Abstract

The research aims at finding factors contributing to conflicts between groups of university students, especially that of between the students from Luwu and Bone in 2021. The conflict occurred outside of campus and widely impacted the safety of the surrounding community. The theory employed in the research is The Tree Conflict Model, Conflict Escalation Model, prejudice and stereotype model, and the national security concept. The research applies qualitative method and case study as the research design. Data collection techniques implemented are interviews and literature reviews. The result of the research indicates that conflicts between two student groups are caused by three factors; the Structural, the Manifestation, and the Dynamic factors. The Structural factor is an emotional bonding that gives people sensations of solidarity and causes them to be easily provoked. It also contributes to organizational mishandling and ineffective punishment. In the Manifestation factor, it is the group solidarity that significantly contributes to the conflict. Lastly, it is the Dynamic factor that is reflected in the action of retaliation. More importantly, the impact of the conflict can excess and causes disruption against communal and social safety. In this regard not only is the government responsible for avoiding external threats but it is also mandated for the safety of people in their daily life.

Abstract

The problem of High Social Gap in Papua is an indication of the causes of marginalization and discrimination against the Papuan people. The difference in perceptions of some Indonesian people at home and abroad regarding the armed separatist conflict is a push factor to corner the Indonesian government. Apart from that, the issue of the internationalization of the 1969 referendum mechanism, violations of Human Rights (HAM), and the management of Natural Resources (SDA) by multinational companies which did not have an impact on improving the welfare of the Papuan people also complement the opinion of the government's failure. Based on the background of the problem, this research uses qualitative research methods and a descriptive approach. The research results show that conflict resolution in Papua can be implemented through (three) things, namely the first, the gradual development of an Integrated Food Estate (IFE) according to traditional areas in Papua, which will indirectly support the realization of Territorial Resilience and the Universal Defense System (Sishanta). Furthermore, to ensure that all these processes are carried out well and continuously, it is necessary to form an Integrated Solution Center (ISC). To eliminate the issue of internationalization of Papua, it is necessary to implement International Defense Diplomacy (IDD) carried out by Indonesian government agents abroad to socialize International Laws which are the juridical basis that Papua is part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). By implementing all these recommendations, it is hoped that a peaceful and prosperous Papuan society will soon be realized.

Abstract

Village development is one of the main pillars in the effort to improve community welfare and promote economic equity. Although the number of advanced and self-sufficient villages has continued to increase, the gap between rural and urban areas remains significant, particularly in infrastructure, access to basic services, and technology. Development conflicts are largely unavoidable, often triggered by disparities in resource distribution, ineffective communication, and limited public understanding of development benefits. This study examines the role of village autonomy in preventing development conflicts and its implications for sustainable and equitable growth, using Wadas Village, Central Java, as a case study. The conflict emerged from the government’s plan to exploit andesite stone for the Bener Dam without transparent public participation. The local community resisted, fearing environmental degradation and threats to agricultural land. The unequal distribution of benefits intensified tensions, as residents perceived more harm than advantage from the project. This study employed a descriptive-analytical method with a qualitative approach to analyze conflict patterns and contributing factors by reviewing academic literature, policy reports, and official documents. The findings reveal that village development conflicts in Indonesia are multidimensional, shaped by socio-economic disparities and uneven resource distribution. Poor communication, limited public participation, and neglect of local wisdom further exacerbate tensions. Village autonomy offers a strategic opportunity to establish conflict prevention mechanisms through policy integration. A holistic approach, encompassing structural assessment, actor analysis, and conflict mitigation, can foster more inclusive and equitable development.

Abstract

The importance of an individual's citizenship status has led the international community to establish several legal instruments related to citizenship status. The right to renounce citizenship is based on the principle that individuals have the right to determine their own citizenship, subject to the reasonable requirements of the laws of the involved states. This research method employs a qualitative approach, focusing on examining the application of legal norms and principles to legal theories and doctrines. This involves identifying the policies of various states regarding the citizenship status of families who sympathize with ISIS. Consequently, the research aims to formulate policy considerations of states concerning international legal provisions
