Abstract

This article concerns on the translation techniques based on the emphasis of language, source and target. This article is conducted with qualitative reserch design by using library study and review of literature. This article shows that the emphasis in translation, whether source langauge or target language has suitable technique in transfering the idea of source text. This article shows that source language emphasis closely relates to word level equivalence that might be assisted by machine translation or fully exploring human capital of thinking. Meanwhile, the target language emphasis closely relates to sense of language notions which focus on readable and acceptable aspect of translation product.

Abstract

This paper reported on the findings of Total Physical Response (TPR) method on the students’ learning motivation. This study belongs to an experimental research. The subjects of this study were the students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung at the first semester in academic year 2022/2023. The writer uses questionnaire to know the students’ responses toward using the TPR method in the classroom. Then the researcher masured the students’ motivation by questionnaire test and analyzed the data by using T-test formula. The findings showed that there was a significant influence on using the Total Physical Response method toward the students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of Canva as a learning tool to enhance the English speaking skills of midwifery students, focusing on the students’ perspectives regarding the implementation of this application in the classroom. Speaking is a vital skill for academic and professional communication, yet many students struggle due to low confidence and limited practice opportunities. The research aims to evaluate students' opinions on using Canva to improve their speaking abilities. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through a questionnaire, and analyzed using descriptive statistics to summarize the students' responses. The findings reveal that Canva’s interactive features significantly increased students' speaking confidence and engagement in EFL classrooms. Additionally, the study suggests that Canva’s flexibility allows students to practice speaking anytime and anywhere, making it an effective tool for enhancing speaking proficiency. The integration of Canva into English language teaching holds potential for improving language skills while fostering creativity and self-expression. Based on the results, it is recommended that Canva be incorporated into language learning curricula to maximize students’ speaking potential and motivation.

Abstract

In this digital era, almost every aspect of human life relies on technology, including education, business, government, and daily life. One example of technology widely used in various fields is QR-code technology. Unfortunately, this comfort cannot be felt in other regions of Indonesia. The lack of information impacts the slow learning development in areas commonly referred to as 3T regions, (Tertinggal, Terdepan, Terluar). Therefore, it is necessary to address this condition. Children in the 3T region have the right to equality in learning and accessing knowledge. Thus, the author takes the initiative to develop learning media that trains the fine motor skills of elementary school students in Gairipim, Papua, by their age. The method used in this community service activity is a qualitative descriptive method. The provision of engaging and interactive learning media is expected to spark curiosity and a desire to continue learning. This activity considers the limited internet access in remote areas, so the applications installed on the devices do not require internet connectivity. Therefore, users can achieve their goals even with minimal internet access. In this way, students at SD Negeri Gairipim can gain equal access to learning and enjoy modern learning media.

Abstract

Pada saat ini perkembangan teknologi yang sangat memberikan peluang kepada setiap perusahaan dalam memiliki daya saing bisnis. Perusahaan dituntut untuk memiliki sistem informasi yang bisa mendukung dan meningkatkan produktivitas perusahaan. Corporate Web merupakan salah satu sistem informasi yang digunakan oleh perusahaan untuk mengenalkan perusahaan kepada calon customer dan masyarakat luas. Perancangan Corporate Web dalam bentuk website saat ini berkembang dengan berbagai tahapan atau metode yang dilakukan. Model Waterfall dalam penelitian ini akan diterapkan di PT X yang merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang pelayanan transaksi dan distribusi barang dengan proses penjualan B2B (Bussiness to Bussiness). Pada perancangan corporate web ini digunakan pengumpulan data secara kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan informasi melalui proses wawancara, observasi dan studi literatur. Pada model Waterfall dilakukan pengerjaan secara sistematis dan berurutan dalam pengembangan perangkat lunak. Model ini disebutkan juga sebagai model air terjun karena pada setiap tahapnya dikerjakan dari atas kebawah yang memiliki kelebihan sistem kerja yang jelas. Tahap yang dilakukan dalam model waterfall adalah Identifikasi Sistem, Analisis Sistem, Pengembangan Sistem, Implementasi, Desain, Pengkodean, dan Uji Coba. Tahapan pengujian merupakan bagian dari tahapan model Waterfall. Metode pengujian yang dipakai adalah metode Black Box, yang merupakan metode dengan fokus melakukan pengamatan hasil input dan output dari perangkat lunak yang akan diuji. Corporate Web yang telah dibuat diharapkan mampu mempermudah PT X dalam menyampaikan informasi mengenai gambaran secara singkat mengenai perusahaan, core value, dan kegiatan yang telah dilakukan untuk pengembangan perusahaan.

