Abstract

This research aims to improve the English language skills of class 2 students at MIS Fathul Jannah using flipchart media, carrying out interactive learning methods, and evaluating the impact of using flipcharts on student understanding. The results show that using flipcharts effectively improves students' understanding, although it requires time preparation and reliance on teacher explanations. The advantages are material visualization, interaction, and flexibility. Disadvantages include time-consuming preparation, reliance on explanations, and space limitations. In conclusion, using flipcharts can improve students' English skills, but requires careful preparation and training for teachers. Integration with digital learning tools is also needed to increase its effectiveness. Although recommended as an effective learning method for elementary schools, further research is needed to improve the quality of its use.

Abstract

This study investigated the success of a solid model teaching medium with the theme “My Farm” to enhance the English learning experience among second grade students at MIS Fathul Jannah. This medium addresses the challenge of unevenly distributed educational resources. Thirteen grade 2 students participated in this community service activity. The implementation of the activity involved three stages: preparation (survey, observation, media and material adjustment), implementation (introduction, core activities, ice breaking, and reflection), and evaluation. The results showed that the solid model media fostered active participation, created a fun learning environment, and had a positive impact on the classroom atmosphere. Future research should consider expanding the content coverage and deepening the analysis to obtain more robust data as well as innovative findings.

Abstract

This community service aims to strengthen online teaching skills and professional ethics among students of the English Education Department at IAIN Palangka Raya, particularly within the Microteaching practice (Praktik Mengajar I). Many students still lack a clear understanding of ethical standards in online learning and have limited experience teaching via digital platforms. In the context of 21st-century education, online teaching competencies are essential complements to conventional pedagogical skills. The practice employed mentoring and simulation methods. Mentoring was conducted through direct supervision during online teaching practices, while simulations were used to train students in responding to realistic virtual teaching scenarios. The activity was carried out in two stages: delivery of case-based materials on teaching ethics through interactive discussions, and 15-minute online teaching practices by each student, followed by feedback and reflection sessions. The results indicated active student participation in discussions and a developing ability to design and deliver online instruction in a communicative manner. This program contributes to equipping future English teachers with pedagogical readiness relevant to the challenges of distance education in the digital era
