Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the form of the Randai Jalik performance in wedding ceremonies in Padang Sarai Koto Tangah Sub-district. This research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research instrument is the researcher themselves, assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools and a camera. Data was collected through literature studies, observation, interviews and documentation. The steps for analysing the data are data collection, data reduction, data processing and drawing conclusions. The results show that the form of the Randai Jalik performance in wedding ceremonies in Padang Sarai Koto Tangah Sub-district consists of Randai performers, galombang, songs, music, costumes, audience and the performance venue. Randai Jalik features 17 types of movements, namely: Tapuk Sarumpun Sarampak movement, Balabek movement, Mohon Ampun movement, Siku Tigo Duduak movement, Himbauan movement, Patik movement, Anta Japuik Tabao movement, Sipak Belaan Sambutan attack movement, Jago Jalik movement, Tamparan block movement, Sipak Lapeh movement, Tapuak Galembong inside-out movement, Manuai Padi movement, Mananam Padi movement, Siku Tigo Tagak movement, Sipak Kudo movement, and Sambah movement. Randai Jalik is performed by 4 men and 8 women with a duration of approximately 25 minutes. The accompanying music uses traditional instruments, namely, gandang tambua, talempong, pupuik batang padi, and tasa. The costume used is a black silek costume.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of the Bungkuh Dance at SMP Negeri 4 Batahan Satu Atap, Batu Sondat Village, Batahan District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. Data was obtained through literature studies, observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Bungkuh Dance experienced development in terms of quality and quantity. Quality development includes adding a variety of movements, variations in floor patterns, and updating costumes and makeup to better suit the needs of the performance. Meanwhile, quantity development is seen in the increase in the number of dancers and the expansion of the dance's function from wedding ceremony performances to educational performance dances in school environments. This development contributes to the preservation and sustainability of the Bungkuh Dance as a regional cultural heritage.

Abstract

Fenomena sumbang duo baleh merupakan sistem nilai yang dibangun dalam merespons sikap dan tingkah laku generasi penerus terutama perempuan dalam budaya adat Minangkabau. Tujuan dari penelitian ini dimana nanti tidak terjadi kesalahpahaman komunikasi interpersonal sumbang duo baleh dalam beberapa karya yang akan disajikan oleh para seniman dan dirangkumlah dalam karya musik “Tigo” ini. Fokus karya ini dari konteks Fenomena sumbang duo baleh sebagai prinsip dalam mengatur cara berprilaku menurut norma dan ketentuan yang berlaku bagi perempuan di Minangkabau dalam bentuk ekspresi simbolik maka pengalaman tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi dalam upaya mendapatkan data pada wilayah emik minangkabau. Sehingga Proses penciptaan karya musik tidak akan pernah lepas dari sebuah penelitian secara langsung karena kelahiran dari musik tidak hanya mengandalkan sebatas imajinasi saja namun keadaan masyarakat di Minangkabau, sehingga subjek harus tertuang juga dalam konstruksi imajinasi yang sangat dekat dengan fenomena masyarakat sendiri, maka dari itu penciptaan karya ini dinamakan dengan Karya Musik “Tigo”, yang terdiri dari tiga elemen utama, dan memiliki peran signifikan dalam menstrukturkan komunikasi dalam Sumbang Duo Baleh. Elemen-elemen ini, yang dapat meliputi struktur melodi, lirik, dan interaksi antar musisi (atau dua penyanyi/instrumen), berfungsi sebagai saluran untuk pesan-pesan yang lebih dalam, baik untuk diri sendiri (intrapersonal) maupun untuk hubungan sosial dalam masyarakat (interpersonal).

Abstract

This study aims to explain the social functions of the Galombang Dance within the dynamics of the Minangkabau community life in Padang City. The Galombang Dance serves not only as a form of entertainment or aesthetic expression but also as a sociocultural medium that reflects traditional values, communal solidarity, and respect for guests. This research employed a qualitative method, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively and analytically using an interpretive approach to understand the social and cultural meanings embedded in the performance of the Galombang Dance. The findings reveal that the Galombang Dance functions to strengthen community solidarity, reaffirm Minangkabau cultural identity, and adapt to ongoing social changes. Although its forms and modes of presentation have undergone transformation, the traditional values and social functions it embodies continue to be preserved by the supporting community. Thus, the Galombang Dance can be understood as a form of living local wisdom that remains adaptive to contemporary developments.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the choreography of the Fisherman's Dance at the Atok Rumbio Studio, Jinang Village, Pansur Village, Koto XI Tarusan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The Fisherman's Dance is a creative dance work that explores the livelihood activities of coastal communities in the area. This research is qualitative and uses descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research instrument was the researcher himself, with the assistance of supporting tools such as writing utensils and a camera. Data analysis techniques included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the Fisherman's Dance choreography comprises two aspects: process and form. Based on the process, the choreographer began the choreographic process for this dance, which includes theme/idea, improvisation, exploration, and composition. In terms of form, the choreographer creates various elements, including dancers, movements, floor design, group composition, props, makeup and costumes, and accompanying music. This dance is a creative movement. The Fisherman's Dance consists of 18 movements: the Opening Movement, the Front Pasambahan Movement, the Ambiak Step Movement, the First Step Movement, the Gelek Movement, the Pull Back Step Movement, the Three Step Movement, the Forward Step Movement, the Maayun Tuduang Movement, the Pisawek Gantuang Movement, the Hanged Step Movement, the Mereng Movement, the Ampun Movement, the Maagiah Umpan Movement, the Manjapuik Bait Right Movement, the Manjapuik Bait Left Movement, the Mandorong Umpan Movement, and the Ending Movement. The dance accompaniment used in the Fisherman's Dance includes the chanting, gandang, bansi, talempong, and string instruments. The costumes used are modified to allow the dancers to move easily. These include clothing made of satin, sarawa, songket, batik, and tassels, with talepon earrings and a cakik necklace. The prop used in the Fisherman's Dance is a hat.

Abstract

Kreativitas merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dikembangkan sejak dini untuk mendukung kemampuan berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, dan inovasi peserta didik. Pendidikan dasar memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk fondasi kreativitas anak karena masa kanak-kanak merupakan periode emas bagi perkembangan kognitif, emosional, dan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya pengembangan kreativitas peserta didik di sekolah dasar melalui metode pembelajaran, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan peran guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah literatur review, dengan pengumpulan data melalui jurnal ilmiah, buku, artikel, dan publikasi resmi dari lembaga pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan kreativitas dapat dilakukan melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran inovatif, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang beragam, serta dukungan guru dalam memberikan ruang bagi siswa untuk mengekspresikan ide dan gagasan. Dampak pengembangan kreativitas meliputi peningkatan rasa ingin tahu, kepercayaan diri, keberanian mengungkapkan pendapat, ketekunan, dan imajinasi tinggi pada peserta didik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan kreativitas memerlukan perencanaan yang matang, inovasi guru, serta dukungan sarana-prasarana yang memadai agar siswa mampu mengembangkan potensi secara optimal.
