Abstract

The quality of academic services at a university is a very important factor in determining the comfort for students in taking courses in higher education, whether or not academic services will also determine the level of accreditation of the university. In some literature, it shows that higher education today has become a highly competitive market where students generally look for campuses that have quality education systems and services in supporting lectures at universities as a place of education. The extent of service innovation carried out by educational institutions in supporting the transformation that has been carried out will greatly affect the quality of students and the quality of education in Higher Education including Islamic Higher Education. This research was conducted using interview methods, surveys, statistical data analysis, and in-depth documentation studies at PTKIN, this writing can provide valuable insights into the relationship between improving the quality of academic services and the transformation of State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN) that has been carried out.

Abstract

Peningkatan mutu pendidikan menjadi tantangan utama bagi pendidikan, termasuk madrasah, untuk dapat mempertahankan kualitas pendidikan dan mendukung keberlanjutan lembaga. Teori POAC Terry (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) digunakan sebagai kerangka konseptual untuk mengevaluasi dan meningkatkan strategi yang telah diterapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi Madrasah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dengan menggunakan teori POAC Terry di MAN 4 Pandeglang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan analisis dokumen untuk mengumpulkan data. Informan utama adalah pengelola madrasah, guru, dan peserta didik. Data dianalisis melalui proses reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang diterapkan oleh MAN 4 Pandeglang dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan mencakup planning (perencanaan) yang matang, organizing (pengorganisiran) yang efektif,  actuating (pengaktualisasian) yang konsosten,  serta controlling (pengawasan) yang konsisten yang terus-menerus. Ditemukan bahwa perencanaan yang matang, pemilihan pengorganisasian yang efektif, pelaksanaan yang konsisten serta pengawasan yang terus menerus menjadi faktor kunci dalam keberhasilan strategi ini. Kesimpulannya bahwa strategi madrasah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di MAN 4 Pandeglang telah diterapkan dengan baik. Langkah-langkah yang terorganisir dengan baik, serta penggunaan teori POAC, memberikan landasan kuat untuk mencapai tujuan mutu pendidikan yang diinginkan.

Abstract

This research focuses on the management of Islamic boarding schools as traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. Islamic boarding schools, which have a long history dating back to the 13th century, play an important role in education and developing national character. This study identifies the unique characteristics of Islamic boarding schools, such as the central role of the kyai, the independence of the students, and the integration between religious education and social life. Against the background of the challenges of modernization and globalization, this research emphasizes the importance of innovation and management transformation in Islamic boarding schools to maintain their relevance and improve the quality of education. This research describes various aspects of Islamic boarding school management, including planning, organizing and leadership. In planning, Islamic boarding schools face the challenge of setting long-term goals that are realistic and measurable, while in organizing, the role of Kyai and Islamic boarding school administrators is key in carrying out managerial functions. Leadership in Islamic boarding schools, especially the role of kyai, is very crucial in influencing and directing students and the Islamic boarding school community. The research results show that the effectiveness of Islamic boarding school management is very dependent on the ability of the kyai and administrators to adapt to changing times without losing the original identity of the Islamic boarding school. This research suggests the need to develop more systematic and data-based management practices to support sustainability and improve the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools. Apart from that, strengthening collaboration between Islamic boarding schools and various stakeholders has also been identified as an important factor in supporting the transformation of Islamic boarding school management in the modern era.
