Abstract

This paper investigates the intricate relationships between market size, exchange rates, inflation, the Corruption Perception Index (CPI), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on economic growth. Utilizing a panel data approach, the study analyzes data from Indonesia, China, and Singapore over the period 2019-2023, revealing that larger market sizes significantly attract FDI due to enhanced consumer potential and investment opportunities. Additionally, stable exchange rates are found to be crucial in mitigating risks associated with currency fluctuations, thereby increasing the attractiveness of a country for foreign investors. The findings also indicate that high levels of perceived corruption negatively impact economic growth by undermining governance and investor confidence. While the direct influence of ICT on economic growth was less pronounced, its role in enhancing operational efficiency and market access is acknowledged. The paper concludes with policy recommendations aimed at fostering a conducive investment environment through market expansion, exchange rate stability, anti-corruption measures, and ICT development. These insights contribute to a deeper understanding of the dynamics influencing FDI and provide a framework for policymakers to enhance economic growth in developing countries.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the use of technology in payment systems on the development of the digital financial sector, as well as the challenges faced in optimizing these technologies. Using a quantitative approach and explorative-descriptive research methods, this study collected data from 210 respondents of active users of digital payment services through a questionnaire survey. The results show that digital payment technologies, such as e-wallets, QRIS, and blockchain, contribute significantly to transaction efficiency and security, as well as accelerating the growth of the digital financial sector and improving financial inclusion. On the other hand, challenges such as cyber threats, digital infrastructure inequality, and low digital literacy are still major barriers to technology optimization. Adaptive government regulation and collaboration between the fintech and banking sectors are needed to create a more inclusive and sustainable payments ecosystem. The conclusion of this study is that the optimization of payment technology is essential to drive digital transformation in the financial sector, and efforts to address existing challenges must be carried out jointly between governments, industry players, and the public. This research provides important insights for policy makers and industry players to design strategies that support the development of the digital financial sector.

Abstract

This study evaluates the relationship between decentralization, local democracy, and public welfare improvement in Indonesia through a systematic literature review of 38 academic studies published between 2015 and 2024. The findings indicate that regional autonomy has expanded democratic spaces and stimulated public service innovation, particularly in regions with strong fiscal capacity and progressive leadership. However, regional performance disparities remain evident, characterized by fiscal inequality, bureaucratic weaknesses, and patronage politics that hinder equitable welfare outcomes. This study highlights the need to strengthen local government capacity, enhance budget transparency, and promote meaningful public participation. It offers conceptual contributions by integrating governance and regional economic dimensions, and provides policy recommendations to ensure decentralization functions as an effective instrument for public welfare improvement.
