Abstract

Lecturers have the opportunity to spread the values of science and Islam to biology students at PTKIN. One of the efforts is to make a basic biology book that integrates it into Islamic teachings. The aim of this study was to test the validity and practicality of the Biology book which is integrated with Islam (Alquran). In addition to the identification of Surahs and verses of the Alquran that explain basic biological material in semester 1. This research is R&D. The validity and practicality of the data were analyzed using a Likert scale. The technique of collecting data by means of FGD as many as 9 students and 4 lecturers. The results showed that the basic biology textbooks based on the integration of science and Islam at IAIN Kudus were declared valid with very good criteria and practical with very good criteria. The content of this book consists of 12 chapters, namely biology as a science, cells and viruses, tissue structure of animals and plants, biological diversity, metabolism, nervous and endocrine systems, digestive systems, reproductive systems, circulatory systems, principles of genetics, evolution, and biotechnology. The material was then inserted verses scattered in the Alquran.

Abstract

Penilaian praktikum seringkali kurang memberikan penguatan umpan balik kepada mahasiswa karena penilaian praktikum kadang  diletakan pada  waktu penghujung  akhir semester. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen tipe the matching only posttest only control group design.  Kegiatan simulasi praktikum dengan self assessment dilakukan dengan memberikan kriteria-kriteria kemampuan dasar yang harus dikuasai  dalam melakukan pengamatan toleransi osmotik sel darah merah (eritrosit) dan preparat sel darah putih (leukosit). Hasil penelitian menggunakan simulasi praktikum dengan self assessment  menunjukkan keterampilan kinerja (performance) mahasiswa dalam pengamatan sel  darah dengan  hasil signifikan  lebih baik dibandingkan penggunaan simulasi praktikum biasa. Kegagalan dalam mengamati sel darah, seringkali karena mengunakan perbesaran, mikrometer dan makrometer  mikroskop yang tidak sesuai sehingga menghabiskan alokasi waktu yang tersedia. Simulasi praktikum dengan self assessment  memberikan kesempatan kepada setiap mahasiswa untuk menilai kemampuan diri dalam menggunakan mikroskop, selain itu juga perlu memiliki strategi khusus agar dapat melakukan pengamaatan objek secara benar, cepat dan efektif. Simulasi tersebut mendorong untuk memunculkan sikap tanggungjawab agar dapat mencapai keterampilan kinerja. Kata Kunci: simulasi praktikum;  self  assessment; performance; sel darah

Abstract

This study aims to design and produce a stop motion graphic animation video oriented to STEAM global warming material that is used as a learning medium and to determine the response of students at MTs Manbaul Huda Ngaluran Karanganyar Demak to stop motion graphic animation video oriented STEAM global warming material. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) which refers to the Borg and Gall development procedure. This research includes 7 stages. The trial was carried out after going through a validity test by media experts and material experts. The trial was carried out at MTs Manbaul Huda Ngaluran Karanganyar Demak involving 28 students of class VII. meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses qualitative data from quantitative data for the development of STEAM-oriented video stop motion graphic animation products for global warming material in order to determine the feasibility of the developed media. The results showed that the media was feasible to use based on the percentage of media experts of 92% and material experts of 84.8%, the response of students to stop motion videos was very satisfied based on the results of small-scale trials getting an average score percentage of 96.95% and the test Field trials get an average score percentage of 85.7% which means that the stop motion graphic animation video media oriented to STEAM global warming material can be accepted by students.
