Abstract

This study aims to describe students' multi-representation ability in solving physics evaluation questions carried out by the qualitative description method in class X MIA 1 SMA Katolik St. Gabriel Maumere for the 2019/2020 school year. The data were obtained from the matter of physics evaluation on Newton's law material about the force of gravity. Data analysis is based on student work steps in solving evaluation questions. Data analysis results show that the ability of multi-representation in solving physics problems on Newton's law material about the force of gravity in the high category. The number of mathematical representations of 100%, image representation of 10%, then in the medium type only uses a mathematical description of 100% and in the low category using a mathematical representation of 100% and a verbal representation of 40%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the students' multi representation abilities in solving descriptive questions on straight motion material. This was qualitative research with an analytic descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were three physics teachers and twenty-five students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Maumere. The data used in this study were evaluation questions, physical evaluation scores, student worksheets on evaluation questions and interview results. The data collection techniques used in this study were as follows: Documentation and in-depth interviews. For qualitative research data to be accounted for as scientific research, In this study, using triangulation techniques, checking data to the same source with different techniques, namely the results of observations, students' answers, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis techniques used in this study were grounded theory. The steps of grounded theory were: creating categories for the information obtained (open coding), selecting one of the categories and placing it in a theoretical model (axial coding), and then compiling a story of the relationship between these categories (selective coding). The results showed that students tend to use the same representation, such as verbal 12.5%, mathematical 87.5%, while graphics and pictures were 0%. For each category, students: (a) in the low category received a mathematical representation score of 73.81% and verbal representation was 83.3%, (b) in the moderate category received a verbal representation score of 85% and mathematically 83.06% (c) in the high category obtained a verbal representation score of 83.3% and mathematics 90.47%.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the motivation and learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 2 Maumere through the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model with ecosystem materials. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) with two cycles of action consisting of action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of class X IPA I SMA Negeri 2 Maumere with a total of 36 students. Data collection methods include students' learning motivation in STAD type cooperative learning and test result data which is carried out at the end of each cycle. Data analysis was carried out in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results showed that students' learning motivation increased by giving a questionnaire in the first cycle with a total of 36 students who had attitudes or interests with a sufficient category of 10 people, good 8 people, very good 2 people and less 16 people, while in the second cycle there was an increase with the number of students who have attitudes or interests with categories, enough 5 people, less 2 people, good 25 people, very good 4 people. Learning outcomes showed an increase in the percentage of students who completed classical learning, increased from 69.44% in the first cycle, an increase of 100% in the second cycle. The increase in the value of students' learning motivation in each cycle shows that the STAD type cooperative learning model can increase the motivation and learning outcomes of students in class X IPA I SMA Negeri 2 Maumere.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the obstacles to the professionalism of certified educators faced by teachers when carrying out online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The methods used are interviews and qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this research are professional teachers who have been certified educators in several senior high schools in Sikka Regency. The results showed that the obstacles experienced by teachers during teaching in online learning were that many students could not participate in learning activities. This was due to the lack of facilities owned by students when learning online because not all students had smartphones as learning media using online. can follow because the internet network is not good.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of the principal in improving teacher performance at SDI CIII Wolomarang. The research used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations and documentation. The test of the validity of the data used in this study is a study using source triangulation. Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques start from the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study show that: the role used by the principal is the role of Educator, Manager, Administrator, Innovator, Motivator, Supervisor, and Leader. This role has an effect in improving teacher performance, although it is not optimal and still needs to be evaluated and the principal continues to improve teacher performance for the advancement of the quality of school education.

Abstract

Critical thinking ability is considered to be one type of skill that is very essential in the era of technological progress. These skills are the key to creating competitive human resources. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the extent of students' critical thinking skills regarding the global warming phenomenon which has become a global concern. This research used live worksheet-based E-LKPD and involved 15 Phase E students in the eastern area of Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Discovery learning is applied as a learning model. This research is descriptive with quantitative data and adopts a one shot case study model. The thinking ability indicators assessed include the ability to make simple explanations, further explanations, develop strategies, analyze and evaluate. The results of the research show that students' critical thinking skills are at a low level, with analyzing and evaluating occupying the second lowest position. These findings have important implications, especially in the context of physics learning. Therefore, more innovative learning planning is needed to develop students' analysis and evaluation skills by each teacher.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how professional teachers are in online learning during the covid-19 pandemic. The method used is a structured interview using a questionnaire in the form of a questionnaire and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis. The subjects of this study were teachers who worked in senior high schools in Maumere and were certified educators. The research sample consisted of 10 people. From this research, it shows that the learning process has been implemented well but there are also obstacles in the learning process in the network. Where many students are unable to participate in learning activities due to the lack of good facilities by students when learning online which is caused because not all students have smartphones as online learning media, in addition, students are also found who cannot participate in learning because they are in areas with poor internet networks good.

