Abstract

Abstract“Panji Stories” is one of East Java’s Treasures. These stories had been spreadedall over the world in the form of various legends. Besides, these stories were also adapted by the caracters in many ‘Wayang” stories, one of them is Wayang Beber. Wayang Beber is one of the oldest Wayang in Indonesiaand and it was developed in Java. It was a uniq wayang since it was performed by showing every scene in a background (dibeber in Javanis language), now days it will be almost the same as picture series in comics. The visualization of this wayang beber is exactly the same as the visualization of the stories in the two dimentions sculptures of temples in East Java. Panji Stories revitalization provides philosophy values and high historical values. Therefore, by applaying those story in Wayang Beber, it will be a way to conserve Indonesian’s culture and a way to filter the expantion of foreign culture. Abstract

This research explores the theoretical aspects of implementing the pragmatic approach in learning speaking skills/kaiwa, as outlined in Minna No Nihongo 1's book. The pragmatic approach is a learning approach to improve students' speaking/kaiwa skills in the classroom, prioritizing contextualized learning of speaking skills. This emphasis on context becomes particularly significant throughout the learning process. By employing this approach, students, including those in secondary schools and universities, can closely simulate practical speaking conditions, both verbally and in written form. The method used is qualitative descriptive with purposive sampling. Therefore, applying the pragmatic approach has proven effective in promoting active learning, significantly improving students' speaking skills inside and outside the classroom. The Japanese language learning process should be designed to meet practical language needs that correspond to real-world situations. By incorporating patterns based on pragmatic studies, learners undergoing Japanese learning experiences will naturally connect with the practical aspects of communication in the language learning process.

Abstract

Relief as a form of local wisdom comes in one form as a tool to immerse moral values in antiquity. However, the difference is too long to make relief is no longer popular in this increasingly digital era. Therefore, effort is needed to popularize the stories in relief into children's stories so that they are more easily digested, enjoyed, and used as media of character building that has been mandated by the law.The method of reading works of art that is still rarely used to reconstruct relief stories. Relief stories are only confirmed through the search of written documents that are now increasingly rare existence. The theory in question is iconography.Through this theory, the reliefs can be read and then the reading results are combined and become a story. In the preparation of the story, this theory requires several steps of work, namely, factual description and expressional descriptions. This is understood by identifying the basic shape, the arrangement of a particular line and color, or the unique shape of a piece of bronze or a stone, a natural picture such as man, animal, plant, life-aid and identifying relationships among them as an event. Some things that have been connected are connected, then character expression is exposed through poses and or gesturenya. This is called an artistic motif. The second stage is iconography, which is the process of reading the secondary meaning of the textual aspect (visual traits / artistic motives), by looking at the relationship between the visual features of a work of art with themes and concepts based on the interpretation of imagination or images, stories and allegories or symbols). For that, it takes literary studies as supporting in the form of various theories such as anthropology, sociology, socio-culture, or lifestyle, literary works, and philosophy in the context of the work studied. A specific theme or concept is expressed by the objects of art and events in the work. Keyword: iconography, relief, child literature

Abstract

The development of batik has spread to almost all subdistricts and villages, especially in East Java. Each community strives to produce and find uniqueness in creating their batik motifs. In Singosari Subdistrict, Malang Regency, there is a community of batik craftsmen from villages and subdistricts in the Singosari area, namely the Singosari Batik Association. To date, numerous batik motifs have been created. However, these have not yet met sales targets due to the lack of a distinctive and unique batik identity from the artisans of the Singosari Batik Association. Therefore, guidance is needed in exploring ideas for motifs, as well as experimenting with forms, compositions, and colors in designing batik motifs that can reflect the identity of Singosari batik artisans. In exploring the uniqueness of Singosari motifs, two approaches are used. The first is through the traditional culture of Singosari, which can be traced back to the historical greatness of the Singosari kingdom in the past. The second approach is through the culture that has been developed in the present day. These two approaches can be used to describe the form of Singosari motifs. To strengthen the identity of Singosari motifs, color can also support the composition of the motifs. When determining the characteristic colors of Singosari, natural colors can be sourced from plants that grow and are endemic to Singosari. Some motifs resulting from the redesign of craftsmen's sketches have also been re-explored and transformed into new motifs that craftsmen can use as design inspiration for future batik creations. The diversity of attractive batik motifs will undoubtedly influence consumer purchasing power, thereby increasing the production output of the Singosari Batik Association. It is hoped that the batik fabric produced will once again become the signature fabric of Singosari, recognized by all segments of society, and represent East Java both domestically and internationally in the future.

Abstract

Abstract: The existence of Toyomarto tourist village is expanding with the increasing number of tourists visiting the area. Visitors come for various purposes, ranging from religious (spiritual) activities to non-spiritual activities. As a village that has declared itself a tourist village, Toyomarto needs to formulate its image/identity so that it can be known by the wider public and have a stronger bargaining position compared to other villages. Therefore, Toyomarto needs to brand itself to become better, more advanced, and more developed. For this reason, a community service program titled “Design Planning as a Strategy for Tourism Branding Based on Oral Traditions in Toyomarto Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency” was initiated as a strategic program to brand Toyomarto as a tourist village among the wider community. Generally, this community service program is carried out through the utilization of research on local narratives (folk tales, myths, traditional arts, traditional expressions) found in Toyomarto Village. The local narratives will be specifically selected based on criteria related to water sources. Through a synthesis of various local narrative sources, these will be visualized in the form of graphic logo designs and illustrations, which can be applied as promotional media and unique merchandise based on the stories of Toyomarto Village.