Abstract

Kulit yang berfungsi secara estetika dan melindungi organ internal secara rutin terpapar elemen eksternal, membuatnya rentan terhadap luka dan penyakit. Salah satu kondisi yang paling berbahaya adalah kanker kulit, masalah kesehatan global yang berasal dari mutasi DNA pada sel kulit, terutama Melanoma dan Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC). Penyakit tersebut umum terjadi di area yang terpapar sinar matahari berlebihan. Di Indonesia yang memiliki lokasi geografis di daerah tropis memiliki resiko terjangkit kanker kulit yang lebih besar. Hal tersebut mendorong kebutuhan akan metode diagnostik yang efektif. Prosedur biopsi tradisional, meskipun akurat, memakan waktu dan mahal. Studi ini mengeksplorasi pendekatan alternatif yang efisien dengan menggunakan computer vision dan machine learning, khususnya Inception V3. Metode Inception V3 adalah salah satu arsitektur jaringan saraf konvolusi (CNN) yang dikembangkan oleh tim peneliti di Google pada tahun 2015. Tujuan utama dari Inception V3 adalah untuk meningkatkan kecepatan komputasi dan kinerja model dalam pengenalan gambar. Penelitian akan dilakukan dengan cara melakukan pelatihan pada model dengan metode Inception V3. Model akan dilatih menggunakan data foto kulit sebesar 9,1GB (Gigabyte) yang diambil dari International Skin Imaging Challenge (ISIC) pada tahun 2019. Setelah pelatihan selesai dilakukan, tahap selanjutnya adalah pengujian. Untuk mencegah bias maka data yang dipakai untuk pengujian model tidak boleh sama dengan pelatihannya. Model yang dilatih menunjukkan akurasi yang memuaskan, mencapai 99.93% untuk Melanoma dan 92.26% untuk identifikasi Basal Cell Carcinoma.

Abstract

Optimal budget absorption in a region requires streamlined solutions. One such solution is simplifying the budget submission process through technology-based approaches. This study utilizes the SDLC methodology to create a durable application for Public Housing, Settlement Areas, and Human Settlement Offices, meeting their requirement for an effective budget submission tool. The SDLC method allows for continuous evaluation and development according to agency requirements. The outcome is APPA, a Budget Absorption Notification Application designed for the Public Housing, Settlement Areas, and Human Settlements Office in Jember. This application has helped to ensure that the budget approval process is not a sync point in achieving project deadlines. One of the aims of this research was to develop a technology-driven solution that could be implemented to increase optimal regional absorption which is expected can facilitate and accelerate budget execution and public service delivery more prettily than ever.

Abstract

Autism is a type of mental health disorder that is 80% caused by heredity, and environmental influences cause the rest. People with autism tend to be unable to concentrate and look at the other person when interacting. Since the age of toddlers, people with autism have a shallow response to the surrounding environment. In addition, people with autism also find it very difficult to recognize someone's expression, even though facial expressions or facial expressions are one way that can be used to recognize someone's emotions. In addition, facial expressions indirectly reveal the contents of a person's thoughts. To overcome this, the author wants to build a face expression recognition model to help people with autism recognize someone's facial expressions. The primary purpose of this research is to help people with autism socialize and recognize the facial expressions of the people around them. This face expression recognition model was built by applying Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) intelligence and using the Tensorflow library and the Keras API. The dataset used in this study is a collection of faces from all over the world. In this research and model development process, the output display of the detection of facial expressions is in the form of diagrams and descriptions of the expressions that a person is experiencing.

Abstract

Technological advances in the modern era are now becoming a trend in the lives of every individual and in various fields. One of them is QR (Quick Response) Code technology in the Android-based Heroes application. This research explains the community service program, especially for partners at Yohanes Gabriel Catholic Elementary School located in Sidodadi, Garum District, Blitar Regency. Our service is by creating an application that contains sketches of the faces of Indonesian Heroes and their struggles both before and after independence, wrapped in short videos. The method used is face-to-face where we provide guidance to teachers in using the application we created and provide outreach to elementary school students regarding the application created. With this application which utilizes the latest technology, it has had a positive impact, especially for our partners at Yohanes Gabriel Catholic Elementary School, where the elementary school teachers can use the application we created in their teaching and learning activities..            Keywords: QR code; community service; android
