Abstract

E-marketplaces play a pivotal role in Indonesia’s digital economic transformation; however, infrastructural limitations, high logistical costs, and low levels of technological literacy hinder their adoption in West Papua Province. Jasa Titip (JASTIP) represents an informal digital facilitation mechanism that enables communities to collectively and affordably access e-marketplace products. Importance–Performance Map Analysis (IPMA) is used to identify strategic intervention priorities for e-marketplace adoption in West Papua using an expanded Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework. The moderating influence of gender in community-based social support is examined. PLS-SEM was used to analyze data from 177 respondents. Results show that enabling environments, hedonic incentives, and social influence greatly affect behavioural intention and utilization. Gender also moderates social impact and behavioural intention, highlighting its function in adoption. The model explains 62.1% of behavioural intention and 66.2% of use behaviour. Policymakers and e-marketplace stakeholders should learn from these results about the necessity of inclusive initiatives that account for gender-specific adoption habits. Moreover, they highlight the critical role of JASTIP practices in overcoming structural barriers to digital access in underserved regions

Abstract

E-marketplaces are expanding in developing regions but face barriers related to logistics costs and infrastructure. JASTIP, an informal proxy shopping service, has emerged as a potential solution to improve accessibility. This study examines the influence of perceived cost, social influence, hedonic motivation, and facilitating conditions on e-marketplace adoption using a modified UTAUT model analyzed through PLS-SEM with data from 185 respondents in West Papua. The findings show that hedonic motivation and social influence significantly increase user intention, perceived cost directly affects usage behavior, and facilitating conditions strengthen intention but do not directly influence usage. These results emphasize the role of JASTIP in reducing costs and improving accessibility. This study recommends improving JASTIP access and infrastructure, implementing flexible pricing policies, and promoting community-based marketing to enhance e-marketplace adoption in developing regions.

Abstract

Abstract

Ride-hailing services offer various benefits. However, in developing regions it often faces various challenges that hinder its success. This research is important to understand the factors that lead to failed adoption of ride-hailing services, particularly in developing regions in Indonesia. While there are many studies on technology adoption of self-service technology, there is still a gap in the literature that addresses it an a specific context. Using Maxim's adoption in West Papua Province as a case study, this research aims to determine what causes ride-hailing service adoption failure. This research uses a quantitative approach method using the Diffusion of Innovation Approach by analyzing 167 valid respondent data. The results of this study show that relative advantage is the most significant factor driving adoption, followed by perceived financial cost, while resistance to change is the main inhibiting factor in technology adoption, followed by Perceived ubiquity or ease of access to ride-hailing services. This research provides insights for ride-hailing service developers in designing more effective strategies to increase the adoption of new technologies in developing regions.

Abstract

Although various studies have attempted to investigate the use of Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance learning processes, very few are conducted to understand whether it can also ignite the cognitive func-tion. Therefore, study aims to examine personal innovativeness factor as a moderating effect on the relation between the AR and the curiosity and perceived value as the foundation to enhance learning processes by students. This research employes a quantitative method harnessing the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (E-TAM), with adding major and gender as control variables. Data were gathered using purposive sampling with 183 respondents, and analyzed using the PLS-SEM method. The results indicate that albeit personal innovativeness has no significant moderating effect to the relationships, the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived of usability and flow experience of AR significantly influence the immersion AR (R2=71.1%), which subse-quently impacts curiosity (R2=40.9%) and perceived value (R2=54.9%), Further analysis also revealed differences in curiosity and perceived value based on gender and major. These findings provide new insights into the factors that influence the effectiveness of AR implementation in education.
