Abstract

Introdiction: Red dragon fruit (Hylocereus lemairei (Hook.) Britton & Rose) It has abundant antioxidant content that is able to suppress oxidative stress from free radicals. One of them is vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid is an important molecule in plants and animals that functions as a cofactor of various enzymes. This compound is most abundant in fruits, but the level is affected by the level of ripeness of the fruit. Aims: This study also aims to determine the difference in vitamin C levels of red dragon fruit at different levels of ripeness, namely raw, half-ripe, and ripe.. Result: The analysis used includes qualitative and quantitative using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The qualitative analysis used three tests, treatment I used FeSO4 5% and NaOH 10%, treatment II with iodine 10%, treatment III used KMnO4 as an oxidizer. All qualitative tests on red dragon fruit from all maturity levels showed positive results with vitamin C content. while quantitative analysis of vitamin C levels showed different levels ranging from raw, half-ripe, and ripe with each value of 0.7112 mg/5g; 0.5380 mg/5g; and 0.3410 mg/5g. Conclusion: These results showed that there was a decrease in vitamin C levels with the increasing level of fruit ripeness

Abstract

Di Indonesia, buah matoa merupakan ciri khas dari daerah Papua. Secara umum buah tersebut mengandung vitamin C (asam askorbat) yang bermanfaat sebagai antioksidan untuk meningkatkan antibodi. Selain asam askorbat, buah matoa juga mengandung karbohidrat yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai cita rasa baru untuk es krim maupun pembuatan sirup. Pada penelitian ini sampel buah matoa diambil dari daerah Kota Kediri. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ialah untuk mengetahui adanya kandungan asam askorbat dan karbohidrat dari buah matoa yang berasal dari Kota Kediri. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kualitatif menggunakan metode FeCl3, KMnO4, AgNO3, dan metilen biru menunjukkan bahwa buah matoa dari Kota Kediri mengandung asam askorbat atau dikenal dengan vitamin C. Selanjutnya berdasarkan analisis kualitatif menggunakan metode Molisch, benedict, barfoed, seliwanof dan iodium menunjukkan bahwa buah matoa mengandung karbohidrat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa buah matoa yang berasal dari Kota Kediri mengandung asam askorbat dan karbohidrat sebagaimana buah matoa dari daerah asalnya.

Abstract

Angka kejadian kasus HIV/AIDS di Indonesia, terutama di kalangan remaja semakin meningkat. Remaja menjadi kelompok paling rentan terinfeksi HIV/AIDS karena remaja mulai mempraktikkan perilaku seksual berisiko yang memungkinkan terjadinya penularan HIV/AIDS. Remaja perlu dibekali pengetahuan terkait pencegahan HIV/AIDS yang berbasis sekolah agar dapat mengenali bahaya dari HIV/AIDS dan menghindari perilaku seksual beresiko sebagai upaya pencegahan HIV/AIDS. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan metode psikoedukasi di SMK “Y” di wilayah Wates Kediri dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang perilaku seksual beresiko untuk mencegah remaja terkena HIV/AIDS. Materi yang disampaikan mencakup memahami HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) dan AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), penyebaran, pengobatan dan penanganan, serta pencegahannya termasuk Perilaku Seksual Beresiko. Psikoedukasi dihadiri oleh 31 siswa perwakilan kelas 1-3 dari berbagai jurusan. Metode yang dilakukan adalah one group pretest-posttest design, dengan menggunakan uji normalitas gain (n-gain score).  Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan rata-rata n-gain score sebesar 0.51 (sedang) yang berarti bahwa ada peningkatan pengetahuan siswa terkait materi yang disampaikan. Diharapkan melalui pengabdian ini siswa dapat menghindari perilaku seksual beresiko untuk mencegah terjadinya penularan HIV/AIDS di kalangan remaja.Abstract. The rate of HIV/AIDS cases in Indonesia, especially among adolescents is increasing. Adolescents become the most vulnerable group infected with HIV/AIDS because adolescents begin to practice risky sexual behavior that allows the transmission of HIV/AIDS. Adolescents need to be equipped with knowledge related to school-based HIV/AIDS prevention in order to recognize the dangers of HIV/AIDS and avoid risky sexual behavior as an effort to prevent HIV/AIDS. This community service is carried out by psychoeducational methods at SMK “Y” in the Wates, Kediri with the aim of increasing knowledge about risky sexual behavior to prevent adolescents from getting HIV/AIDS. The material presented includes understanding HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), spread, treatment and handling, as well as prevention including risky sexual behavior. Psychoeducation was attended by 31 students representing grades 1-3 from various majors. The method is one group pretest-posttest design, using gain normality test (n-gain score).  The results of this activity showed an average N-gain value of 0.51 (medium) which means there is an increase in student knowledge related to the material presented. It is expected that through this service students can avoid risky sexual behavior to prevent the transmission of HIV / AIDS among adolescents

