Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan elevator sosial yang paling jitu untuk meninggkatkan kualitas kehidupan. Selama masa pandemic pendidikan di tiap tingkat mengalami distreksi, sehingga dibutuhkan counter atas keadaan tersebut untuk mengtasinya. Komunitas belajar menjadi salah satu wadah untuk membantu anak-anak belajar dengan lebih nyaman salama kekosongan proses kegiatan beajar mengajar di pendidikan formal. Minat peserta didik yang tinggi dan terbatasnya sukarelawan menjadikan selisih ketercapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Terkait hal ini Porgram Studi Sastra Inggris hadir untuk menjembatani celah tersebut sesuai dengan amahan visi misi program studi. Kegiatan ini pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan metode partisipatif dengan memerhaatikan beberapa tahapan yaitu koordinasi dengan pengurus, survey lapangan, dan pelaksanaan program. Hasil dan implementasi ialah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan peserta didik dan sukarelawan terhadap materi bahasa Inggris. Abstract

Pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) merupakan gerbang awal generasi muda bangsa Indonesia mendapatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kreatif. Dalam perkembangannya PAUD bernilai esensial dalam proses belajar anak. Proses pendidikan yang asyik dan kreatif membuat daya nalar anak terangsang dengan baik. Selain itu keterampilan kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik juga diupayakan untuk berkembang dengan pesat. Pembelajaran di PAUD menyentuh konsep-konsep dasar keterampilan tersebut, khususnya yang terkait dengan inteligensia kebahasaan. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk memberikan perhatian khusus pada materi yang diajarkan dan metode penyampaiannya yang dalam hal ini ialah bahasa asing. Sesuai dengan amanah peta jalan pengabdian kepada masyarakat Prodi Sastra Inggris, Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung memberikan pelatihan kepada guru-guru PAUD Nasyiatul Aisyiha untuk meningkatkan kapabilitas dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris bagi anak PAUD. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode partisipatif dalam beberapa tahapan yaitu koordinasi dengan pengurus PAUD, survey lapangan, dan pelaksanaan program. Hasil dan implementasi ialah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan pendidik dalam menyusun bahan ajar dan menerapkan metode pengajaran yang efektif bagi peserta didik. Abstract

This research evaluates the use of the Naïve Bayes algorithm in classifying Physics questions with single labels. The main objective is to identify the best algorithm for classifying Physics questions to assist high school students with difficulty understanding them. The research method involves using a dataset containing Physics questions that need to be classified to facilitate learning for high school students. The Naïve Bayes algorithm is implemented using Google Colab to train the classification model using features extracted from the text of the Physics questions. Additionally, several other classification algorithms, such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, and Random Forest, are tested, and their performance is compared. Experimental results show that Naïve Bayes provides competitive results in classifying single-label Physics questions. However, there are significant performance differences between Naïve Bayes and other algorithms, depending on the type and complexity of the classified Physics problems. In this study, SVM achieved higher accuracy, but Naïve Bayes excelled in training time. This research provides a deeper understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of Naïve Bayes in solving the task of classifying single-label Physics problems. These findings guide the development of more accurate classification models for application in the context of Physics learning.

Abstract

Indonesian memorable coffee application is an application that helps consumers to order a drink without having to queue or leave the house. Human and computer interaction is a multi-disciplinary field that focuses on computer technology design, especially on the interaction between humans as users and computers/applications. Through this interaction, developers are required to pay attention to several things such as functionality, user experience, and interface design so that users are comfortable using the application. The analysis was conducted to see how far the guidelines on the principles of human and computer interaction were applied in the Indonesian coffee memories application. There are several aspects evaluated such as human aspects, technological aspects, ergonomic aspects and usability aspects. The results show that the application has fulfilled the aspects of human and computer interaction.

Abstract

Keterampilan berbicara merupakan keterampilan dasar dalam mempelajari sebuah bahasa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan berbahasa Inggris anak-anak Migran Indonesia yang telah menetap lama di Malaysia. Di sini, penulis menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif naturalistik, hal ini merupakan pertimbangan bahwa penulis fokus pada mengamati, mendeskripsikan, menafsirkan dan memahami apa yang biasanya dilakukan siswa dan guru di kelas berbicara. Metode pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan sekitar 50% sampel mempunyai kemampuan berbicara yang cukup baik dengan tata bahasa yang benar, santai, dapat memberikan manfaat bagi pendengarnya. Sekitar 20% sampel mempunyai kemampuan sedang, dan 30% sisanya kemampuan berbicaranya masih buruk. Mereka membutuhkan banyak perbaikan dalam tata bahasa.

