Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas potensi antikoagulan dari ekstrak etanol daun kembang sepatu sungsang (Hibiscus schizopetalus (Mast) Hook.F) sebagai pengobatan herbal untuk penyakit kardiovaskular. Pengobatan herbal telah terbukti efektif dalam mengatasi penyakit sulit sembuh seperti kanker dan kelumpuhan, dengan keunggulan bahan dasar alami yang mengurangi efek samping. Fokus penelitian adalah pada kandungan senyawa bioaktif, seperti flavonoid, triterpenoid, tannin, steroid, dan glikosida, dalam daun kembang sepatu sungsang. Melalui metode cross-sectional dan pengujian terhadap ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 2%, 4%, dan 6%, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 6% memberikan efek antikoagulan yang optimal. Temuan ini memiliki kontribusi ilmiah penting dalam pengembangan pengobatan herbal sebagai alternatif untuk mencegah penyakit kardiovaskular, dengan menyimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kembang sepatu sungsang memiliki potensi antikoagulan dengan tingkat efektivitas yang meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan konsentrasi ekstrak.

Abstract

Hypertension is defined as a systolic blood pressure greater than 120 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure greater than 80 mmHg, measured twice within 5 minutes during rest. If left untreated, hypertension can lead to kidney and heart damage and increase the risk of stroke. This study aims to assess the community's knowledge regarding the use of antihypertensive medication, specifically the calcium channel blocker (amlodipine), in RT 006 RW 03 Kelurahan Johar Baru, Central Jakarta. The study involved 50 participants aged 17-64 years with a history of hypertension. A descriptive quantitative method was used, with data collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS. The results show that 83% of the participants had good knowledge about hypertension, 76% had good knowledge about the dosage of amlodipine, 76% had good knowledge about the correct administration of amlodipine, and 50% had sufficient knowledge about the side effects of the drug. The average knowledge level based on the indicators was 71%, which is categorized as adequate.

Abstract

Hyperthyroidism is a condition characterized by increased production and secretion of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland. This condition is indicated by a significant increase in triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) levels, which is generally caused by an autoimmune response that attacks the thyroid gland. This study aims to determine the pattern of use of hyperthyroid drugs based on medical record data and outpatient BPJS prescriptions at Hospital X during the period January to December 2023. This research is an observational study with a quantitative approach using descriptive methods, and data collection is done retrospectively. Results based on patient characteristics based on age, dominated by the age group with a range of 26-35 years as many as 56 people (29.47%) and gender dominated by women as many as 148 people (77.89%). Results based on the pattern of use of antithyroid drugs in hyperthyroid patients show that based on the type of drug, propylthiouracil (PTU) is more widely used in patients with hyperthyroidism as much as 124 uses (65.26%) and the class of drugs used in hyperthyroid patients with Thionamide group, obtained a percentage of 100%.

Abstract

Wuru Ketek (Myrica javanica Reinw. ex Bl.) plant is known to contain flavonoids and tannins that have the potential as antidiabetics. This study aims to evaluate the effect of ethanol extract of wuru ketek leaves (Myrica javanica Reinw. ex Bl.) on the relative weight of the liver, kidneys, and heart of alloxan-induced diabetic male mice. A total of 30 mice were divided into six groups: normal group, negative control, positive control (glibenclamide), and three treatment groups with doses of 100, 200, and 300 mg/kgBW for 12 days orally. The organs were weighed and analyzed statistically. The results showed no significant difference in relative organ weight (p>0.05) between the treatment group and the normal group. These findings indicate that the ethanol extract of wuru ketek leaves (Myrica javanica Reinw. Ex Bl.) does not show toxic effects on target organs in the short term. Further studies are needed to assess long-term safety and other biochemical parameters.
