Abstract

This article examines the weakness of legal protection system for Indonesian migrant workers which are still vulnerably exposed to the practice of human trafficking leading to many cases of physical, sexual and psychological exploitation of Indonesian migrant workers abroad. This study quantitatively explores the model of providing legal protection for Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong, China in order to improve legal protection for Indonesian migrant workers abroad. Finally this study finds the effectiveness and successfulness of the well-established legal system of Hong Kong’s government, as one of the most intended countries by Indonesian migrant workers, in providing protection and guaranteeing the rights of migrant workers. These models constitute the ideal Human Rights Protection schemes for the other countries in realizing strategy and policies for better regulation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the experience of several Muslim married couples when they have their first child. Some aspects that will be explored are related to feelings, expectations, and factors that support the views and practices of husbands and wifes’ parenting for their first child. This study applies a narrative inquiry approach by collecting data using a semi-structured interview technique, where the participants' narratives are analyzed thematically. Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory and a review of Islamic teachings are the references in the discussion of this study. The results show that the dynamics of emotions, expectations, and strategies are carried out by each couple when they have their first child. This study contributes to the views and practices of Muslim married couples, as well as insight into the importance of cooperation, communication, and support from the social environment for married couples in facing the new experience of welcoming their first child into the family. This research involves young married couples from various cultures in Indonesia to see variations in emotional dynamics and forms of support that can be used as a basis for further research.

Abstract

Gender equality, particularly in the areas of education, health, and employment, also serves as a stimulant for faster growth. In Indonesia, attempts to integrate gender equality into development are yielding positive outcomes, with national gender equality indicators improving. However, Indonesia's global standing remains poor, as judged by the Woman, Business, and Law (WBL) Index for 2021, which ranks it 149th out of 190 countries. To promote growth, initiatives to increase the number and quality of human resources, including providing persons with the chance to obtain the broadest possible education, are continuing. This study explores the attainment of gender equality in education, as well as how it relates to economic growth as a metric of progress, using district/city fixed effect panel data for the period 2011-2020.The study's findings show that during the observation period, there was still a gender gap in educational achievement, particularly outside of the Java-Bali region. Increasing gender equality through the ratio of women's years of schooling, as well as the ratio of women to the workforce with a junior high school education that is in line with the needs of the workforce, especially in the industrial sector, contributes positively and significantly to regional economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between tourism infrastructure and government regulations with international tourism demand in Indonesia. Using panel data from 34 provinces in Indonesia in the 2018-2021 period, this study explains Indonesia's international tourism demand which influenced by infrastructure in Indonesia and Indonesian government regulations for developing Indonesian tourism. The estimation results show that the availability of accommodation, local government budgets for the tourism and culture sector, the differences between Java and non-Java islands and the availability of direct flights at Indonesian airports have a positive and significant relationship to Indonesia's international tourism demand. Meanwhile, the Covid-19 pandemic has a negative and significant relationship to Indonesia's international tourism demand. This study used the Fixed Effect Model and Generalized Least Square (GLS) methods to produce the Best Linear Unbiased Estimator (BLUE).

Abstract

Indonesia has the potential of sea wave energy with the second largest coastline having a density of up to 20 kW / m2. Currently, the use of sea wave technology is still at the prototype stage, with several weaknesses such as erratic sea waves, tides and ocean currents so that they can affect the power generated in ocean wave energy. The results of ocean wave energy in mechanical arrays cannot be utilized because of erratic waves. The higher the wave, the greater the power generated and vice versa. If this problem is not resolved, it can cause unstable power output and cause damage to electronic equipment. The solution to this problem is to modify the DC-DC buck boost converter circuit using the Hyeteresis band method, which limits voltage surges below or above to produce the desired voltage in order to maintain constant power and as energy for storage in the storage system. The result of this study is that the performance of DC generators in producing voltage is greatly influenced by speed. At low speeds, the voltage produced by the generator is still too low to charge the battery or in other words cannot be in a perfect charging position, while at maximum speed it produces voltage with Achieve a level sufficient for battery charging. Therefore, control and adjustment of generator speed is key in maximizing battery charging efficiency using a buck-boost converter.

Abstract

Research has focused on a wind turbine system with a vertical-axis Darrieus design with a capacity of 15 watts, serving as an aerator for aeration or adding air to water. The Darrieus turbine, made of aluminium with three corners and a modified NACA 0018 model optimized to work at low wind speeds of 2 m/s, effectively powers a 4-watt DC aerator. Generator voltage readings show a minimum value of 2 volts at a wind speed of 1 m/s and a maximum value of 12.8 volts at a wind speed of 6.2 m/s. The calculated power coefficient is 0.3. Charging the accumulator with a 12 volts/12 Ah takes 23 hours with a generator voltage of 13 volts at a wind speed of 6 m/s. This research reflects Indonesia's progress in optimizing wind energy for sustainable power generation.

Abstract

Before coffee products are marketed, packaging is generally carried out first. Apart from protecting against damage, the packaging also aims to make it easier to carry while traveling. The conventional packaging process is quite time and energy consuming. This results in the packaging process being less efficient. With an automatic packaging system, it is hoped that it will make things easier and save time and energy. Automatic coffee bean packaging tools are built using several electronic devices. Arduino Uno is used as a controller, a load cell sensor to weigh the coffee packaging, a DS18B20 temperature sensor to measure the temperature of the packaging sealer and a proximity sensor to detect plastic packaging. In the actuator section, a servo motor is used to open the coffee bean reservoir valve (hopper tank), a DC motor is used to pull the packaging plastic and a stepper motor is used to press the packaging plastic. The plastic press is equipped with a heating mechanism using nickel wire so that the two layers of plastic can stick together. An LCD module is used to display information on the weight value of the coffee packaging, the temperature value of the sealer and the status of the packaging process. From the test results, it is known that the coffee bean packaging tool is capable of packaging coffee beans automatically. Coffee beans can be packaged in plastic with the weight and length of the packaging according to the design with a success rate of up to 87.5%
