Abstract

This research aims to explore the Islamic Religious Understanding program in shaping the mentality of the Indonesian Army at Kodim 1802/Sorong. The research method used is field research with a case study approach. In this approach, researchers analyze selected cases in depth to gain a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon or problem being researched from various perspectives. Data was collected through the research findings based on the programs implemented at Kodim 1802/Sorong, which were then analyzed qualitatively. The results of this research show that the Islamic Religious Understanding implemented at Kodim 1802 Sorong can gradually shape the mentality of the soldiers. However, there are challenges in implementing the program, including a lack of role models from leaders, a gap between coaching materials and field realities, and a lack of planning that is in accordance with educational theory. The suggested solutions include more critical learning about faith and morals, separating mental and ideological development, using interesting learning methods, and improving lesson structures to increase understanding and participation of TNI AD members on an ongoing basis. Therefore this research provides an important contribution in developing a more effective mental development program in the Kodim 1802/Sorong environment, as well as providing direction for further research and development in this field.

Abstract

Adolescents are a group that is vulnerable to experiencing various complex problems in various aspects of their lives. This research aims to explore the factors that influence adolescent problems and identify effective coping strategies. A qualitative approach was used in this research, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The research results show that adolescent problems cover various aspects, such as mental disorders, family conflicts, negative relationships, drug use, and the inability to manage emotions. Factors contributing to these problems include the social environment, individual factors, and media influence. In addition, this research shows that the da'wah program implemented by IKPP positively contributes to preventing juvenile delinquency through various activities such as lectures, religious studies, and skills training. Apart from that, this program also pays special attention to strengthening family harmony through education about the importance of good communication between family members, understanding religious values, and fostering the role of parents in educating children. This research reveals that integrating da'wah and strengthening family harmony is a practical approach to preventing juvenile delinquency. This research implies the crucial role of community organizations such as IKPP in positively contributing to efforts to prevent juvenile delinquency through a holistic and integrated approach.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the tradition of tori'ou in the Tolaki tribe. The tori'ou tradition has been carried out for generations and until now it still causes debate because the tradition is considered a tradition that is contrary to Islamic law. Based on this problem, the author is interested in conducting research on the tori'ou tradition by formulating two problem formulations, namely; how is the practice of the tori'ou tradition carried out by the Tolaki tribe and how is the Islamic Law review of the tori'ou tradition. This research is a type of field research by conducting observations and interviews with Tolaki traditional leaders, religious leaders, and Tolaki community leaders. The data obtained was then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model data analysis method. The results of this study indicate that the tori'ou tradition is a tradition of storing food in the last bed of a deceased person with the aim of remembering the deceased person by continuing to provide food. The tori'ou tradition is carried out from the first day after the person dies and continues until the 40th night or the 100th night.  While based on the review of Islamic Law, the tori'ou tradition is a form of 'Urf Fasid (damaged) because the Tolaki people's beliefs about the spirit are contrary to the teachings of Islamic law.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of the Maccera’ Tasi tradition in Bonepute, Luwu Regency, and the role of Islamic preaching in shaping community religious awareness. Using qualitative methods that combine ethnographic and phenomenological approaches, the research investigates how Islamic values have influenced the evolution of this coastal ritual. Data were gathered through interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, focusing on the perspectives of religious leaders, traditional elders, community members, and preachers. Findings indicate that Maccera’ Tasi has shifted from rituals rooted in animist practices to forms more consistent with Islamic cultural norms. This transformation has been guided by da’wah efforts, particularly through persuasive preaching and cultural engagement, which reinterpret the ritual’s meanings in line with Islamic teachings while fostering deeper religious consciousness. The study highlights the significance of contextual preaching strategies that respect local traditions while gradually aligning them with Islamic principles. It also emphasizes the value of collaboration between religious scholars and cultural practitioners to maintain the continuity of cultural heritage within an Islamic framework. Ultimately, the research demonstrates how local customs and Islamic values can be harmonized, strengthening both cultural identity and religious life.

Abstract

Khilafah and democracy are two opposing poles according to many researchers. This assessment is actually reductive, because reading the two terms from one side, namely both as systems and forms of government. Democracy, as a system of government, is highly context-dependent, manifesting in various forms such as liberal, direct, or participatory democracy in various societies. Defenders of the caliphate are mistaken in interpreting the word caliphate mentioned in the Qur'an. Meanwhile, the plaintiffs of the caliphate agree with the assumption of the defense group. As a result, the assumption that the caliphate is a system and form of government continues to roll until it covers the original meaning of the caliphate itself. This article will clear the term caliphate from the pile of political tendencies and then reveal its original meaning. For that, the author proposes two problem formulations. First, what is the true meaning of the caliphate ? Second, how to reconcile the caliphate in a political sense with democracy ? In order to dissect the two problem formulations, the author will adopt two analytical knives, namely the thematic interpretation method and Kuntowijoyo's Prophetic Social Science. Thematic interpretation will reveal the basic meaning of the caliphate, while Kuntowijoyo's prophetic social science will synthesize the caliphate and democracy. This research will produce two conclusions. First, the caliphate is not a system and form of state, but rather a divine character that embodies the will to imitate God and personal responsibility for that character. Second, the caliphate manifests itself as an idea and movement based on science, not just doctrine and belief.
