Abstract

Rice bran and coffee waste as a medium and source of nutrients needed for the growth of the white oyster mushroom mycelium (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq.) Kumm.). This research has been carried out at Microbiology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Tadulako University. This study has almed : (1) To determine the growth of white oyster mushrooms (P. ostreatus (Jacq.) Kumm.) in the formulation of rice bran and coffee waste media. (2) Knowing the ratio in the media formulation of rice bran waste and coffee waste that can provide the best growth of white oyster mushroom (P.ostreatus (Jacq.) Kumm.). Data analysis research used in a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of seven treatments and three replications, namely P1 (100% rice bran), P2 (95% rice bran + 5% coffee waste powder), P3 (90% rice bran + 10% coffee waste powder), P4 (85% rice bran + 15% coffee waste powder), P5 (80% rice bran + 20% coffee waste powder), P6 (75% rice bran + 25% coffee waste powder), P7 (sawdust 70% + rice bran 20% + corn flour 10% (positive control). The results showed that the best mycelium of growth were P7 and P1. The highest number of colonies were at treatment P7 1,26x1012CFU/gr and the lowest was P1 0,26x1012CFU/gr. The fastest incubation time was found in P7, which was 25 days and the lowest was in treatment was P6, 48 days.

Abstract

Failure to control type II diabetes mellitus (DM) has a serious impact on the quality of life and health of DM patients. One of the factors that can influence the failure to control DM is predisposing factors. This study aims to determine predisposing factors including gender, education level, age, smoking, occupation, sports activities, long-suffering, knowledge, and behavior that influence failure to control type II DM. The research method used was descriptive analysis with cross-sectional data collection. This research used a purposive sampling technique and the patients used were 179 respondents. Data was collected using the Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ-24) questionnaire and the Self-Management Diabetes Mellitus (SMDM) questionnaire instrument. The data analysis used is bivariate and multivariate. The results of the bivariate analysis show that the variables that influence the failure to control Type II DM are the length of suffering (p = 0.000), behavior (p = 0.004), sports activities (p = 0.029), and work (p = 0.020). The results of the multivariate analysis of the dominant factors influencing failure to control type II DM are long-suffering with a value of OR = 6.956, behavior with a value of OR = 4.156, knowledge with a value of OR = 2.947, sports activities with a value of OR = 0.690, so it can be concluded that the variable long-suffering is The main factor in the failure to control type II DM because it can increase the risk of complications such as pancreatic cell damage and insulin resistance.

Abstract

he title of this research is The observation of the growth and formation of white oyster mushroom fruit body (Pleurotus ostreatus) on sawsdust and cocoa leaf waste media litter which has been carried out in the Microbiology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The aim of this research is to determine mycelium growth and formation. Fruting bodies of white oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) on a basic medium of sawdust substituted with leaf litter cocoa. This research was designed in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of seven treatments and three replications. The treatment media consisted of sawsdust and and cocoa leaf waste (CLW), namely P1 (sawsdust 500g without CLW), P2 (sawsdust 475g + CLW 25g), P3 (sawsdust 450g + CLW 50g), P4 (sawsdust 425g + CLW 75g), P5 (sawsdust 400g + CLW 100g), P6 (sawsdust 375g + CLW 125g), P7 (sawsdust 350g + CLW 150g) 45g rice bran + 5g lime + 500 ml water were added to each treatment. The best growth in observing the mycelium incubation period until it filled the baglog was in treatment (P2) with a time of 43 days, the best growth in the incubation period until pinheads appeared was in treatment (P1) with a time of 53 days, the best treatment for the number or fruit bodies is in treatment (P5) with a value of 8,67, the best treatment for fresh body weight fruit, namely treatment (P5) with a value of 60,67g. The best treatment for fruit body dry weight was treatment (P5) with a value of 11,33g. The media composition corresponds to the best treatment of the seven treatments, namely P5 (400g sawdust + 100g cocoa leaf litter). Because it has the fastest fruit body incubation. The highest number of fruit bodies and the heaviest fresh weight and dry weight.
