Abstract

Islam Nusantara is a form of Islam that developed in Indonesia with the characteristics of friendly, tolerant, and mutual respect, in accordance with the identity and character of the people of the archipelago. As a manifestation of the spirit of spreading Islam, Islam Nusantara is integrated with local culture to unite religious teachings and indigenous local wisdom. The transformation and relationship between religion and culture creates the distinctiveness of each locality, as seen in the ethnic culture of Lampung. The relationship between Islam and Lampung culture influences each other, where Islamic values enrich Lampung culture, and vice versa. The people of Lampung express religious moderation as a cultural value that bridges religious diversity in Indonesia. This moderation reflects the harmony between Islam Nusantara and local wisdom, where both do not negate each other, but seek solutions with tolerance. Understanding the values of Nusantara Islamic civilization and religious moderation in the indigenous people of coastal Lampung is an explanation of the relationship between Islam and culture in the development of Lampung society.

Abstract

At Islamic boarding schools, student’s discipline education is the most effective method of education. As a result, everyone involved in Islamic boarding schools, including students, teachers, and Islamic Boarding School caretakers, must uphold discipline education. The discipline is divided into several categories: manners, cleanliness, worship, language, boarding, dress, exercise, and language. Everything must be strictly followed from the moment students officially join the Islamic Boarding School. Baitul Qur'an Pringsewu Islamic Boarding School is one example of a boarding school that can incorporate discipline education into daily life. This study takes a descriptive research approach. This study lacks a hypothesis because it is not intended to test hypotheses that have been developed to be rejected or accepted, but rather to collect data to describe the actual situation in the field. It runs smoothly and effectively, based on the findings of Islamic education management research into improving student’s discipline at the Baitul Qur'an Pringsewu Islamic Boarding School.

