Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to examine musical performances in the orchestral format in Indonesia, which were previously considered high culture, but currently, orchestral performances are of great interest to the public in different ways. This can be seen from the many requests from the Indonesian people to perform modern orchestral performances at various large and prestigious events. Modern orchestral performances generally occur within the context of the performing arts industry. Because in the context of the Indonesian orchestra management industry, it cannot be separated from managing adequate and solid performance production through good management. Managing Indonesian orchestra performances today requires the application of effective management principles. This research uses a management analysis framework in the management of orchestra performances by Harold Koontz and Cyril O'Donnell in their book Principles of Management: An Analysis of Management Functions by taking a performing arts management approach.

Abstract

Seni bertutur atau sering dikenal dengan sastra lisan merupakan satu diantara wujud ekpresi dari Masyarakat. seni bertutur yang tumbuh dan berkembang di Desa Mudung Darat, Kab. Muaro Jambi, yaitu Jolo Mudung. Jolo memiliki makna sebuah nyanyian, sedangkan Mudung merupakan nama sebuah desa. Seni bertutur Jolo Mudung berisikan pantun yang sesuai dengan konteks yang terjadi pada masyarakat. Metode dalam penggarapan karya ini menggunakan: persiapan, tahap proses penciptaan. Hasil penggarapan ini yaitu Jolo mudung adalah sebuah komposisi musik yang terbagi dalam 2 bagian. Komposisi musik Melengking berangkat dari lantunan sahutan Jolo Mudung , yang menggembangkan melodi sahutan Jolo Mudung diwujudkan menjadi sebuah komposisi musik dengan format World musik serta bentuk musik Fantasia.

Abstract

Karya ini berjudul “Repertoar Usher Valse, BWV 1006a- Gavotte, Orang Kayo Hitam, Khatulistiwa Dalam Pertunjukan Solis Gitar”. Dalam Jurnal ini penyaji akan memberikan penjelasan tentang bagaimana penyaji menginterpretasikan karya yang penyaji tampilkan dalam pertunjukan. Repertoar yang akan ditampilkan berupa Usher Valse karya Nikita Koshkin, BWV 1006a Gavotte karya J.S. Bach, Orang Kayo Hitam karya H. Firdaus Chatab dengan musik dari Arief Iskandar dan Khatulistiwa karya Tohpati. Repertoar ini ditunjukan dari berbagai zaman seperti Usher Valse dari zaman Modern yang berartikan lagu mempunyai garapan dan diterbitkan pada masa Modern yaitu abad ke-20, BWV 1006a-Gavotte dari zaman Barok abad ke -17, Orang Kayo Hitam dari zaman popular Melayu di abad ke-20 akhir. Selanjutnya Khatulistiwa zaman popular abad ke-20 akhir dan 21 awal. Penyaji berharap semua pertunjukan yang penyaji bawakan dapat tersampaikan ke penonton dengan interpretasi yang sesuai. Abstract

Modern music functions not only as a form of artistic expression but also as an ideological medium and a marker of lifestyle in contemporary society. This article explores how modern music—including genres such as pop, rock, hip hop, and EDM—has evolved into a social communication tool that reflects values, identities, and aspirations of today’s urban generation. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, the study examines the relationship between music, media, and popular culture, and how the music industry fosters communities, social resistance, and identity construction. The research also highlights the role of digital media and algorithms in transforming patterns of music production and consumption, resulting in music that is simultaneously personalized and commodified. Modern music has become more than entertainment; it is an ideological arena where meanings are negotiated between producers, consumers, and cultural institutions. The study reveals that the rhythms and lyrics of modern music often carry messages of freedom, social critique, alternative spirituality, and even consumerism. By analyzing modern music as a cultural discourse, this article uncovers its potential as a medium for shaping social consciousness and as a continuously evolving form of global lifestyle.
