Abstract

Abstract: Plants are a storehouse that has a million benefits including medicine for various diseases. Communities must have an awareness that grows along with the development of knowledge about their natural environment. Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are basically plants planted in the yard, garden or plot of land that are used as a place for cultivating medicinal plants in order to meet the family's need for medicines. Knowledge about the use of home yards by cultivating various medicinal plants is expected to increase public knowledge about the usefulness and efficacy of several medicinal plants that can be developed in the residential environment and can also be used to increase family income, at least it can be used to maintain family health. To be able to realize these expectations, community service activities are carried out in the form of: 1. Lectures and discussions. 2. Demonstration of making a health drink made from white turmeric. With this activity, it is hoped that the goals to be achieved at the end of the program, namely: "the community can optimize the use of their yards by cultivating family medicinal plants and can process them into nutritious drinks / foods" can be realized. Keywords: Medicinal plants; Utilization of the yard; White turmeric.  Abstrak: Tumbuhan adalah gudang yang memiliki sejuta manfaat termasuk untuk obat berbagai penyakit. Masyarakat harus memiliki kesadaran yang tumbuh seiring dengan berkembangnya pengetahuan tentang lingkungan alam mereka. Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) pada dasarnya adalah tanaman yang ditanam dihalaman rumah, kebun atau sebidang tanah yang dimanfaatkan sebagai tempat budidaya tanaman yang berkhasiat obat dalam rangka memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga akan obat-obatan. Pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah dengan membudidayakan berbagai tanaman obat diharapkan dapat menambah pengetahuan masyarakat tentang kegunaan dan khasiat beberapa tanaman berkhasiat obat yang dapat dikembangkan pada lingkungan tempat tinggal dan juga dapat digunakan untuk menambah penghasilan keluarga, sekurang-kurangnya dapat digunakan untuk menjaga kesehatan keluarga. Untuk dapat mewujudkan harapan tersebut maka dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dalam bentukCeramah dan diskusi, Demonstrasi pembuatan minuman kesehatan berbahan dasar kunyit putih.  Dengan adanya kegiatan ini diharapkan tujuan yang ingin dicapai pada akhir program yaitu: “masyarakat dapat mengoptimalkan penggunaan lahan pekarangan dengan budidaya tanaman obat dan dapat mengolahnya menjadi minuman/makanan berkhasiat” dapat terwujud. Kata kunci : Kunyit putih; Pemanfaatan pekarangan; Tanaman obat.

Abstract

Lamegogo Farm merupakan salah satu kelompok tani yang bergerak dalam bidang ternak kambing/domba dan Usaha pertanian yang terletak di Jl. Amerta Dusun Ampera Desa Karang Rejo, Kecamatan Stabat, Kabupaten Langkat Sumatera Utara. Kandang yang dibangun diatas area lahan dengan luas 0,5 hektar yang digunakan secara terintegrasi antara perternakan kambing/domba dan sisa dari lahan tersebut dimamfaatkan untuk lahan pertanian. Kandang yang saat ini dibangun untuk kapasitas 150 ekor ternak kambing domba, dan saat ini baru diisi dengan 75 ekor ternak, kandang yang terisi masih 50% dari kapasitas kandang yang tersedia. Permasalahan yang dialami oleh mitra adalah belum adanya pemamfaatan sumber energi listrik sebagai penerangan, sistem pengelolaan peternakan masih secara manual dan untuk sistem pertanian masih menggunakan pupuk kimia. Solusi yang ditawarkan melalui kegiatan Program Kegiatan Kemandirian Masyarakat (KKM) terhadap permasalahan mitra adalah melalui metode pemamfaatan energi matahari sebagai energi ramah lingkungan dalam bentuk pembangkit listrik tenaga surya (PLTS) Atap, metode selanjutnya yang dijadikan solusi adalah dengan memberikan edukasi dalam bentuk pelatihan pengolahan pupuk orgganik padat dan pupuk organik cair yang diolah dari kotoran dan urin ternak kambing/domba. Hasil dari pelaksanaan program tersebut didapatkan bahwa saat ini dilingkungan kandang lamegogo farm sudah terpasang PLTS Atap yang terdiri dari 4 keping panel surya kapasitas 200 Watt Peak, untuk mensuplay kebutuhan energi listrik. Hasil lain yang sudah dicapai dalam pelaksanaan program juga sudah dilaksanakan pelatihan pengolahan pupuk organik. Dengan adanya program diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan peningkatan sosial ekonomi kelompok tani lamegogo farm.

Abstract

Improving the productivity of shallots through the continuous application of inorganic fertilizers can result in decreased land productivity; one way to overcome further impacts that will arise from such use is through the provision of organic matter. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of planting media and ecoenzyme treatment on shallot production. This study used a factorial randomized block design which consisted of 2 treatment factors, namely first factor was Planting Media (M) consisting of M0: 100% topsoil, M1: topsoil (75%) + chicken manure compost (25%), M2: topsoil (50%) + chicken manure compost (50% and M3: topsoil (25%) + chicken manure compost (75%). The second factor was Ecoenzyme (E) which consists of 0, 10, 20 and 30ml. Plant observations included wet tuber weight per plot (g), dry bulb weight per plot (g) and tuber diameter (mm). Data analysis method was analysis of variance and further test for real treatment using Duncan’s multiple Range Test. The results obtained that the provision of planting media in the form of 75% topsoil + 25% compost was able to respond to the production of shallots. Ecoenzyme and the interaction between ecoenzyme in the growing media gave an insignificant effect on the production of shallots as wet tuber weight per plot, dry bulb weight per plot and tuber diameter.