Abstract

Several factors influence teachers’ work commitment and students’ academic achievement. These factors include instructors’ emotion regulation skills and their level of involvement in school decision-making. This study aimed to determine how teachers’ emotional intelligence and participation in decision-making influence their dedication to their work. One hundred and fifty educators participated in this quantitative investigation through a survey. Teachers’ emotional intelligence, participation in decision-making, and commitment to their work were assessed using a questionnaire. The impact of these variables was tested through data analysis using regression techniques. Positive and statistically significant effects of emotional intelligence and participation in decision-making on teachers’ dedication to their work were observed. Emotionally intelligent teachers are more dedicated to their jobs because they can better handle stress, form strong relationships with students, and overcome obstacles.Furthermore, being part of the decision-making process fosters a more substantial personal investment in school policies and programs, increasing dedication to the work to improve teachers’ dedication to their work and the quality of education their students receive; this study has significant implications for school administration and professional development programs for educators. This research further examines the real-world consequences for school administrators and policymakers who want to foster an atmosphere encouraging teachers to be emotionally intelligent and have a voice in classroom decisions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of madrasah principals in improving teacher performance. The research uses a field research approach (field research). The results of the study showed that the head of the madrasah always carried out direct supervision or supervision by going around the class to see the teacher. In addition to supervising the teaching of the principal, the madrasah principal also plays a role in the process of monitoring or evaluating the work of all staff in the madrasa, including teachers, the madrasah principal tries to influence teachers and employees to inspire enthusiasm for work and commitment to task goals. The conclusion of this study is that the principal plays an active role in efforts to improve the work ethic of teachers, namely by establishing harmonious relationships with fellow teachers (teachers), providing welfare to adequate teachers, controlling and evaluating teachers in carrying out their duties so that they can change their mindset. in building teacher character, so that teachers participate in building madrasas to be at the forefront in accordance with their vision and mission.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore the implementation of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach based on Islamic values in pesantren, as a response to the need for integrating modern scientific knowledge and Islamic spirituality in addressing 21st-century challenges. The focus of the study is to identify contextual strategies for implementing STEAM, analyze students' responses to the integration of Islamic values within STEAM learning, and formulate a conceptual framework for STEAM integration grounded in the principles of Islamic education (ta’dib). Design/methods/approach – This study employs a qualitative approach through an exploratory case study design at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur’an Al Husna Bukit Rajawali. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews with five key informants (teachers, pesantren leaders, students), and document analysis conducted during March 2025. Data analysis was carried out thematically using triangulation techniques to validate the findings. Findings – The results indicate that STEAM was implemented through project-based learning, including projects such as constructing a natural water filter, producing educational videos, and creating Islamic geometry-based calligraphy. The integration of Islamic values was carried out substantively, with explicit connections between STEAM activities and Qur’anic verses and hadiths, significantly enhancing students' enthusiasm and active engagement. Identified challenges include limited learning facilities and teachers’ competencies in applying interdisciplinary learning. Research implications – Practically, this study recommends that pesantren improve teachers' pedagogical competencies through regular training in STEAM methodologies and invest in simple laboratory facilities or collaborative learning spaces. This integration model can be implemented in other pesantren with similar characteristics to enhance the quality of Islamic education in preparing a generation that is characterized, religious, and capable of addressing global challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Individual Qualities, Competence, dan School Culture terhadap performa guru di sekolah swasta. Dalam konteks pendidikan, performa guru merupakan faktor krusial yang menentukan kualitas pembelajaran dan keberhasilan peserta didik. Sekolah swasta di wilayah Jabodetabek menjadi subjek dalam penelitian kuantitatif ini. Sebanyak 150 pendidik menjadi responden melalui penyebaran kuesioner, dan hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa performa guru di sekolah swasta dipengaruhi secara positif dan signifikan oleh tiga variabel independen, yaitu school culture, individual qualities, dan competence. Individual Qualities, yang mencakup sikap, motivasi, dan etika kerja, berkontribusi besar terhadap dedikasi dan efektivitas guru. Competence atau kompetensi profesional juga terbukti meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran dan pencapaian hasil belajar. Sementara itu, budaya sekolah yang suportif dan kolaboratif memberikan lingkungan kerja yang kondusif sehingga memperkuat performa guru. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi praktis bagi pihak manajemen sekolah dalam merancang strategi peningkatan mutu pengajaran melalui pengembangan karakter individu, pelatihan kompetensi, serta penanaman budaya sekolah yang positif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep dan implementasi kepemimpinan transformasional dalam manajemen lembaga pendidikan Islam melalui pendekatan studi pustaka. Kepemimpinan transformasional dipahami sebagai model kepemimpinan yang mengedepankan perubahan positif melalui pengaruh ideal, motivasi inspirasional, stimulasi intelektual, dan perhatian individual. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa prinsip-prinsip ini sejalan dengan nilai-nilai Islam seperti amanah, uswah hasanah, dan islah, sehingga memungkinkan integrasi antara visi religius dan inovasi pendidikan. Berbagai studi menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional berkontribusi pada peningkatan kinerja guru, motivasi belajar siswa, serta pembentukan budaya organisasi yang kolaboratif dan religius. Namun, penerapannya masih menghadapi hambatan berupa keterbatasan pemahaman pemimpin, resistensi budaya organisasi, dan minimnya pelatihan kepemimpinan berbasis nilai Islam. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pengembangan profesional yang terintegrasi dengan prinsip-prinsip spiritual Islam untuk memperkuat efektivitas dan keberlanjutan kepemimpinan transformasional dalam pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a strategic collaboration model between Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) and the Business and Industrial Sector (DUDI) to improve the quality and equity of education toward Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045. This research employs a library research design with a descriptive qualitative approach by analyzing 20 selected scientific articles, academic books, and policy documents published between 2021 and 2025. The data were collected through literature screening and purposive selection based on thematic relevance to PTKI–industry collaboration. Data analysis used content analysis to identify patterns, themes, and conceptual linkages. The findings show that PTKI–DUDI collaboration can be implemented through joint curriculum development, structured internships, research collaboration, entrepreneurship incubation, digital learning expansion for 3T regions, scholarship provision, and talent recruitment. This collaboration not only strengthens graduates’ employability but also promotes equitable access to high-quality education while maintaining the values of moderate Islam. Therefore, the PTKI–DUDI collaboration model has significant potential as a strategic instrument to support the Sustainable Development Goals and Indonesia Emas 2045.
