Abstract

Purpose – This research aims to analyze how learning steps using study tours can improve the religious moderation and socio-cultural literacy of Madrasah Aliyah students. Given increasing concerns about radicalism among adolescents, it is important to explore learning methods that are effective in shaping moderate attitudes and socio-cultural literacy. Design/methods/approach – This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, while data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The unit of analysis in this study is the XI grade students of Madrasah Aliyah MA Miftahussalam Demak, MANU Demak, and MA Sholahuddin Demak, who hold study tours to Puja Mandala, Bali, once every year. Findings – The results of this study explain that to improve the attitude of religious moderation and socio-cultural literacy of madrasah aliyah students in learning al-Qur'an hadith using study tours in Puja Mandala Bali are by curriculum preparation, identification of learning objectives, selection of tourist sites, preparation of learning materials, field experiences, interactive learning activities, learning evaluation, post-tour reinforcement, and collaboration with stakeholders. Research implications/limitations – This research is limited to only exemplifying the Puja Mandala as a tourist study object. Originality/value – Study tours are one solution to minimize and prevent radicalism and intolerance among students in Madrasah Aliyah. They can also improve religious moderation and socio-cultural literacy.

Abstract

This study focuses on the population administration services provided in Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. Its aims are to describe and analyze the quality of public services in the field of population administration, as well as to identify the factors that both support and hinder the implementation of these services. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection. The informants in this study included the Head of the Government Section of the Sub-district, the Sub-district Secretary, employees, and the community. The findings indicate that the quality of population administration services in Jatinangor District is quite good but not yet optimal. This is attributed to obstacles in the implementation of services that impede the completion of service products submitted by the community, as well as inadequate facilities in the service room and suboptimal cleanliness, leading to community discomfort

Abstract

This study investigates the application of J.C. Catford's translation shifts in the Indonesian subtitles of the animated film "The Journey," a collaborative project between Japan and Saudi Arabia that depicts historical events in Mecca before the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, we analyzed various linguistic units such as words, phrases, clauses, and sentences from the film's subtitles to identify structure shifts, class shifts, unit shifts, and intra-system shifts. The primary objective was to assess how these shifts maintain semantic and syntactic integrity while ensuring the translation remains coherent and contextually appropriate. The findings reveal that structure shifts were the most frequent, accounting for 58% of the total shifts, followed by unit shifts (23%), class shifts (11%), and intra-system shifts (9%). These shifts were essential in adapting the subtitles to the grammatical and cultural norms of the target language (TL). The study contributes to the field of translation studies by providing practical insights and guidelines for translators, emphasizing the importance of using appropriate translation techniques to bridge linguistic and cultural gaps. Ultimately, the research enhances understanding and appreciation of translated animated films among diverse audiences.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the decline in students' religious character in the current era. The aim of this research is to analyze the role of teacher and parent communication in improving students' religious character. The research was conducted at SMPI NW Perigi in 2024. The method used in this research is qualitative. Data was collected by interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this research indicate that efforts to optimize the role of teachers and parents in improving students' religious character in learning include teachers as educators, mentors, and motivators. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan menurunnya karakter religius siswa di era sekarang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis bagaimana peran komunikasi guru dan orang tua dalam meningkatkan karakter religius siswa. Penelitian dilakukan di SMPI NW Perigi tahun 2024. Metode digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa upaya mengoptimalkan peran guru dan orang tua dalam meningkatkan karakter religius siswa dalam pembelajaran yaitu guru sebagai pendidik, pembimbing, dan motivator.

Abstract

Praktik nikah siri merupakan fenomena yang terus berkembang dalam masyarakat Indonesia, terutama di kalangan pasangan yang ingin melangsungkan pernikahan secara sah menurut agama namun tidak mengikuti prosedur pencatatan negara. Kondisi ini menimbulkan berbagai persoalan, baik dari aspek hukum Islam maupun dari dampak sosial yang muncul di masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kedudukan nikah siri dalam perspektif hukum Islam serta mengkaji implikasi sosial yang ditimbulkannya, terutama terkait status hukum istri, anak, dan perlindungan hak-hak keluarga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan normatif-sosiologis, melalui studi literatur, analisis fatwa ulama, dan telaah terhadap regulasi pernikahan di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara hukum Islam, nikah siri dapat dianggap sah apabila terpenuhi rukun dan syarat pernikahan, namun tidak dianjurkan karena berpotensi menimbulkan mudarat, terutama terkait perlindungan hukum dan sosial. Secara sosial, nikah siri berdampak pada rentannya posisi perempuan dan anak, ketidakjelasan status keluarga, serta konflik dalam relasi sosial. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa meskipun nikah siri sah secara agama, praktik ini tidak ideal untuk dilakukan karena bertentangan dengan prinsip kemaslahatan dan perlindungan hak-hak keluarga dalam konteks masyarakat modern.
