Abstract

Many families still face various challenges in providing optimal academic support, such as time constraints, lack of knowledge, and financial issues. This study aims to analyze the impact of parental involvement on students' academic achievement and to identify strategies that can enhance parents' roles in supporting their children's education. The research employed a descriptive survey approach with a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected from three participants, consisting of elementary school students' guardians, through closed questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to identify patterns of involvement and their impact on students' academic performance. The results showed that parental involvement significantly contributes to students' academic success. Parents who actively provide support, such as assisting with homework, providing adequate learning resources, and maintaining communication with the school, can enhance children's learning motivation. However, several obstacles were identified in this study, including parents' time limitations due to work commitments, a lack of understanding of the learning materials, and financial constraints in providing optimal learning facilities. This study concludes that increasing parental involvement is crucial in supporting children's educational success.

Abstract

This study investigates the availability, effectiveness, and impact of support services for students with special needs in Islamiyah schools in Southwest Nigeria. Despite growing attention to inclusive education, many students with disabilities still face difficulties in transitioning through school and completing their education. Significant challenges include limited access to specialized support services, inadequate teacher training, and weak inclusive education policies. Although resources such as assistive technology, counselling, and specialized educational support exist, their implementation in Islamiyah schools is inconsistent and often dependent on external aid. Using a Convergent Parallel Design, the study collected quantitative and qualitative data from 17 Islamiyah schools through questionnaires and focus group discussions with teachers, school administrators, students with special needs, parents, and community leaders. Quantitative data were analyzed with SPSS, while qualitative insights were obtained through thematic analysis. The study's findings indicate that support services are inadequate and uneven, with urban schools generally better prepared than rural ones. The study highlights crucial factors for the educational success of students with special needs, such as family support, personal motivation, peer relationships, easy access to learning materials, and community involvement. The study emphasizes the need for policy reform, increased investment, and stronger stakeholder collaboration to improve inclusive practices in Islamiyah schools.

Abstract

This research examines the welfare packages implemented in secondary schools and their implications for educational managers. Key welfare components include financial benefits, health services, professional development opportunities, and work-life balance initiatives. These packages enhance the well-being of teachers and students, improve retention rates, motivation, and productivity, and emphasize the role of educational managers in effective implementation and management. The study also addresses challenges faced by managers in integrating comprehensive welfare strategies, such as budget constraints, policy limitations, and varying stakeholder expectations. The findings suggest that a well-structured welfare package can lead to a more engaged and effective teaching workforce, ultimately improving student outcomes. This research provides valuable insights for educational managers seeking to foster a supportive learning environment and advocates for a holistic approach to educational management that prioritizes the welfare of both educators and students. The study serves as a foundational reference for educational stakeholders interested in understanding the interplay between welfare packages and educational management, urging a shift towards a more welfare-oriented approach in secondary education settings.
