Abstract

Indonesia has great potential in fisheries, including marine products such as squid, especially in Batu Bara Regency. However, the use of squid by coastal communities is still limited to simple processing, so the economic value of this product has yet to be optimal. This socialization program for making squid nuggets aims to increase people's creativity in processing squid into products with high selling value. The service method used is the Community-Based Research (CBR) approach. This program actively involves the community in the entire process, from planning to evaluation, to ensure the relevance and sustainability of the program using this approach, including technical training for making squid nuggets, recipe innovation sessions, and product marketing strategy. This training was carried out by practitioners and experts in food processing and marketing. The results of this service show a significant increase in the community's knowledge and skills in processing squid into squid nuggets. Apart from that, there has been increased creativity, which can be seen from the various product innovations produced. Independent business groups were also formed, which could produce and market squid nuggets with consistent quality. Increasing community income from the squid nugget business is an indicator of the success of this program. In conclusion, the socialization program for making squid nuggets has succeeded in increasing coastal communities' creativity and economic welfare. However, to achieve long-term sustainability, it is necessary to pay attention to environmental aspects and expand the program's scope to widen its impact.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the understanding of students of class XI Religious Sciences at MAS Plus Al Ulum Medan on algebraic limit material through the use of Photomath application. This activity was carried out in April 2025 with a total of 32 participants. The implementation method consisted of training on the use of Photomath application, group discussions, and independent exercises carried out for 2 days. Data were collected through questionnaires to find out how much the Photomath application can affect learning in the classroom and an early-late test to see the improvement of learning outcomes by using the Photomath application. Based on the results of the activity, it shows that the use of Photomath application can improve the understanding of the concept of limit algebra, help students follow the steps of solving systematically, and create a more pleasant learning atmosphere. Students' learning outcomes increased from an average student score of 58 to an average student score of 86. The questionnaire results obtained data that 85% of students felt more confident in working on limit problems and 78% of students stated that math learning became more fun.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linier Tiga Variabel (SPLTV) ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami dan menyelesaikan soal matematika berbentuk cerita yang memerlukan representasi simbol, visual, dan verbal secara terpadu. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas X-4 MAS Plus Al Ulum Medan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan wawancara mendalam. Data dianalisis berdasarkan kategori kemampuan dan jenis kesalahan yang muncul pada empat indikator komunikasi matematis, yakni: penggunaan notasi matematika, pembuatan gambar, penjelasan ide secara tulisan, serta penjelasan gambar dalam bentuk tulisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 31 siswa, sebanyak 27 siswa (87%) tergolong dalam kategori kemampuan rendah dan sangat rendah. Kesalahan dominan terjadi pada penggunaan notasi matematika (57%), pembuatan gambar (48%), penjelasan ide secara tulisan (40%), dan penjelasan gambar ke tulisan (38%). Faktor utama penyebab kesalahan antara lain rendahnya keterampilan membaca dan memahami konteks soal, kurangnya diskusi dalam pembelajaran, serta pembelajaran yang masih bersifat satu arah. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pembelajaran dua arah yang menekankan komunikasi matematis secara aktif untuk meminimalkan kesalahan dan meningkatkan kualitas pemahaman siswa.
