Abstract

Problem-solving is one of the most essential skills in 21st-century learning which prepares students to face the increasingly complex problems of human life. The phenomenon of global warming remains a big problem that the world is facing. For this reason, students are expected to be able to practice their problem-solving skills in analyzing global warming issues through learning physics. This research aims to determine the extent of students' problem-solving skills related to the global warming phenomenon. The research used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. This one-shot case study involved 22 phase E students of SMAS Katolik St. Gabriel Maumere. The data collection instrument included 8 question items containing four indicators of problem-solving abilities on global warming. Previously, students had to learn about the topic with the help of a problem-based electronic module. The results showed that the highest level of problem-solving skills was the indicator of implementing strategies with 87%, and the lowest percentage was in the evaluation category with 64%. The overall score of problem-solving skills was 72.25% in the high category, meaning that the application of the problem-based e-module provides positive results for students to transfer their knowledge in analyzing problems that occur in real life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the pattern of the relationship between students concept mastery and mathematical problem-solving ability in GLBB material. This is qualitative associative/constructive research. This investigation was conducted with grade X MIA2 students at SMAN 1 Nita. This study's instrument included a test of concept mastery and mathematical problem-solving ability, documentation of student answer sheets, and unstructured interviews. The technique for data analysis consisted of five stages: data collection, description of raw data, data reduction, data categorization, and construction of category relationships. The findings revealed a reciprocal relationship between concept mastery and mathematical problem-solving ability. In addressing physics problems, mastery of concepts and mathematical problem-solving ability play mutually reinforcing roles. The level of concept mastery of students increases with their problem-solving abilities, and vice versa: the higher the level of conceptual mastery, the greater the mathematical problem-solving abilities. The results showed that there was a semantic congruence between issue solving using the Polya step indicator and problem solving at the levels of analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). Abstract

Global warming as one of the physics materials, is a topic that tends to beabstract so it causes difficulties for students. In addition, limited time forlearning activities in class is an obstacle to achieving optimal understanding.Lack of learning time in class can limit students' exploration space. The use ofe-modules based on Problem-Based Learning is an innovative solution tovisualize the phenomenon of global warming through images, videos, animations, and simulations. Limited learning time in class can be overcomethrough the flexibility of using e-modules. The purpose of this study is todescribe the perception of high school students towards the use of ProblemBased Learning physics-based e-modules on global warming material. Emodules are designed to stimulate student learning by utilizing a problembased learning model, where real-life problems are integrated into learning. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach. The subjects of thisstudy were students of St. Gabriel Maumere Catholic High School. Theresearch instruments used are perception questionnaire sheets, documentation, and interviews. The results showed that the percentage of student perceptionon the e-module display indicator was 85.25%, the presentation of material inthe e-module was 82.68% and the overall benefits of the e-module were verygood. Based on the results of data analysis through questionnaires andinterviews, students gave a very good perception of the e-module on globalwarming material.

Abstract

The orientation of physics learning is to hone reasoning skills, solve mathematical problems from simple to complex problems. The aim of this research was to explain the differences in students' mastery of concepts and problem solving abilities through the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model assisted by mimind and direct instruction. The research method used was true experiment with a pretest posttest control group design. The total sample of 100 people was selected using cluster random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Manova test (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) with a significance level of 0.05. The research results show that the values of Pillai's Trace, Wilks' Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's largest Root all obtained a value of F = 3.394 with a significance of 0.038 < 0.05. Therefore, it is concluded that there are differences in concept mastery and problem solving abilities between students who use the CPS model assisted by Mimind application and students who use the direct instruction model. The results of this research contribute to the novelty of the CPS model using the mind mapping method through the mimind to the mastery of physics concepts and problem solving abilities.