Abstract

Global warming as one of the physics materials, is a topic that tends to beabstract so it causes difficulties for students. In addition, limited time forlearning activities in class is an obstacle to achieving optimal understanding.Lack of learning time in class can limit students' exploration space. The use ofe-modules based on Problem-Based Learning is an innovative solution tovisualize the phenomenon of global warming through images, videos,animations, and simulations. Limited learning time in class can be overcomethrough the flexibility of using e-modules. The purpose of this study is todescribe the perception of high school students towards the use of ProblemBased Learning physics-based e-modules on global warming material. Emodules are designed to stimulate student learning by utilizing a problembased learning model, where real-life problems are integrated into learning.This research was conducted with a qualitative approach. The subjects of thisstudy were students of St. Gabriel Maumere Catholic High School. Theresearch instruments used are perception questionnaire sheets, documentation,and interviews. The results showed that the percentage of student perceptionon the e-module display indicator was 85.25%, the presentation of material inthe e-module was 82.68% and the overall benefits of the e-module were verygood. Based on the results of data analysis through questionnaires andinterviews, students gave a very good perception of the e-module on globalwarming material.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kimia merupakan upaya menerangkan konsep dan keterampilan kimia kepada siswa dengan berbagai pendekatan seperti kontekstual berdasarkan kearifan lokal daerah. Analisa permasalahannya pada SMA di kabupaten Sikka, antara lain: 1) tidak semua siswa mengenal kearifan lokal daerah Sikka, 2) strategi mengajar guru belum melibatkan kajian budaya daerah, 3) guru belum mengembangkan soal level HOTS, 4) siswa tidak terbiasa dengan gerakan literasi, 5) pemahaman konsep materi kimia asam basa siswa rendah. Tujuan penelitian adalah menguji validitas dan keterbacaan integrated assesment literasi kimia dan hots bermuatan etnosains daerah sikka pada materi asam basa. Penelitian ini mengacu pada model Thiagarajan yang terdiri atas 3 tahapan, yaitu define, design, dan develop. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar wawancara, lembar validasi angket, angket respon kelayakan untuk siswa dan guru serta butir soal uraian. Analisa validitas menggunakan rumus Aiken, analisa keterbacaan soal dengan rentang kategorial. Hasil penilaian menunjukkan bahwa 0,85 instrumen tes berada dalam kategori sangat valid sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai alat evaluasi. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji persentase keterbacaan 83,70% (kategori sangat baik) yang menunjukkan bahwa produk memuat materi yang dapat dipahami, disajikan secara menarik, ditulis dengan bahasa yang mudah dipahami, serta penyajian tabel dan gambar sudah sesuai.

Abstract

Karya tulis ilmiah merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam dunia pendidikan terlebih dalam penentuan kelulusan di tingkat sekolah menengah. Akan tetapi pemahaman siswa akan karya tulis ilimiah masih sangat rendah. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk dapat menjadi solusi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terkait karya tulis ilmiah dan pelatihan tentang cara menentukan permasalahan dari suatu topik dan menuliskannya dalam bentuk suatu karya ilmiah dengan menggunakan sistematika penulisan yang benar. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), yang melibatkan peserta secara aktif dalam mengumpulkan dan menganalisis informasi. Pelatihan diberikan melalui ceramah, diskusi, dan tanya jawab yang disampaikan oleh tim pengabdian dari Prodi Pendidikan Fisika Unipa pada bulan Maret - April 2024 dengan diikuti oleh 25 siswa. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berjalan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari antusisme dan peningkatan pemahaman tentang penulisan karya ilmiah yang lebih baik dari sebelumnya.
