Abstract

This qualitative literature review explores the role of institutional, societal, and leadership forces in shaping organizational transparency. By analyzing existing literature, the study identifies how these forces interact to form five archetypal transparency regimes: vanguard, pioneering, hollow, deceptive, and paradoxical. Institutional forces, through regulations and governance norms, provide a framework for transparency. Societal forces, driven by stakeholder pressure, motivate organizations to meet public expectations. Leadership forces contribute by fostering a culture of openness. The study highlights the complex interplay of these forces and offers insights into strategies for enhancing transparency. Despite its contributions, the study acknowledges limitations related to interpretative bias and the generalizability of findings across different contexts. Future research is recommended to empirically test these insights and explore diverse industrial and geographical settings.

Abstract

Generation Z represents an age group most familiar with digital technology and actively engaged in the use of financial technology (fintech) services. Their daily financial activities are closely linked to digital payment platforms, which provide convenience and speed. However, ease of access does not always align with the ability to manage finances wisely, raising concerns about long-term financial health. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, lifestyle, and the use of fintech digital payment on the financial management behavior of Generation Z in Indonesia. A quantitative research design was employed, with data collected through a structured survey conducted between December 2024 and January 2025. The study involved 128 respondents aged 18–25 years, which exceeded the minimum sample size requirement based on Cochran’s formula, thereby ensuring representativeness. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach, assisted by SmartPLS software. The empirical findings reveal that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on financial management behavior, suggesting that higher knowledge enables Generation Z to make more informed financial decisions. Similarly, lifestyle exerts a positive and significant influence, indicating that conscious lifestyle choices play an important role in shaping financial habits. In contrast, the use of fintech digital payment does not significantly affect financial management behavior, reflecting that frequent usage of digital payments does not necessarily translate into better financial discipline. These results highlight the urgent need to strengthen financial education programs and promote responsible lifestyle patterns. The study contributes to the understanding of financial behavior among Generation Z and offers insights for educators, policymakers, and fintech providers in developing strategies that foster sustainable financial well-being.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review examines the labor market dynamics following accounting fraud, highlighting the significant impact of corporate misconduct on employee outcomes. Through a synthesis of existing studies, the review identifies key consequences for employees at fraudulent firms, including substantial wage losses, increased turnover rates, and overall job instability. The analysis reveals that, despite initial employment growth during fraud periods, employees ultimately face negative repercussions as firms unwind overexpansion once fraudulent activities are exposed. The review also emphasizes the disproportionate effects on lower-wage employees and those in thin labor markets, underscoring the need for targeted interventions. Additionally, the findings call for enhanced corporate governance and regulatory frameworks to protect employee interests and foster ethical business practices. This research not only contributes to the understanding of the repercussions of accounting fraud on labor market dynamics but also serves as a critical reminder of the interconnectedness of corporate behavior and employee welfare.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative review of game theory models in market transactions, focusing on the dynamics of matching between agents with diverse preferences. By examining various recent literatures, this research identifies two competition regimes in the market related to connectivity levels, namely "weak competition" and "strong competition." In weak competition, the outcomes tend to be more evenly distributed among agents, whereas in strong competition, there is significant unfairness between sides of the market. This study emphasizes the importance of effective matching system design to enhance agent welfare. The findings also indicate that understanding agent preferences and stakeholder participation in system design are crucial for creating fair and efficient markets. Although this research provides important insights into market interactions, several limitations should be noted, including the lack of representation of external factors and specific market contexts. Therefore, further research that combines quantitative and qualitative approaches is needed to gain a deeper understanding of market dynamics.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review examines the pay-for-performance sensitivity in managerial compensation within controversial industries, often referred to as "sin" companies, including sectors such as tobacco, alcohol, and gambling. The review synthesizes existing studies on executive compensation structures in these sectors, highlighting the unique challenges and ethical considerations they face due to societal scrutiny and regulatory pressures. Findings suggest that sin companies tend to offer higher compensation packages with stronger pay-for-performance sensitivity to attract and retain executives in high-risk environments. However, the alignment between executive incentives and long-term sustainability is often compromised by external social and ethical factors. Despite the growing interest in this area, limited empirical research specifically focusing on sin industries has resulted in a gap in understanding how these dynamics play out across different controversial sectors. The review calls for further research to explore these relationships in greater depth and across diverse global contexts.

Abstract

This qualitative literature review explores the speculative nature of derivatives in hedge funds, analyzing their dual role as instruments for both risk management and speculative trading. The review synthesizes findings from recent studies to highlight how hedge funds utilize derivatives not only to hedge against market fluctuations but also to engage in speculative strategies aimed at maximizing profits. This behavior raises concerns about the potential for increased market volatility and systemic risk, particularly in light of the behavioral biases influencing hedge fund managers’ decision-making processes. The analysis reveals a trend where overconfidence and herd behavior can lead to aggressive derivative trading practices, exacerbating market instability. Additionally, the review emphasizes the need for regulatory frameworks that balance innovation and risk management in the derivatives market. The findings underscore the complexities surrounding the use of derivatives in hedge funds and their implications for financial markets, calling for further research to understand these dynamics better. Ultimately, this review provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of knowledge on derivatives in hedge funds and identifies areas for future investigation.