Abstract

Membaca merupakan keterampilan sadar bahasa Inggris yang perlu dikuasai di era digital. Keterampilan ini menjadi salah satu faktor penentu masuknya informasi dari dunia luar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini dalah untuk meningkatan keterampilan membaca dengan menggunakan sebuah metode pembelajaran yang disebut dengan P2R. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan mengunakan pendekatan eksperimental dalam menyajikan data yang didapat dilapangan. Metode analis data didapat dari proses pre tes, treatment dan tahapan yang terakhir yaitu post tes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan terhadap keterampilan membaca responden setelah diberikan treatment. Metode ini dinilai cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman membaca responden

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Tuberculosis and Pneumonia are two of the 10 biggest causes of death in the world. To reduce the risk of contracting both diseases, early and accurate diagnosis is needed. One way to achieve early and accurate diagnosis is to integrate image processing into the diagnosis process. The aim of this research is to test the CNN Inception V3 algorithm in identifying a case of Tuberculosis and Pneumonia disease by using a photo of electromagnetic radiation from a person's body wavelength. From the photos, the results obtained were the percentage of accuracy of x-ray photos of normal lungs is 99.63%, the percentage of accuracy of x-ray photos of tuberculosis lungs is 99.82% and the percentage of accuracy of x-ray photos of lungs with pneumonia is 99.69%.

Abstract

Technological advances in the modern era are now becoming a trend in the lives of every individual and in various fields. One of them is QR (Quick Response) Code technology in the Android-based Heroes application. This research explains the community service program, especially for partners at Yohanes Gabriel Catholic Elementary School located in Sidodadi, Garum District, Blitar Regency. Our service is by creating an application that contains sketches of the faces of Indonesian Heroes and their struggles both before and after independence, wrapped in short videos. The method used is face-to-face where we provide guidance to teachers in using the application we created and provide outreach to elementary school students regarding the application created. With this application which utilizes the latest technology, it has had a positive impact, especially for our partners at Yohanes Gabriel Catholic Elementary School, where the elementary school teachers can use the application we created in their teaching and learning activities..            Keywords: QR code; community service; android

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of using Narrative Crossword Puzzles for learning advanced English vocabulary in the Society 5.0 era and how this method can enhance students' mastery of advanced vocabulary. This study demonstrates that the Game-Based Learning: Narrative Crossword Puzzle strategy significantly improves advanced English vocabulary learning. This research applied qualitative methods and an experimental quasi-technique with a statistical approach to analyze the data. The rejection of the null hypothesis confirms a substantial difference between pre-test and post-test results, indicating that the student's learning outcomes increased notably after implementing this strategy. The findings support the effectiveness of game-based learning, particularly narrative crossword puzzles, in enhancing student engagement and making the learning process more enjoyable and effective in educational contexts.

Abstract

Semiotics is a scientific study or method of analysis used to examine signs in a context of scenarios, images, texts, and scenes in movies into something that can be interpreted. In this qualitative research, the researchers will examine Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis with a focus on the difference between denotative meaning (literal meaning) and connotative (deeper or implied meaning) in the representation of visual and verbal symbols in the movie. By examining visual and verbal symbols, such as striped pajamas and barbed wire fences, the research reveals themes of oppression, social inequality, and innocence. The qualitative method includes repeated viewing and detailed note-taking of symbolic elements. This analysis provides insights into how visual media communicates complex historical trauma and moral messages. This movie tells about the friendship between a boy who is the son of the leader of the Nazi armed forces and a boy who is a prisoner living in a concentration camp. This study found that there are 7 elements contained in the film such as the cover, Bruno's family home, concentration camp, striped pajamas, numbers on pajamas, wire fences, and also the friendship between Bruno and Shmuel which illustrate the historical conditions at that time and also reflect the themes of oppression, social differences, injustice, and innocence. The results of this study are expected to deepen the understanding of the use of visual and verbal symbols in film as a tool to convey ideology and cultural insights, as well as moral messages.Keywords: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas; semiotic analysis; denotation; connotation
