Abstract

This research aims to create Student Worksheets (LKS) using the Construct 3 application as a German vocabulary learning media at the A1 level for high school students. This study will employ a descriptive qualitative method. The process of creating the LKS utilizes Richey and Klein's theory, involving the following phases: (1) the planning phase, (2) the development or creation phase, and (3) evaluation phase. The data for this research consist of German vocabulary with themes "Hobbys" and "Die Familie" at A1 level, sourced from the book "Netzwerk neu A1 Kursbuch" published by Ernst Klett Sprachen GmbH in 2019. The application will be tested by media experts, and material testing will be conducted by native German speakers and instructional media specialists. The outcome of this research is a set of digital vocabulary games at A1 level for high school students and a book serving as teaching material for German vocabulary in high schools. The final output will be an article in a nationally and internationally indexed Journal or proceedings.

Abstract

The issue of verbal bullying or body shaming is the driving force behind this research. Interview results indicate that some students at SMPN 13 Medan have experienced body shaming. The aim of this research is to understand how body shaming impacts adolescents at SMPN 13 Medan. Physical shaming is also a form of verbal bullying, which means using words to hurt or insult someone. Among teenagers, body shaming has a negative impact on the next generation. This research focuses on the impact of body shaming on adolescents. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The main objective of this research is to understand how body shaming affects adolescents deeply, physically, mentally and socially. The data collection methods in this research are observation, interviews, documentation, and voice recordings. Additionally, the data analysis methods used in this research are data reduction, data presentation, or information recognition.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of standardized language use in social media on users' understanding and communication. With the increasing dominance of social media as a communication platform, the use of appropriate language is important to ensure messages are well received and understood. This study used survey method to collect data from various age groups and educational backgrounds. The results show that the use of standardized language tends to increase clarity and politeness in communication, but can also cause difficulties for users who are less familiar with formal language rules. This study concludes that although standardized language has an important role in improving comprehension, adaptation and flexibility in its use need to be considered in order to maintain effective communication on social media.

Abstract

In German language courses at universities, students must learn four skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. To master these four skills, students must have a good command of vocabulary, as this is the foundation needed to master the German language. This software does not require programming code, so users can easily add graphics and sounds to the game. Without vocabulary, skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening cannot be performed. This study aims to create a Construct 2 application that can be used by college students to increase their A1 level German vocabulary. The data for this study is A1 level German vocabulary with the theme “Guten Appetit,” and another source of data is the book “Netzwerk neu A1 Kursbuch” published by Ernst Klett Sprachen GmbH in 2019. This research will be conducted in the foreign language laboratory at UNIMED. The application will be tested by subject matter experts and learning media experts. This research will be published in a nationally indexed journal.
