Abstract

After the COVID-19 pandemic for approximately 2 years, a lot of learning that is usually face-to-face is finally done online or in hybrid ways. Certain learning phases, like writing hiragana, katakana, and kanji in a face-to-face classroom, are not transferable to online learning. The goal of this study is to mitigate the learning loss that happens when face-to-face instruction in Japanese language classes is substituted by online learning. The method used is descriptive qualitative by presenting various ways of teaching Moji-Goi using learning media and YouTube. According to John Keller (2021), learning should use the ARCS method (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction) so that learning loss can be overcome with various treatments including the ARCS method and various uses of media such as cards, games, songs, role-play, and YouTube. This research also intends to introduce JF (Japan Foundation) Standard learning and share information about Japanese language teaching, especially about Moji-Goi (Vocabulary-letters)

Abstract

The development of batik has spread to almost all subdistricts and villages, especially in East Java. Each community strives to produce and find uniqueness in creating their batik motifs. In Singosari Subdistrict, Malang Regency, there is a community of batik craftsmen from villages and subdistricts in the Singosari area, namely the Singosari Batik Association. To date, numerous batik motifs have been created. However, these have not yet met sales targets due to the lack of a distinctive and unique batik identity from the artisans of the Singosari Batik Association. Therefore, guidance is needed in exploring ideas for motifs, as well as experimenting with forms, compositions, and colors in designing batik motifs that can reflect the identity of Singosari batik artisans. In exploring the uniqueness of Singosari motifs, two approaches are used. The first is through the traditional culture of Singosari, which can be traced back to the historical greatness of the Singosari kingdom in the past. The second approach is through the culture that has been developed in the present day. These two approaches can be used to describe the form of Singosari motifs. To strengthen the identity of Singosari motifs, color can also support the composition of the motifs. When determining the characteristic colors of Singosari, natural colors can be sourced from plants that grow and are endemic to Singosari. Some motifs resulting from the redesign of craftsmen's sketches have also been re-explored and transformed into new motifs that craftsmen can use as design inspiration for future batik creations. The diversity of attractive batik motifs will undoubtedly influence consumer purchasing power, thereby increasing the production output of the Singosari Batik Association. It is hoped that the batik fabric produced will once again become the signature fabric of Singosari, recognized by all segments of society, and represent East Java both domestically and internationally in the future.

Abstract

The National Examination (UN), carried out so far, will be replaced in 2021 with the 2021 National Assessment. In this national assessment, three instruments are elements of the evaluation: Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM), Character Survey, and School Environment Survey. AKM itself is an assessment of essential competencies needed by all students at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels to develop their capacity and participate actively and positively in society. After the MOU with the Japanese Language MGMP in the Malang area with the Japanese Language Education Study Program, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this collaboration can only be realised in 2021. The formulation of the problem from this Penmas is 1. How to make teaching materials (in brief) easier for students to understand the material taught in the form of worksheets? 2. How to write assignments and exercises to improve students' understanding of the themes taught in worksheets? The final result of this Penmas is the creation of AKM-based Japanese worksheets. Then these worksheets will be printed to get the ISSN/ISBN to increase the score for the promotion of available positions for teachers, while language education lecturers implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely Service.

Abstract

Abstract : The low productivity of teachers in writing scientific papers has become the subject of discussion conducted by the Community Service Team with representatives of the Japanese MGMP teacher in the city of Jombang. There are many factors behind the low teacher publications. Therefore, the Team tried to help increase the number of teacher publications by conducting seminars on classroom action research and followed up with workshops on writing scientific papers. After the workshop activities, a certificate with the conversion of hours (JP) will be given so that it can be used by teachers of Japanese language MGMP members for promotion. Scientific papers that have been written will be reviewed and provided with feedback so that later the article is appropriate and will be directed to be submitted to certain journals in accordance with classroom action research.
