Abstract

The current era of Society 5.0 and high accessibility has an impact on the dynamics of academic life in higher education, namely the increasingly diverse characters and backgrounds of students’ lives. Cultural competency for students in conditions like this becomes a necessity. This research aims to reveal the characteristics of students' cultural intelligence in East Priangan, including in terms of gender differences.  Apart from that, another aim of this research is also to formulate counseling services to facilitate the optimization of students’ cultural intelligence. Data collection uses the Cultural Intelligence Scale (CQS). The analysis technique uses a central symptom measure to describe the characteristics of students' cultural intelligence and Pearson correlation to measure the relationship between its aspects. Independent t test analysis was used to compare the characteristics of students' cultural intelligence based on gender. The result of the analysis are alpha 0,05; F=0,405; p =0,715.  The results of the research show that the cultural intelligence of East Priangan students is moderate and there is no significant difference between male and female students. Recommendations for a counseling framework to facilitate the cultural intelligence of students in East Priangan which can be formulated based on the original values of stusdent life in East Priangan as well as multicultural competence for counselors who will use this framework.

Abstract

Bullying remains a serious and widespread problem in schools, significantly affecting students' psychological, social, and emotional well-being. To address this issue, a community service program was implemented through the development and introduction of an educational game called Detective Bull at SMAN 2 Lembang, West Bandung Regency. This program aims to increase students' awareness of Bullying roles—such as perpetrators, victims, defenders, and bystanders—and to provide innovative guidance media for school counselors. This initiative was driven by the lack of reflective, engaging, and practical educational tools that naturally reveal students' social dynamics. The program adopted Kolb’s experiential learning model, which consists of four stages: socialization, concrete experience, reflective observation, and abstract conceptualization. A total of 100 students participated in the activity. Results showed students could correctly identify Bullying roles, and demonstrated improved empathy, social sensitivity, and communication. The game also created an active, collaborative, and supportive learning environment. Counselors considered Detective Bull effective as an informal assessment tool. Despite limitations such as time constraints and varying participation levels, this game proved to be a practical and replicable intervention model for school-based community programs. Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of deep learning-based training in strengthening multicultural competence and awareness of radicalism among Indonesian school counselors. Employing a quasi-experimental mixed-method design, the study involved 17 guidance and counseling teachers from secondary schools in Garut Regency, West Java. The three-week intervention integrated Socratic dialogue, experiential simulation, and structured cultural reflection. Quantitative data were collected using a pretest-posttest Radicalism Attitude Inventory, while qualitative data were obtained from reflective portfolios, interviews, focus group discussions, and observations. The paired-sample t-test revealed statistically significant improvement in counselors' radicalism awareness (p = 0.015, Cohen's d = 0.657), driven primarily by substantial gains in detecting overt radicalism indicators (Revolutionary dimension: p = 0.001, d = 1.03). Qualitative findings demonstrated transformative professional development, including increased cultural self-awareness, enhanced empathetic and dialogic counseling skills, greater sensitivity to subtle forms of intolerance, and improved readiness to implement preventive strategies in school contexts. Overall, the findings indicate that deep learning-based training facilitates professional transformation through iterative reflection and experiential learning, supporting its integration into counselor professional development programs focused on multicultural practice and radicalism prevention.
