Abstract

The puerperium begins when the placenta is born and ends when the uterine organs return to pre-pregnancy. Postpartum mothers will experience many physical and psychological changes. Postpartum gymnastics is one way to help the mother recover soon, it aims to expedite the process of uterine involution, is beneficial in terms of beauty, restores health, and improves muscle tension after pregnancy. Internal and external factors influence the implementation of postpartum exercise. The formulation of the problem is in the form of limited knowledge and skills about postpartum exercise in the working area of the Talagasari Health Center, Karawang Regency, due to the absence of socialization and guidance regarding postpartum exercise. The purpose of the service is to increase knowledge and skills about postpartum exercise for postpartum mothers using modules and video media so that it helps in carrying out postpartum exercises independently and as an additional program for pregnant women's classes. The service method in the socialization and guidance of postpartum gymnastics uses question-and-answer lectures, discussions, simulations, and practice of postpartum gymnastics, accompanied by pre-tests and post-tests. The activity was carried out for three months in the homes of 185 respondents. The results of this socialization activity and postpartum exercise guidance have implications in the form of increasing the knowledge of postpartum mothers up to 9.28. Activities have provided benefits in the form of increased knowledge and skills about postpartum exercise for all respondents. The conclusion is that postpartum exercise socialization and guidance activities have implications in the form of increasing knowledge and ability to carry out postpartum exercise movements independently using postpartum exercise modules and videos. Furthermore, the health center can continue the postpartum exercise activities in the postnatal care material in the class program for pregnant women.

Abstract

The mental health of postpartum mothers is an important issue that is often overlooked. Postpartum depression not only affects mothers but also negatively impacts the emotional and cognitive development of babies. In Tuban Regency, awareness and access to mental health services are still limited, with around 10-15% of mothers experiencing postpartum depression. This program aims to provide psychological support for postpartum mothers through several stages: participant identification and recruitment, education, individual counseling, psychosocial support, and health worker training. This program successfully reached 30 postpartum mothers in Tuban Regency. The Evaluation showed a significant increase in mothers' knowledge about postpartum depression and how to manage it. Individual counseling sessions helped mothers to be more open about their feelings and receive the necessary assistance. The psychosocial support groups created a supportive environment for the mothers. The training of local health workers produced workers who could recognize the symptoms of postpartum depression and provide early intervention. The conclusion shows that this psychological support program is effective in reducing the risk of postpartum depression and improving the mental well-being of postpartum mothers. For the sustainability of the program, recommendations include strengthening collaboration, developing comprehensive training modules, conducting regular monitoring and evaluation, and raising awareness about the importance of postpartum mental health. Similar programs are expected to be implemented in other areas to support the mental health of postpartum mothers more broadly.

Abstract

The puerperium or postpartum period is defined as the period that begins after the expulsion of the placenta after the birth of the baby and ends when the reproductive organs return to their pre-pregnancy state and lasts for 40 days. During the postpartum period, there are various kinds of care that mothers get, one of which is culture-based care which can affect the care process. The purpose of this Literature Review is to obtain a theoretical basis that can support solving the problem being studied. The preparation of this article was carried out using the Literature Review method by conducting a search based on the keywords "postpartum mother care culture" in national journals and "postpartum mother care culture" in international journals using a database taken from Science Direct, Pubmed and Google Scholar published in 2016-2021 with both qualitative and quantitative research designs. The search was carried out on international and national journal sites using the literature study method. Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is a significant public health issue, especially in rural areas like Mondokan, Tuban Regency, where access to quality healthcare and nutrition may be limited. This community service program aimed to improve hemoglobin levels in anemic pregnant women through the combination of iron tablets (Fe) and Ambon bananas, a locally available food rich in iron, potassium, and vitamin C. The program involved socialization, nutritional education, and the regular provision of iron supplements and Ambon bananas to pregnant women in the third trimester. Hemoglobin levels were measured before and after the intervention to assess the impact. Results showed a significant increase in hemoglobin levels, with 80% of participants showing improvements, averaging an increase of 1.5 g/dL. In addition, knowledge of anemia and nutrition improved markedly among participants, and the community’s engagement was high, with over 85% of women attending group support sessions. The use of Ambon bananas also contributed to local economic development, as it promoted the use of locally sourced agricultural products. This program demonstrates the potential for combining local resources and nutritional interventions to address anemia, with positive health outcomes for both pregnant women and the broader community. The findings suggest that this approach can be replicated in other regions facing similar challenges.

Abstract

Maternal health is a critical indicator of healthcare quality in a region. In Tuban Regency, Indonesia, integrated antenatal care (ANC) services remain underutilized due to limited access and insufficient awareness among pregnant women. This community engagement initiative aimed to address these gaps by implementing a comprehensive ANC program at the IIKNU Tuban campus. The program involved 30 pregnant women who participated in health check-ups, nutritional counseling, and early detection of complications such as pre-eclampsia and anemia. Educational sessions and personalized consultations emphasized the importance of routine ANC visits and healthy pregnancy practices. The results indicated significant improvements: 85% of participants reported increased awareness about ANC, 10% benefited from early detection of complications, and 90% appreciated the ease of access provided by the campus-based location. These outcomes highlight the effectiveness of integrating healthcare services within educational institutions to enhance maternal and fetal health, particularly in undeserved areas. This initiative offers a callable model for addressing maternal health challenges and underscores the value of localized health interventions.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of integrated Antenatal Care (ANC) services at IIKNU Tuban in improving maternal health and awareness among pregnant women. Integrated ANC, which combines routine medical care, nutritional education, and early detection of pregnancy complications, has been shown to significantly reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality globally. Despite improvements in healthcare delivery, challenges such as inadequate access to services and cultural barriers persist, especially in rural areas. Data collected from pregnant women at IIKNU Tuban indicated that the program has successfully increased maternal awareness regarding the importance of regular ANC visits, nutritional needs, and the identification of potential complications. Participants also reported better health outcomes, such as improved nutritional status and a reduction in anemia. However, challenges, including staffing shortages and the limited availability of advanced medical resources, continue to affect the program's overall impact. The study concludes that while integrated ANC services at IIKNU Tuban are effective in improving maternal health, addressing resource constraints and cultural barriers is crucial for further enhancing program effectiveness. These findings suggest that localized, integrated ANC programs could serve as a model for other regions aiming to improve maternal health outcomes in underserved populations.