Abstract

Tanaman maja (Aegle marmelos (L.) Corrêa) merupakan sumber penting metabolit sekunder, terutama senyawa flavonoid yang termasuk dalam golongan fenolik alam terbesar dan terbukti memiliki sifat antioksidan. Fokus penelitian ini adalah melakukan analisis kadar flavonoid menyeluruh dalam ekstrak buah maja dengan menerapkan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Sampel buah maja yang diambil dari Kecamatan Mojo terlebih dahulu diolah menjadi simplisia menggunakan dehidrator pada suhu 50°C, selanjutnya dilakukan proses maserasi dengan pelarut etanol berkonsentrasi 70% dalam perbandingan 1:10 antara sampel dan pelarut. Analisis kualitatif menggunakan metode Wilstater (HCl pekat) dan Bate Smith-Mercalf (Mg serbuk + HCl pekat) memberikan hasil positif, dengan indikator visual berupa perubahan warna menjadi jingga dan merah tua. Pengukuran kuantitatif flavonoid menggunakan spektrofotometri visibel (430 nm) dengan standar kuersetin menghasilkan kurva kalibrasi y = 0,0078x - 0,0221 (r = 0,9978). Kadar flavonoid total ekstrak buah maja yang diperoleh adalah 86,979 mg kuersetin ekuivalen per gram ekstrak (8,698%).

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of residents in Wates Village, Kediri Regency, in processing traditional herbal beverages, specifically wedang uwuh, as an effort to empower local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Wedang uwuh is a traditional Javanese drink made from a mixture of spices such as ginger, cloves, cinnamon, secang wood, pandan leaves, and rock sugar, which not only carries cultural value but also contains bioactive compounds such as flavonoids and phenolics that act as antioxidants. The potential of Wates Village as a herbal center, supported by its jamu tradition and diverse MSMEs, provided the foundation for this training program. Methods included initial observation, coordination with village officials and student volunteers, counseling on the health benefits of herbal ingredients, demonstration of hygienic preparation techniques, and training in packaging and labeling products. Evaluation was conducted through pretests and posttests with 27 participants to measure improvements in knowledge and skills. Results showed an increase in average scores from 56.30 to 59.26, although not statistically significant, while qualitative observations indicated greater confidence and interest among participants in developing herbal beverage businesses independently. This training had a positive impact on community understanding, skills, and motivation, serving as an initial step toward establishing herbal-based MSMEs in Wates Village.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Herbal medicine is used for generations because of its safety and free from adverse side effects, but the healing process takes a long time. This is the background of herbal medicine manufacturers to improve their performance by adding dexamethasone compounds. This compound is a synthesis of corticosteroid hormones whose use must be under the supervision of a doctor because it has side effects of cardiovascular disease, Cushing's syndrome, osteoporosis, hypertension, gastrointestinal ulcers, infections, and cataracts. The presence of this compound can be detected using the Thin Layer Chromatography method by comparing the Rf value of the sample with the standard solution of dexamethasone. The eluents used are methanol, ethyl acetate, and toluene with a ratio of 1:45:55. This method was used to detect dexamethasone content in six samples of packaged herbs circulating in the Mojokerto region, East Java province. Of the six samples analyzed, five of them showed positive results, namely samples A, B, C, D and F with a difference in the Rf value of the sample and standard of each 0.01; 0.01; 0.00; 0.00; and 0.02. Sample E does not contain dexamethasone indicated by the difference in the sample's Rf value against the 0.5 standard.
