists in field services. Methods: This study used a mixed method (descriptive and analytical) with a Research and Development (R&D) design aimed at developing and testing product effectiveness. The study participants were 30 dental therapists from all community health centers in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan, with a data collection duration of one month. Results: The results of the effectiveness test of the use of the Portable Dental Chair model in dental health services in the field reviewed from the aspect of examination quality obtained a value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The portable dental chair model effectively supports the quality of examinations in dental health services in the field.

Abstract

Background: The problems encountered in identifying material needs in the Banjarmasin Dental Health Department laboratory are still carried out conventionally, namely by recording in books with the condition of students who increase every year so that the application of conventional systems is no longer effective to be implemented. This study aims to optimize the identification of website-based clinical material needs in the Banjarmasin JKG laboratory. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a model trial using the pre-experimental design one group prepost test method with purposive sampling. With a total sample of 50 people. The results based on the Willcoxon statistical test with a p-value of material needs identification before and after the application using the website of 0.000 <0.05 this shows that there is a difference in the effectiveness of identifying material needs before by 12.82 and after using the website by 15.44 there is an increase of 2.62. This means that the application of the website is more effective in identifying material needs compared to the previous system. The use of this new system presents data and information that can be utilized by users.