Abstract

Aquaponics consists of fish farming and plant maintenance. Water, which is a medium for fish cultivation, is used as a source of nutrition in plant maintenance, while plants function as a biofilter for water. This study used red onion seeds of the Sanren variety. This study was an experimental study using a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 1 treatment factor and 5 blocks. to get 20 research plots. Planting Media Factor with a symbol (M) which consists of 4 levels, namely: M1: Compost, M2: Chaff Charcoal, M3: Cocopeat, M4: Rice Husk. The results showed that the use of several growing media in the floating raft aquaponic system had a very significant effect on plant height (cm) and the number of leaves (strands).

Abstract

Red chili (Capsicum annum L) is a kind of horticulture that has been high economic and nutrient value, so it’s impotent to increase the yield. With the modern technology in agriculture, many farmers have been planting without using soil such as aquaponics, especially for vegetables. This study aims to determine the most suitable planting media for the growth and yield of 3 red chili varieties. This research was used a factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 3 replicates, which first factor was used 4 growing media (Cocopeat, husk charcoal, tankos and a combination of all) and the second factor was used 3 varieties of red chili (Kirana, pasemah and terano). Parameters measured; plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, number of fruits and weight of fruits. Tankos media and terano variety have a significant effect on plant height and leaf number, during the 4 weeks of observation. The number of branches and number of fruit, for both the treatments of the planting media and the varieties, were not significantly different, but the yield was significantly different as compared among them with terano was the better. It is clearly that, for high yield is terano variety, while the good medium is tankos. Of all the parameters observed, there was no interaction between media with varieties. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth and production of soybean plants (glycine max L) with the response to cow dung and banana peel POC fertilizers and their interactions. This research method used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 16 treatment combinations and 2 replications so that 32 research plots were needed. The first factor studied was the treatment of cow dung fertilizer with the symbol "S" consisting of S0 = 0 g/plant, S1 = 100 g/plant, S2 = 200 g/plant, and S3 = 300 g/plant. The second factor is giving POC banana peels with the symbol "K" consisting of K0 = 0 ml/liter of water/planting hole, K1= 200 ml/liter of water/planting hole, K2= 400 ml/liter of water/planting hole, and K3= 600ml/liter of water/planting hole. The parameters observed were plant height (cm), number of pods per sample (fruit), production per sample (g), production per plot (g) and weight per 100 seeds. The results showed that the application of cow dung fertilizer and banana peel POC had a significant effect on plant height (cm), but had no significant effect on the parameters of Number of Pods per Sample (fruit), production per sample (g), production per plot (g) and weight per 100 seeds. Keywords: Cow Manure, POC Banana Peel, Soybean

Abstract

Aquaponics is a plant cultivation technique that is integrated with the cultivation of aquatic animals such as fish. The aim of the study was to determine the potential use of various growing media on the growth and production of rice (Oryza sativa L.) in a verticulture aquaponics system. This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 5 replications so that there were 80 research sample units. The factor studied was the use of several types of planting media in the "M" aquaponic system consisting of M1 = 75% cow dung planting medium + 25% rice husk charcoal, M2 = 50% filter cake planting medium + 25% rice husk charcoal, M3 = 50% media planting sludge + 25% rice husk charcoal, M4 = 75% OPEFB planting medium + 25% rice husk charcoal. Parameters observed were plant height per treatment (cm), number of tillers per treatment (stem), number of panicles per treatment (stem), weight of wet grain per treatment (g), weight of dry grain per treatment (g), root length per treatment (cm). The results showed that the effect of using several types of planting media in the acuponic system had a very significant effect on the parameter number of panicles per treatment (stems) with the best treatment on M4 (75% OPEFB planting medium + 25% rice husk charcoal), had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height per treatment (cm), number of tillers per treatment (stem), wet grain weight per treatment (g), and dry grain weight per treatment (g) with the best treatment at M4 (75% OPEFB planting medium + 25% rice husk charcoal) and no significant effect on root length parameters per treatment (cm) with the best treatment on M4 (75% OPEFB planting medium + 25% rice husk charcoal).  Keywords: Aquaponics, Growing Media, Rice INTISARIAkuaponik adalah teknik budidaya tanaman yang terintegrasi dengan budidaya hewan air seperti ikan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui potensi pemakaian berbagai macam media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman padi (Oryza sativa L.) pada sistem akuaponik vertikultur. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial, dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan sehingga terdapat 80 unit sampel penelitian. Faktor yang diteliti adalah penggunaan beberapa jenis media tanam sistem akuaponik “M” terdiri dari M1 = 75% media tanam kotoran sapi + 25% arang sekam padi, M2 = 50% media tanam blotong + 25% arang sekam padi, M3 = 50% media tanam sludge + 25% arang sekam padi, M4 = 75% media tanam tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) + 25% arang sekam padi. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman per perlakuan(cm), jumlah anakan per perlakuan (batang), jumlah malai per perpelakuan (batang), berat gabah basah per perlakuan (g), berat gabah kering per perlakuan (g), panjang akar per perlakuan (cm). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh penggunaan beberapa jenis media tanam sistem akuponik berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter jumlah malai per perlakuan (batang) dengan perlakuan terbaik pada M4 (75% media tanam TKKS + 25% arang sekam padi), berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman per perlakuan (cm), jumlah anakan per perlakuan (batang), berat gabah basah per perlakuan (g), dan berat gabah kering per perlakuan (g) dengan perlakuan terbaik pada M4 (75% media tanam TKKS + 25% arang sekam padi) serta berpengaruh tidak nyata pada parameter panjang akar per perlakuan (cm) dengan perlakuan terbaik pada M4 (75% media tanam TKKS + 25% arang sekam padi). Kata Kunci: Akuaponik, Media Tanam, Padi
