Abstract

Increasing detergent consumption in society has an impact on increasing the volume of waste, which has the potential to pollute water ecosystems. TOP Brand Data Search for 2021 states that people worldwide are more interested in using detergents to combat stubborn stains. Indonesian industrial companies are increasingly producing chemical-based detergents. The research aimed to describe the potential of Moringa oleifera saponin as an effort to prevent water pollution from the Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) compound. The research method uses a rotary evaporator with organoleptic tests. The results found in M. oleifera saponin have a distinctive odour from isothiocyanate compounds, yellowish green colour, pH within 25○C (concentrate 6), the active ingredient of saponin (protease enzyme) of M. oleifera leaves was 8.5%, and specific gravity (2.5%) with a concentrate of 1.2. This research shows that the liquid Detergent produced meets Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI), and the detergent quality was good. The saponin content of M. oleifera was an alternative for industrial companies and a preventive measure for better water ecosystem processing.

Abstract

Protist concepts pose significant challenges for students due to their abstract nature and the complexity of microscopic structures. This study evaluates the validity, practicality, and acceptance of the Augmented Reality-Based Protist Application (AR-BPA), designed to enhance students' understanding of protists through immersive, 3D visualization. Following the development model by Lee & Owens (2004), this research focuses on the development stage, involving validity tests, preliminary implementation, and practicality assessments. Data were gathered from 3 experts, 32 students, and 2 lecturers through questionnaires and interviews, revealing high levels of usability and practicality for AR-BPA. The findings indicate that AR-BPA effectively supports student learning by making abstract concepts more accessible. Nonetheless, improvements in content scope and interface design are suggested to further optimize user experience. The study highlights AR-BPA’s potential to revolutionize protist education, with implications for broader applications in biology learning. Future research should explore scalability and additional factors to fully realize AR-BPA’s educational impact.

Abstract

The organic waste from plants is currently increasing and has not been optimally processed. One of the solutions to save the earth from waste by processed the organic waste into eco enzymes. Eco enzyme is processed through fermentation of a mixture of leftover organic waste which can be used in the manufacture of biodegradable detergents. The manufacture of biodegradable detergents requires natural surfactants as materials that are safe for the environment and humans to replace the chemical compounds. Moringa leaves contain saponins as surfactants which have function as antibacterial and antioxidants. The purpose of this research is to produce biodegradable detergents which are processed through the synthesis eco enzymes and mix the moringa leaf surfactants, as well as to determine the antibacterial compounds found in biodegradable detergent. The method used is experimental research. Detergent biosurfactant is obtained from the process of maceration and evaporation of moringa leaves. The result of mixing detergent with eco enzyme is light brown color, has a distinctive fruity scent, and has a pH value of 10. The liquid detergent produced is according to SNI standard with strong antibacterial power. The results showed that biodegradable detergent can effectively remove bacteria and stains on clothes. Keywords— Liquid detergent, Eco enzyme, evaporation, fermentation
